Holographic Entanglement Negativity for Conformal Field Theories with a Conserved Charge

We study the application of our recent holographic entanglement negativity conjecture for mixed states of adjacent subsystems in conformal field theories with a conserved charge. In this context we obtain the holographic entanglement negativity for zero and finite temperature mixed state configurations in dd-dimensional conformal field theories dual to bulk extremal and non extremal charged AdSd+1AdS_{d+1} black holes. Our results conform to quantum information theory expectations and constitute significant consistency checks for our conjecture.Comment: 23 pages and 1 Figur

Percolating Risk Factors for Cardiovascular Diseases in Rural North India

    Get PDF
Background: World has seen a tremendous epidemiological transition in disease patterns from communicable to non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Currently cardiovascular diseases are a major cause of disability and premature deaths globally. Objective: (1) To know prevalence of various risk factors of cardiovascular diseases in the rural area of Meerut. (2) To find out the association of sociodemographic factors with hypertension. Settings and design: A cross-sectional study was conducted in Machchra village. Methods: The study was conducted among 315 study participants over time period of one year in which all the adults aged >30 years above residing in the ward of study area were included. Sampling technique used was systematic random sampling. Results: The prevalence of hypertension, diabetes and hypercholesterolemia was found to be 30.2%, 22.2% and 15.2% respectively. The prevalence of pre-obese and obese were 14.3% and 7.0% respectively. The maximum prevalence of hypertension was seen in the age group of 70 years (66.7%), in females (30.6%), SES as class IV (36.5%), secondary school completed population (42.9%) and among homemakers (40.9%). The prevalence of hypertension was found to be statistically significant in relation to age, educational status and occupation. Conclusion: In our study the prevalence of hypertension was found to be 30.2% (in males 29.6% while in females 30.6%)

    Neurilemmoma of lateral nasal wall

Neurilemmoma is a benign tumour of nerve sheath origin that can arise from myelinated nerve. The Head and neck is the most frequent site involved and other sites are scalp, face, oral cavity, pharynx, larynx, trachea and ear. Neurilemmoma usually occur as solitary lesions and in association with NF type 2. Malignant transformation is very rare. We report a case of 18 year old male presented with complaint of nasal obstruction and swelling in right side of nose. We discuss the clinical presentation, histologic features, and therapeutic options for such a rare benign lesion

Correlation of iron deficiency anaemia with HAEMOGLOBIN A1C At A Tertiary Care Teaching Hospital In Uttar Pradesh

Background-Iron deficiency anemia(IDA) is the commonest form of nutritional anemia worldwide, posing wide public health risks. It can increase the red blood cell turnover, which can increase glycation of Hb leading to  higher HbA1c values.Aim- The Aim of the study is to correlate the status of iron deficiency anaemia with glycosylated haemoglobin in adults belonging to the age group of 18- 60yrs. Objectives- To study iron deficiency anaemia for proper screening of patients for early prevention and management. To determine the effect of iron deficiency anaemia on the HbA1c levels. To determine whether the HbA1c levels were increased among anaemic patients. If so, iron deficiency has to be corrected before any diagnostic and therapeutic decision is made based on the HbA1c level.Settings&Design-The present study is a Prospective, Interventional, and Randomized study conducted in tertiary care rural teaching hospital in Uttar Pradesh.  A total of 150 individuals (Patients-100, Control-50) were recruited in the study. Age Group of 15-60 years was studied. Proper Ethical approval from Institutional Ethical Committee was taken and all the participants. A written Informed Consent was obtained from each patient and control  before starting the procedure. Material&Methods-150 participants of our study underwent clinical assessment, their history was taken, investigations including anemia profile and HbA1C levels were done. Anemia correction was done with iron supplementation and HbA1C level was measured post 2 month. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) for Windows (version 16.0).Results&Conclusion-Our study shows that there is a decrease of HbA1c levels in patients of IDA as the mean value of HbA1c(%) in intervention group was at 7.66 at base line which was significantly lower than that of controls(baseline HbA1c = 4.92). Also there is an decrease in level HbA1c after 2 months of treatment as the mean value of HbA1c (%)in patients was 5.40 at 2 month and the mean HbA1c of controls over 2 months period was 5.5.
