Hadronic and radiative three-body decays of J/psi involving the scalars f0(1370), f0(1500) and f0(1710)
We study the role of the scalar resonances f0(1370), f0(1500) and f0(1710) in
the strong and radiative three-body decays of J/psi with J/psi to V + P P
(gamma gamma) and J/psi to gamma + P P (V V), where P (V) denotes a
pseudoscalar (vector) meson. We assume that the scalars result from a
glueball-quarkonium mixing scheme while the dynamics of the transition process
is described in an effective chiral Lagrangian approach. Present data on J/psi
to V + P P are well reproduced, predictions for the radiative processes serve
as further tests of this scenario.Comment: 15 page
Caracterización de la producción de mantas de carne salada y seca de ovinos y caprinos en ambiente preindustrial
Food safety it’s crucial for our life and this study has the purpose to
characterize some microbiologic parameters in a pre-industrial company when producing
salted and cured meat Meat from sheep and goat was transformed in a semi-industrial local
and traditional firm to produce a salted and dried meat product, called as manta. In this work
was assemble the total number of mesophyll and psychrophiles bacteria (ufc/g),
Staphylococcus aureus, yeasts and molds, sulphite reducing clostridia (NMP/g), total
coliforms, E. coli and the presence of Salmonela spp. With exception to Salmonella spp. in
all determinations the achieved scores in the production of manta in pre-industrial
environment had more countable microorganisms than laboratorial essay. These results
showed that the company must have a higher control in the hygienic conditions in all the
processes, also forewarn the employees to a better person hygienic stat
Autenticidad de salchichas de carne de ovino y caprino
The aim of this work was to contribute to the fabrication of a new of product, a
fresh sausage based on meat from culled sheep and goat animals as a way to give added
value to animals with very low marketing price. A total of 280 animals, 140 ewes and 140
goats were slaughtered, during seven months. The fabrication of sausages was carried out
at a local industry and two samples of goat and sheep sausages were taken every month.
Laboratory analyses of all parameters were made by triplicate. Concerning the fatty acids
profile, it was checked that the main fatty acids (oleic acid (C18:1), palmitic acid (C16:0), stearic
acid (C18:0) and linolenic acid (C18:2)), influenced the different fractions which characterize
them (monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA), saturated fatty acids (SFA) and polyunsaturated
fatty acids (PUFA). Fatty acids profile could be also used as authentication tools for further
monitoring and fraud detection in this kind of traditional food product
Lessons from crossing symmetry at large N
20 pages, v2: Assumptions stated more clearly, version published in JHEPWe consider the four-point correlator of the stress tensor multiplet in N=4 SYM. We construct all solutions consistent with crossing symmetry in the limit of large central charge c ~ N^2 and large g^2 N. While we find an infinite tower of solutions, we argue most of them are suppressed by an extra scale \Delta_{gap} and are consistent with the upper bounds for the scaling dimension of unprotected operators observed in the numerical superconformal bootstrap at large central charge. These solutions organize as a double expansion in 1/c and 1/\Delta_{gap}. Our solutions are valid to leading order in 1/c and to all orders in 1/\Delta_{gap} and reproduce, in particular, instanton corrections previously found. Furthermore, we find a connection between such upper bounds and positivity constraints arising from causality in flat space. Finally, we show that certain relations derived from causality constraints for scattering in AdS follow from crossing symmetry.Peer reviewe
PosterVote:expanding the action repertoire for local political activism
Online and digital technologies support and extend the action repertoires of localized social movements. In this paper we examine the ways by which digital technologies can support ‘on-the-ground ’ activist communities in the development of social movements. After identifying some of the challenges of deploying conventional voting and consultation technologies for activism, we examine situated political action in local communities through the design and deployment of a low-cost community voting prototype, PosterVote. We deploy PosterVote in two case studies with two local community organizations identifying the features that supported or hindered grassroots democratic practices. Through interviews with these communities, we explore the design of situated voting systems to support grassroots democratic practices and participation within an ecology of social action.
Holographic studies of quasi-topological gravity
Quasi-topological gravity is a new gravitational theory including
curvature-cubed interactions and for which exact black hole solutions were
constructed. In a holographic framework, classical quasi-topological gravity
can be thought to be dual to the large limit of some non-supersymmetric
but conformal gauge theory. We establish various elements of the AdS/CFT
dictionary for this duality. This allows us to infer physical constraints on
the couplings in the gravitational theory. Further we use holography to
investigate hydrodynamic aspects of the dual gauge theory. In particular, we
find that the minimum value of the shear-viscosity-to-entropy-density ratio for
this model is .Comment: 45 pages, 6 figures. v2: References adde
Holographic GB gravity in arbitrary dimensions
We study the properties of the holographic CFT dual to Gauss-Bonnet gravity
in general dimensions. We establish the AdS/CFT dictionary and in
particular relate the couplings of the gravitational theory to the universal
couplings arising in correlators of the stress tensor of the dual CFT. This
allows us to examine constraints on the gravitational couplings by demanding
consistency of the CFT. In particular, one can demand positive energy fluxes in
scattering processes or the causal propagation of fluctuations. We also examine
the holographic hydrodynamics, commenting on the shear viscosity as well as the
relaxation time. The latter allows us to consider causality constraints arising
from the second-order truncated theory of hydrodynamics.Comment: 48 pages, 9 figures. v2: New discussion on free fields in subsection
3.3 and new appendix B on conformal tensor fields. Added comments on the
relation between the central charge appearing in the two-point function and
the "central charge" characterizing the entropy density in the discussion.

Universality and exactness of Schrodinger geometries in string and M-theory
We propose an organizing principle for classifying and constructing
Schrodinger-invariant solutions within string theory and M-theory, based on the
idea that such solutions represent nonlinear completions of linearized vector
and graviton Kaluza-Klein excitations of AdS compactifications. A crucial
simplification, derived from the symmetry of AdS, is that the nonlinearities
appear only quadratically. Accordingly, every AdS vacuum admits infinite
families of Schrodinger deformations parameterized by the dynamical exponent z.
We exhibit the ease of finding these solutions by presenting three new
constructions: two from M5 branes, both wrapped and extended, and one from the
D1-D5 (and S-dual F1-NS5) system. From the boundary perspective, perturbing a
CFT by a null vector operator can lead to nonzero beta-functions for spin-2
operators; however, symmetry restricts them to be at most quadratic in
couplings. This point of view also allows us to easily prove nonrenormalization
theorems: for any Sch(z) solution of two-derivative supergravity constructed in
the above manner, z is uncorrected to all orders in higher derivative
corrections if the deforming KK mode lies in a short multiplet of an AdS
supergroup. Furthermore, we find infinite classes of 1/4 BPS solutions with
4-,5- and 7-dimensional Schrodinger symmetry that are exact.Comment: 31 pages, plus appendices; v2, minor corrections, added refs, slight
