Brazilian Scientific Journals in Surgery: quality control in the abstract structure of non-experimental articles

PURPOSE: To evaluate the quality of abstracts of original non-experimental research articles in Brazilian Journals in Surgery. METHODS: Convenience sample of 471 abstracts of original research articles from six Brazilian surgical journals indexed in Thomson Reuters (ISI) Web of Knowledge. The quality of abstracts was measured against a checklist of eight evaluation criteria, which were divided into 32 categories. The total score for each abstract was obtained by summing the score of all criteria present. The overall mean score was also determined. RESULTS: The overall mean score of abstract quality was that of a good abstract. Most of the abstracts contained some information from each of the eight basic categories of an abstract. All abstracts were structured ones. A profile of researchers in speech, language and hearing science with productivity grants from (CNPq)

PURPOSE: to identify the profile of research productivity grants of ConselhoNacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq) in the area of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences. METHODS: from the list of grantees of research productivity in the area of Speech with current grants in 2010, were verified characteristics of training, publishing articles in databases: LILACS, SciELO Brazil, MEDLINE, and Web of Science, identifying the production of scientific articles of scholarship in the Brazilian scientific community, published between 2006-2010. It was also used the JCR indicator and the Qualis classification for analysis of journals. RESULTS:of the 46 grantees, 45 (98%) are graduated in Speech, Language and Hearing Science and are engaged in teaching activities, 22 (47.83%) in the Southeast and 24 (52.17%) have institutional affiliation in public universities. Regarding production, were identified 935 articles, of which 816 (87.27%) in 48 Brazilian journals and 119 (12.72%)in 47 foreign journals. With respect to journals, from 95 Brazilian and foreign titles analyzed, 38 (40%) showed no impact factor. CONCLUSIONS:the presence of women is great in this knowledge area, with the highest occurrence of PQ researchers with institutional affiliation in public universities, located in the Southeast and South country regions. The analysis of scientific articles production from scholars of Speech tended to publish their articles in Brazilian journals, while seeking editorial quality: peer-reviewed and indexed in databases, combined with the JCR indicator and the Qualis classification.OBJETIVO:identificar o perfil dos bolsistas de produtividade em pesquisa do Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico - CNPq, na área de Fonoaudiologia.MÉTODOS:a partir da lista dos bolsistas de produtividade da área de Fonoaudiologia com bolsas vigentes em 2010, foram verificadas características de formação, publicação de artigos nas bases de dados: LILACS, SciELO Brasil, MEDLINE e Web of Science, identificando a produção de artigos científicos dos bolsistas na comunidade científica brasileira, publicados no período de 2006-2010. Também foi utilizado o indicador JCR e a classificação Qualis para análise das revistas.RESULTADOS:das 46 bolsistas, 45 (98%) são graduadas em Fonoaudiologia e exercem a atividade de docência, 22 (47,83%) na Região Sudeste e 24 (52,17%) têm vínculo institucional nas universidades públicas (estaduais). Em relação à produção, foram identificados 935 artigos, sendo 816 (87,27%) em 48 revistas brasileiras e 119 (12,72%)em 47 revistas estrangeiras.Comrespeito às revistas, dos 95 títulos brasileiros e estrangeiros analisados, 38 (40%) não apresentam o fator de impacto.CONCLUSÕES:a presença feminina é grande nesta área do conhecimento, sendo a maior ocorrência de pesquisadoras PQ com vinculação institucional nas universidades públicas, localizadas nas regiões Sudeste e Sul do país. Plano de marketing do Restaurante Pirandello’s de Lagoa Nova

