Unbounded randomness certification using sequences of measurements
Unpredictability, or randomness, of the outcomes of measurements made on an
entangled state can be certified provided that the statistics violate a Bell
inequality. In the standard Bell scenario where each party performs a single
measurement on its share of the system, only a finite amount of randomness, of
at most bits, can be certified from a pair of entangled particles
of dimension . Our work shows that this fundamental limitation can be
overcome using sequences of (nonprojective) measurements on the same system.
More precisely, we prove that one can certify any amount of random bits from a
pair of qubits in a pure state as the resource, even if it is arbitrarily
weakly entangled. In addition, this certification is achieved by near-maximal

A survey of atmospheric dispersion models applicable to risk studies for nuclear facilities in complex terrain
Topology of energy surfaces and existence of transversal Poincar\'e sections
Two questions on the topology of compact energy surfaces of natural two
degrees of freedom Hamiltonian systems in a magnetic field are discussed. We
show that the topology of this 3-manifold (if it is not a unit tangent bundle)
is uniquely determined by the Euler characteristic of the accessible region in
configuration space. In this class of 3-manifolds for most cases there does not
exist a transverse and complete Poincar\'e section. We show that there are
topological obstacles for its existence such that only in the cases of
and such a Poincar\'e section can exist.Comment: 10 pages, LaTe
Charged rho meson production in neutrino-induced reactions at E_nu = 10 GeV
The neutrinoproduction of charged mesons on nuclei and nucleons is
investigated for the first time at moderate energies ( 10
GeV), using the date obtained with SKAT bubble chamber. No strong nuclear
effects are observed in and production. The fractions of
charged and neutral pions originating from decays are obtained and
compared with higher energy data. From analysis of the obtained and available
data on and (892) neutrinoproduction, the strangeness
suppression factor in the quark string fragmentation is extracted: . Estimations are obtained for cross sections of quasiexclusive
single and coherent neutrinoproduction on nuclei. The
estimated coherent cross section = (0.29 cm is compatible with theoretical predictions.Comment: 7 pages, 6 figure
The unidentified TeV source (TeVJ2032+4130) and surrounding field: Final HEGRA IACT-System results
The unidentified TeV source in Cygnus is now confirmed by follow-up
observations from 2002 with the HEGRA stereoscopic system of Cherenkov
Telescopes. Using all data (1999 to 2002) we confirm this new source as steady
in flux over the four years of data taking, extended with radius 6.2 arcmin
(+-1.2 arcmin (stat) +-0.9 arcmin (sys)) and exhibiting a hard spectrum with
photon index -1.9. It is located in the direction of the dense OB stellar
association, Cygnus OB2. Its integral flux above energies E>1 TeV amounts to
\~5% of the Crab assuming a Gaussian profile for the intrinsic source
morphology. There is no obvious counterpart at radio, optical nor X-ray
energies, leaving TeVJ2032+4130 presently unidentified. Observational
parameters of this source are updated here and some astrophysical discussion is
provided. Also included are upper limits for a number of other interesting

Inclusive production of and mesons in charged current interactions
The inclusive production of the meson resonances ,
and in neutrino-nucleus charged current interactions has been
studied with the NOMAD detector exposed to the wide band neutrino beam
generated by 450 GeV protons at the CERN SPS. For the first time the
meson is observed in neutrino interactions. The statistical
significance of its observation is 6 standard deviations. The presence of
in neutrino interactions is reliably established. The average
multiplicity of these three resonances is measured as a function of several
kinematic variables. The experimental results are compared to the
multiplicities obtained from a simulation based on the Lund model. In addition,
the average multiplicity of in antineutrino - nucleus
