    The implementation on Education about Standardization at Universities:Experiences of University of Surabaya

    As a university located in town the industrial, commercial, maritime and education, University of Surabaya (UBAYA) is very concerned about the success of the business and industry community, particularly in the city of Surabaya and surrounding areas. One of univeritas mission is to produce graduates who are competent in accordance with the needs of business and industry. Needs of the business and industry community are implementation both of Indonesia National Standard (SNI) or International Standard (ISO). Therefore, graduates UBAYA in the future should be more understanding and have skills related to the standards. This paper addressed about UBAYA experience in implementation on education about standardization starts from the scope UBAYA themselves by implementing the international standards of quality management system ISO 9001:2008, inserting the material of standardizing or content of the standardization into the curriculum or subjects, then together with National Standardization Agency (BSN) and the East Java Province participated promoting standard to schools, colleges, community of business and industry. All these things are done also in order to fulfill one mission UBAYA. The results of the various activities carried out showing good results, it seen from a survey of customer satisfaction, increased demand for training and assistance for the implementation of quality management system ISO 9001:2008 in the industry, some of graduates majoring in industrial engineering has been working in areas relevant to standards such as a internal quality auditor, management consultant and management representative

    A metric for collaborative networks

    The objective of this paper is to provide a metric that could be used to define success in acollaborative network. Design/methodology/approach - The methodology of this research consists of four stages: Review, Constructing, Testing and Description. Review stage comprised of a critical review of theliterature in order to understand the characteristics of collaborative network organisations and thereasons behind the successes and failures in collaborative networks. Construction stage resulted indevelopment of a metric for collaborative networks. Testing stage tested the model through case studyin a collaborative networks organisation. The outcome of the case study was discussed at thedescription stage to assess usability and usefulness of the metric for participants in turn to generatec onclusions

    Model Development of Supply Chain Network for Fresh Agricultural Products in East Java by Considering The Levels of Product Quality

    East Java is one of the contributing provinces, the largest in Indonesia, for fresh agricultural products, such as fruits and vegetables. Fresh agricultural products are category of perishable product. Perishable products will decrease the level of quality and value of products in line with increasing time. In order for fresh agricultural products produced by farmers can be consumed by consumers in the right quantity, right quality, right place, right time and right price, it is necessary to design a supply chain network model for fresh agricultural products by taking into account the level of product quality. This paper discussed the model development of supply chain network for fresh agricultural products in East Java by considering the level of product quality. Supply chain of fresh agricultural products consists of farmers, wholesalers, distributors and retailers. Supply chain network optimization model has an objective of maximizing the total supply chain profits. A numerical example is presented as the application of supply chain network optimization model for fresh agricultural products. The optimal result of supply chain network can be a recommendation to the East Java provincial government in the regulation of the distribution system of fresh agricultural product

    Developing Model Of Closed Loop Supply Chain Network For Subsidized Lpg 3-Kgs In East Java-Indonesia

    Demand of subsidized LPG 3-kgs in Indonesia has been increasing since the Indonesian government imposed a conversion program from kerosene to Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in 2007. The high increase in demand for subsidized LPG 3-kgs led to the scarcity of products availability. The design of a closed distribution system is required to ensure the availability of subsidized LPG 3-kgs. In this research, the development model of the integration of closed loop supply chain network and vehicle routing problem with simultaneous deliveries and pick-ups with time windows has been proposed. The mechanism of closed distribution system starts from the distributors send LPG empty tubes to filling stations. After filling station inspected and filled the LPG tubes, distributors delivered LPG 3-kgs subsidized from the filling station to some retailers. At the same time, the distributors take back the empty tubes from these retailers by considering the limitations of operational time in each retailers. The proposed model was tested on numerical example and analyzed the result

