    Online Anomaly Detection in Time-Series

    Metody pro online detekci anomálií jsou navrženy pro odhalování anomalií ve spojitém proudu dat namísto ve statickém datasetu. Tyto metody jsou schopné se adaptovat na změny v charakteristice datového proudu, který může v čase nastávat (concept drift). Tato práce analyzuje čtyři metody vhodné pro online detekci anomálií v časových řadách (klouzavý průměr, local outlier factor, isolation forest, hierarchical temporal memory) a několik metod detekce concept driftu včetně některých nových přístupů. Je navrženo obecné schéma, které umožňuje kombinovat různé metody pro detekci anomálií a concept driftu. Pro všechny analyzované metody jsou provedeny experimenty na pěti realných datasetech a jednom umělém. Během experimentů byly zkoumány vlastnosti jednotlivých metod a porovnáván jejich výkon s ostatními metodami. Výsledky experimentů ukazují, že žádná metoda není lepší než ostatní na všech datasetech z hlediska F1 skóre upraveného pro úlohu detekce anomalií (harmonický průměr specificity a míry falešné pozitivních detekcí) a AUC. Ve většině případů bylo nalezeno optimální nastavení methody s F1 skóre >85% a AUC >90%.Methods for online anomaly detection are designed to reveal anomalies in a continuous stream of data rather than in a static dataset. These methods are able to adapt to the changes of underlying characteristics of the stream that might occur in time (concept drift). This thesis reviews four methods suitable for online anomaly detection in time-series (moving average, local outlier factor, isolation forest, hierarchical temporal memory) and several concept drift detection methods including some novel approaches. A general framework that allows to orthogonally combine various anomaly detection methods and concept drift detection methods is proposed. Experiments were executed for all reviewed methods on five real-world datasets and one artificial dataset. During the experiments, the properties of individual methods were examined as well as their performance compared to the other methods. Results of the experiments show that none of the methods is superior to the others on all datasets in terms of F1 score adapted for anomaly detection (harmonic mean of recall and false positive rate) and AUC. In the majority of cases, an optimal method settings with F1 score >85% and AUC >90% was found

    US armed forces have been operating in cyberspace for decades. Due to its position and highly developed digital infrastructure the United States are vulnerable to hackers. These attacks pose restrictions during military operations and can lead to the economic damage of the country. The article focuses on how the Pentagon perceives cybersecurity issues. Military cybersecurity entities include individual commands of the armed forces: USSTRATCOM, USCYBERCOM and Cyberspace Service Components. This article presents the military entities responsible for cybersecurity, pointing to their evolution and increasing importance in providing this kind of security for the country as well as on global scale.Siły zbrojne Stanów Zjednoczonych Ameryki prowadzą działania w cyberprzestrzeni od dziesięcioleci. Ze względu na swoją pozycję i wysoko rozwiniętą infrastrukturę cyfrową USA są narażone na ataki hakerów. Maja one wpływ na charakter planowanych i realizowanych operacji wojskowych oraz mogą prowadzić do szkód gospodarczych państwa. W artykule skupiono się na tym, jak zagadnienia cyberbezpieczeństwa postrzega Pentagon oraz inne wojskowe podmioty zapewniające cyberbezpieczeństwo.     Separation of some vitamins in reversed-phase thin-layer chromatography and pressurized planar electrochromatography with eluent containing surfactant

    AbstractThe separation of some water- and fat-soluble vitamins via micellar systems of reversed-phase high-performance thin-layer chromatography (HPTLC) and pressurized planar electrochromatography (PPEC) was subjected to research. Hence, the influence of the mobile phase composition (surfactant and acetonitrile concentration, eluent buffer pH) on the migration distances and zone separation of some vitamins (thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, pyridoxine, cyanocobalamin, folic acid, ergocalciferol and α-tocopherol) was investigated. Our results indicated that the applied technique has an impact on the solute order. Comparing the system capacity of HPLC and PPEC (measured as height of the theoretical plate) for the mobile phase systems with and without surfactant shows differences, especially for fat-soluble vitamin. The variances and reproducibilities (% RDS) values of the vitamin are less in PPEC than in TLC. Moreover, the migration distances of water-soluble vitamins are longer than fat-soluble ones. Overall, eluent consisting of 50% acetonitrile, 18.75 mM SDS, the buffer of pH 6.99 via the PPEC technique was most appropriate for determining the investigated vitamins in the artificial mixture and the two commercially available vitamin combinations.</jats:p

    Atmospheric corrosivity assessment on the basis of standard specimens’ corrosion rates within the military air bases

    Abstract: Atmospheric corrosion is one of the parameters characterizing the technical condition of the functional elements of airport pavements - it allows to determine the degree of pavement degradation, estimate the appropriate frequency of periodic inspections and take appropriate measures to keep airfield pavements in permanent technical availability. In order to determine the corrosion resistance of the cement and asphalt concrete airfield pavement, atmospheric corrosivity tests determined on the basis of standard specimens exposure and determination of corrosion rates, form and appearance of deteriorations, as well as changes in physical properties at regular intervals are carried out. The samples were exposed to atmospheric conditions at military airport facilities. The article presents the rcorr corrosion rate results of low-carbon steel, zinc, copper and aluminum standard specimens obtained from selected airports of the Polish Armed Forces, starting from 2015. Then, the corrosivity categories of the atmosphere were determined on the basis of the performed measurements.
