Inertia and chiral edge modes of a skyrmion magnetic bubble

The dynamics of a vortex in a thin-film ferromagnet resembles the motion of a charged massless particle in a uniform magnetic field. Similar dynamics is expected for other magnetic textures with a nonzero skyrmion number. However, recent numerical simulations revealed that skyrmion magnetic bubbles show significant deviations from this model. We show that a skyrmion bubble possesses inertia and derive its mass from the standard theory of a thin-film ferromagnet. Besides center-of-mass motion, other low energy modes are waves on the edge of the bubble traveling with different speeds in opposite directions.Comment: updated simulation detail

Government Accounting Standards Application Influence on Financial Report Quality

The objectives of this study are to (i) analyze the effect of level of knowledge of UAPPA E1 and UAPPB officers towards Government Accounting Standard (SAP) on financial statements quality; (ii) analyze the effect of the availability of facilities and infrastructures supporting the implementation of SAP on financial statements quality; and (iii) investigate level of improvement of financial statements quality years 2007 and 2008 compared with financial statements quality year 2006. The Office of Inspectorate General of the Department of National Education was selected as the object in this study. A set of valid and reliable questionnaires were used in this study. Multiple linier regression analysis was applied to analyze the data. The study results showed that the implementation of SAP, level of knowledge of UAPPA E1 and UAPPB, and the availability of facilities and infrastructures have significant impacts on financial statements quality.Key words: Government Accounting Standard (SAP); supporting facilities and infrastructure; level of knowledge of UAPPA E1 and UAPPB officers

Pengaruh Penggunaan Gas Pelindung Argon Grade a Dan Grade C Terhadap Kekuatan Tarik Lasan Sambungan Butt Pada Material Kapal Aluminium 5083

Pan Maitime dengan LOA (length over all) 35 m, yaitu material aluminium 5083 dengan ketebalan 6 mm dengan Elektrode ER 5356 sesuai rekomdeasi ANSI/ AWS spesification A 5 10/ A 5 10 M dengan proses pengelasan MIG (metal inert gas).

Modification of the National Weather Service Distributed Hydrologic Model for subsurface water exchanges between grids

To account for spatial variability of precipitation, as well as basin physiographic properties, the National Weather Service (NWS) has developed a distributed version of its hydrologic component, termed the Hydrology Laboratory-Research Distributed Hydrologic Model (HL-RDHM). Because channels are the only source of water exchange between neighboring computational elements, the absence of such exchange has been identified as a weakness in the model. The primary objective of this paper is to modify the model structure to account for subsurface water exchanges without dramatically altering the conceptual framework of the water balance module. The subsurface exchanges are established by partitioning the slow response components released from the lower layer storages into two parts: the first part involves the grid's conceptual channel, while the second is added to the lower layer storages of the downstream pixel. Realizing the deficiency of the water balance module to locate the lower zone layers in sufficient depths, a complementary study is conducted to test the feasibility of further improvement in the modified model by equally shifting downward the lower zone layers of all pixels over the basin. The Baron Fork at Eldon, Oklahoma, is chosen as the test basin. Ten years of grid-based multisensor precipitation data are used to investigate the effects of the modification, plus shifting the lower zone layers on model performance. The results show that the modified-shifted HL-RDHM can markedly improve the streamflow simulations at the interior point, as well as very high peak-flow simulations at the basin's outlet. This study generally aims to trace the history of the instrument in Malay Music Ensemble in Pontianak. The method used is a form of qualitative methods to historical research. Sources of data in this study is Muhammad Thaha, that is, those who know the history of the accordion instrument in Malay Music Ensemble in Pontianak. The main data collection tool in the study were researchers themselves as a key instrument. Based on the results of a study of the history of the accordion instrument in Malay Music Ensemble in Pontianak found some related documents. Accordion instruments entered in Pontianak before the 1960s. In 1961 the accordion become part of the Malay Music Ensemble in Pontianak. Accordion became a very important instrument in the music play Malays Malays so that people want to maintain the accordion instrument that can be characteristic of Malay ethnic instruments in Pontianak

Pengaruh Penambahan Sari Temulawak (Curcuma Xanthorrhiza) Terhadap Total Fenol, Kadar Garam, Kadar Lemak Dan Tekstur Telur Asin

The purpose of this research were to analyze the best Curcuma xanthorrhiza juice on salted egg. The method used in this research was experimental research using completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 4 replications. The curcuma juice were divided into P0 (0%), P1 (25%), P2 (50%) and P3 (75%). The variables observed in this research were total phenol, salt content, fat content and texture. The data were analyzed by analysis of variance. The analysis was continued by Honestly Significant Difference Test if there were significant differences among variables. The results showed that the addition of curcuma juice did not significantly affect (p>0.05) the total phenol and texture. The result showed that the addition of curcuma juice gave highly significant difference (p≤0.01) on salt content and had significant difference effect (p≤0.05) on fat content. The best treatment was the addition of curcuma juice 75% which provided 0.125% of total phenol, 1.31% of salt, 36.98% of fat and 7.05 N of texture. The addition of curcuma juice could reduce the level of salt content and fat content, but did not affect the total phenol and texture