    Permasalahan perkerasan aspal porus dengan gradasi terbuka (open graded) secara umum terletak padanilai struktural perkerasan seperti nilai stabilitas yang masih rendah dibandingkan dengan perkerasandengan gradasi rapat (dense graded) .Penelitian ini secara umum bertujuan untuk mengetahui kinerjaperkerasan campuran aspal berpori dengan menggunakan aspal polimer Starbit jenis E-55.Metode penelitian dilakukan dengan penentuan komposisi campuran agregat dengan analisis Metode PemampatanKering (MPK) agar kepadatan maksimum (maximum density) dapat tercapai. Analisis model resapancampuran aspal berpori dilakukan dengan metode falling head permeability (FHP) dimana air di dalam tabung (stand pipe) jatuh bebas dengan ketinggian tertentu sampai melewati rongga pada campuran aspalberpori. Analisis kinerja fungsi kekuatan campuran aspal berpori dilakukan dengan metode Marshalldengan membandingkan hasil pengujian dengan parameter seperti stability dan cantabro loss. Hasilpenelitian melahirkan gradasi versi terbaru dengan memanfaatkan agregat lokal Sungai JeneberangProvinsi Sulawesi Selatan. Hasil uji kinerja campuran memenuhi standar parameter yang ada, seperti nilaistabilitas >756 kg, nilai porositas: 20,18%, nilai flow: 3,58 mm, nilai cantabro loss\ud 14,20%, permeability :> 0,23 cm/det, binder drain down 0,05%. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa campuran aspal berporigradasi terbuka dengan menggunakan aspal polimer starbit E-55 memiliki nilai struktural sesuai dengan standar yang ada

    Studi Bangkitan Pergerakan Komuter Pada Perumahan Berlokasi Di Pinggiran Kota Makassar

    Trend perkembangan pembangunan perkotaan di Indonesia dewasa ini telah mendorong kelompok-kelompok masyarakat khususnya kelompok komuter (kelompok pekerja) untuk berpindah dari pusat-pusat kota ke wilayah-wilayah pinggiran kota. Hal ini membawa konsekuensi terjadi pergerakan dalam jumlah yang cukup besar dari wilayah pinggiran kota ke pusat kota oleh para kelompok komuter tersebut,baik di pagi hari (saat ketempat kerja) maupun di sore atau petang hari (saat pulang kerja). Sebagaidampaknya, pergerakan ini cenderung menimbulkan kemacetan transportasi pada kedua periode puncak pergerakan lalu lintas perkotaan tersebut. Dalam rangka mencari solusi atas permasalahan ini, sebagailangkah awal studi ini bertujuan untuk memodelkan dan menganalisis besaran potensi bangkitanpergerakan komuter yang ditimbulkan oleh suatu perumahan yang berlokasi di wilayah pinggiran kota.Studi ini mengambil kasus perumahan BTP yang berlokasi dipinggiran kota wilayah utara KotaMakassar. Suatu survei berbasis wawancara menggunakan kuesioner terhadap sampling rumah tanggadilakukan pada studi ini. Survei berupaya mengetahui berbagai karakteristik rumah tangga khususnyayang terkait dengan potensi bangkitan pergerakan dari rumah tangga tersebut, misalnya karakteristik jumlah anggota, pendapatan, tingkat pemilikan kendaraan bermotor (mobil dan sepeda motor) dan jumlah pekerja yang ada dalam suatu rumah tangga. Analisis potensi besaran bangkitan pergerakankomuter dari perumahan di lokasi studi dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan model regresi linearberganda. Hasil analisis memperlihatkan bahwa tingkat pendapatan, dan jumlah orang kerja, dan jumlahanggota keluarga dalam suatu rumah tangga menjadi faktor utama potensi bangkitan pergerakan komuterdari perumahan yang berlokasi dipinggiran kota. Adapun variabel tingkat kepemilikan kendaraanbermotor kurang signifikan mempengaruhi bangkitan perjalan komuter pinggiran kota. Hasil-hasil yangdicapai pada studi ini dapat digunakan untuk menganalisis dan memodelkan berbagai aspek pengambilankeputusan para komuter pinggiran kota khususnya dalam hal pemodelan pemilihan waktu keberangkatandan moda kendaraan yang akan digunakannya, pada studi-studi lanjutan dimasa mendatan

    Vehicle Operation Cost and Load Factor of Inter-City Micro-Bus Transit in Mamminasata Metropolitan Area

    The objective of this paper is to describe the current vehicle operation cost (VOC) and load factor (LF) performance of the micro-bus transit (namely, Pete-pete) which has been operating as an inter-city public transport in Mamminasata Metropolitan Area (MMA) in South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia. The study focuses on the three origin-destination trips of the public transport in the area, i.e. Makassar-Maros route, Makassar-Sungguminasa route, and Makassar-Takalar route. The VOC survey for the transits uses interview method, while its analysis adopts Indonesia Ministry of Transportation. Meanwhile, the LF measurement is conducted by distance zone system as long as the transit???s route. The analysis results show that the three routes have similar VOC categorized as highly cost. As well as, the three routes have low LF performance. The study results are useful in development of the public transportation management such as mode and route choice models in MMA for further studies