A Marketing Plan is essencial to an organization because it allows the final strategy to be aligned with the marketing actions, ensuring more directed actions to the organization. The current work has the goal to develop a Marketing Plan to the Restaurante Pirandello’s of Lagoa Nova, to better analyze the marketplace and define the goals and strategies aligned. With that in mind, an online quiz, with 105 answers, was applied to the clients, along with an interview with the collaborators and the owner, to identify their opinion about the establishment. The data was treated quantitatively and qualitatively, being possible to conclude that the restaurant has, overall, good reviews, but also has the potential to keep getting better and grow in the future. With some actions already in progress it is noticeable the importance of following the market trends.Um Plano de Marketing é essencial para a organização pois permite que ela alinhe a sua estratégia final com ações de marketing, garantindo ações mais direcionadas para a organização. O presente trabalho tem como objetivo desenvolver um Plano de Marketing para o Restaurante Pirandello’s de Lagoa Nova, para poder analisar melhor o mercado e definir objetivos e estratégias alinhados. Para isso foi realizada uma pesquisa exploratória descritiva e desenvolvido um questionário online, que obteve 105 respostas dos clientes da organização e uma entrevista com 2 colaboradores e o proprietário, para identificar a opinião deles com o estabelecimento. Os dados foram tratados de forma quantitativa e qualitativa, com isso foi possível concluir que o restaurante tem boas avaliações gerais, mas que mesmo assim tem potencial de melhorias para desenvolvimento e expansão futura. Já com algumas ações em andamento é perceptível a importância de o estabelecimento acompanhar as tendências de mercado

A single-case study treated with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy: Analysis of outcomes and the referential process

openNonostante il dialogo tra ricerca e pratica clinica psicoterapeutica sia storicamente difficile e complesso, negli ultimi anni si è osservato un reciproco avvicinamento. Da un lato, le ricerche si stanno sempre più concentrando sulla situazione terapeutica quotidiana, osservando ciò che avviene durante il processo terapeutico e integrandolo poi con i risultati ottenuti al termine del trattamento. Dall’altro, la pratica clinica stessa si rende disponibile ad essere studiata e valutata, con il fine di poter utilizzare, a seconda del caso, le tecniche più efficaci e valide. Seguendo questa prospettiva, nel presente elaborato di tesi ci occuperemo di studiare un caso singolo trattato con l’Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), valutando se e attraverso quali processi si osserva un cambiamento nella paziente. Il primo capitolo sarà dedicato all’ambito della ricerca in psicoterapia. Verranno prese in considerazione le principali aree di ricerca che si sono sviluppate e intrecciate nel tempo, focalizzandoci in modo particolare sulla ricerca single-case. Si procederà poi approfondendo la Teoria del Codice Multiplo di Wilma Bucci e il costrutto psicologico dell’attività referenziale, che, insieme al processo referenziale, saranno oggetto del nostro studio sul processo. Inoltre, verrà introdotta l’Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) quale approccio terapeutico utilizzato nel caso trattato. Il secondo capitolo sarà invece dedicato alla metodologia della ricerca. Verranno esaminati gli strumenti scelti per la misura dell’outcome e del processo terapeutico, quali rispettivamente il Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory (MCMI-III) e l’Italian Discourse Attributes Analysis Program (IDAAP). Successivamente, verrà presentato il caso clinico e la procedura seguita, per giungere alle ipotesi di lavoro e all’esposizione dei risultati racconti. Il terzo e ultimo capitolo si concentrerà sulla discussione dei dati, saranno considerate le ipotesi iniziali e verrà argomentato quanto emerso. Inoltre, verranno esposte alcune riflessioni sulla messa in pratica delle teorie e tecniche proposte, evidenziandone i possibili punti di congiunzione. Infine, saranno indicati i limiti del lavoro e i possibili sviluppi futuri

Ulcer healing and mechanism(s) of action involved in the gastroprotective activity of fractions obtained from Syngonanthus arthrotrichus and Syngonanthus bisulcatus

Abstract Background Syngonanthus arthrotrichus and Syngonanthus bisulcatus, currently known for Comanthera aciphylla (Bong.) L.R.Parra & Giul. and Comanthera bisulcata (Koern.) L.R. Parra & Giul, popularly known in Brazil as “sempre-vivas,” are plants from the family Eriocaulaceae. They are found in the states of Minas Gerais and Bahia. The species are known to be rich in flavonoids to which their gastroprotective activity has been attributed. In this research, experimental protocols were performed to elucidate the associated mechanisms of action. Methods The activity was evaluated using induced gastric ulcer models (acetic acid and ethanol-induced gastric lesions in NEM or L-NAME pre-treated mice, and by ischemia/reperfusion). Antioxidant enzymes, serum somatostatin, and gastrin were also evaluated. Results In chronic gastric ulcers, a single daily oral dose of Sa-FRF or Sb-FRF (100 mg/kg body wt.) for 14 consecutive days accelerated ulcer healing to an extent similar to that seen with an equal dose of cimetidine. The pre-treatment of mice with NEM (N-ethylmaleimide) or L-NAME (N-nitro-L-arginine) abolished the protective activity of Sa-FRF, Sa-FDF, Sb-FDF and Sb-FRF or Sa-FRF and Sb-FRF, respectively, which indicates that antioxidant compounds and nitric oxide synthase activity are involved in the gastroprotective. Sa-FRF and Sb-FRF (100 mg/kg p.o) protected the gastric mucosa against ulceration that was induced by ischemia/reperfusion (72 and 76 %, respectively). It also decreased lipid peroxidation and restored total thiols in the gastric wall of mice that had been treated with ethanol. When administered to rats submitted to ethanol-induced gastric lesions, Sa-FRF and Sb-FRF (100 mg/kg, p.o.) increased the somatostatin serum levels, while the gastrin serum levels were proportionally decreased. Conclusions The results indicate significant healing effects and gastroprotective activity for the Sa-FRF and Sb-FRF, which probably involves the participation of SH groups, nitric oxide (NO), the antioxidant system, somatostatin, and gastrin. All are integral parts of the gastrointestinal mucosa’s cytoprotective mechanisms against aggressive factors

Análise de aspectos legais relacionados à implementação da fiscalização direta do excesso de peso no contexto brasileiro

Curso de Especialização em Operações Rodoviárias.A prática do sobrepeso, além de contribuir para a deterioração precoce dos pavimentos, leva à redução de condições de tráfego seguras, econômicas e confortáveis e, por conseguinte, ao comprometimento da segurança viária e à ocorrência de acidentes. Nesse sentido, a fiscalização direta do excesso de peso se configura como um modelo de pesagem mais dissuasivo, no que se refere à coibição da prática do sobrepeso, quando comparada com as pesagens estáticas ou baseada em sistemas LS-WIM. Entretanto, apesar de ser mundialmente entendida como viável de ocorrer, a sua efetiva implementação e operacionalização, tendo como referência o contexto brasileiro de fiscalização, encontra dificuldades relativas, não só a questões técnico-metrológicas, mas também com relação ademais dispositivos legais e normativos, a saber pelo fundamento que leva à admissão de tolerâncias sobre os limites de peso regulamentares, pelos valores das multas, pela forma como se faz prevista a realização de medidas administrativas e, por fim, questões relacionadas à evasão de áreas de pesagem. Tais aspectos legais foram analisados, de forma teórica, neste trabalho, tendo sido apontado, para fins de implementação da fiscalização direta no Brasil, a necessidade de adequações profundas dos mencionados dispositivos legais e normativos, bem como um maior uso de tecnologias ITS e de telecomunicações, e a integração dos órgãos e entidades que compõem o SNTThe overweight practice, besides contributing to the early deterioration of the pavements, leads to the reduction of the secures, economics and comfortable traffic conditions, and, consequently, to the compromise of safety and to the occurrence of accidents. In this sense, the direct overweight enforcement is configured as a more dissuasive weighing model , regarding the control of overweight practice , when it is compared to the static weighing, or the one based on LS - WIM systems. However, despite being globally understood as feasible to occur, its effective implementation and operationalization, in reference to the Brazilian enforcement context, encounters difficulties related n ot only to technical - metrological issues, but also to other legal and normative provisions, as the basis of the admissibility of tolerances over the regulatory weight limits, the fines values, the way in which administrative measures are developed, and fin ally, issues related to the evasion of weighing areas. weighing.
