Asi týden před zasedáním vědecké rady FHS UK 19. 1. 2006 jsem telefonoval Jarce Peškové, abychom dohodli záležitost jedné doktorské obhajoby. Banální záležitost běžného akademického provozu se komplikovala mým onemocněním, a jak se ukázalo, také profesorka Pešková byla nemocná. Nic nenormálního, v posledních létech byla Jarka častěji nemocná než zdravá. Záležitost jsme vyřídili v pár desítkách vteřin, pak jsme ještě chvilku klábosili a trumfovali se, kdo je nemocnější. Myslel jsem, že můj vánoční úraz převáží vahadlo na mou stranu, ale kdež, Jarka měla zase nějaké to celkové selhání a kolaps organismu. Po pár minutách debaty o nemocech jsme se dohodli, že víc si povíme ve čtvrtek, na vědecké radě. Lékaři sice v obou kausách doporučují nikam nechodit, ale rady lékařů je třeba brát s reservou

The Observed and projected temperature changes in the Alpine region

Pozorované a projektované změny teploty vzduchu v oblasti Alp Abstrakt Práce rešeršního typu porovnává a hodnotí časopiseckou literaturu k danému tématu; s větším zřetelem na Švýcarské Alpy. Úvodní kapitola se věnuje fyzické geografii regionu a připomíná specifika Alp, která hrají roli ve vztahu k cíli práce - oceánsko-kontinentální klima, specifické proudění vzduchu (např. fénovou cirkulaci), orientace svahů, příkrost svahů, sněžná čára, hranice lesa, výskyt ledovců a jezer - zejména pak charakteristiku teplotních poměrů v posledních letech. Další část práce se věnuje zevrubnější charakteristice v minulosti pozorovaných teplot. Teploty vykazují dlouhodobý trend zvyšování, přičemž toto je patrné zejména od roku 1980. Stálejší je spíše vývoj denních minim než denních maxim. Existuje určitá neshoda mezi porovnáním nižších a vyšších nadmořských výšek co se týče v nich pozorovaného teplotního vývoje, která může být dána metodikou výzkumu. Při pohledu na sezónní vývoj vykazuje největší citlivost na nadmořské výšky zimní období; nejmenší podzimní. Zdá se, že nadmořská výška pro míru oteplování nehraje takovou roli při pohybu nad nulovou izotermou. Dvě kategorizace emisních scénářů se aplikují při projektování budoucích teplot pomocí globálních i regionálních klimatických modelů, někdy též ve vysokém rozlišení (5...The observed and projected temperature changes in the Alpine region Abstract The paper presents comparison and evaluation of articles literature of the mentioned topic with a focus of the Swiss and Wallis Alps. The first chapter describes the physical geography of the region and mostly reminds us with Alpine specifics related to the paper's goal - ocean-continental climate, typical wind movement (the wind "foehn"), slopes orientation a steepness, snow line, forest bounds, existence of glaciers and lakes - and then mostly characterizes the air temperature in recent years. The next chapter analyzes observed temperatures in more detail. Temperatures show a long-term trend of increasing, particularly from the year 1980. More steady development is presented by the mean day minimum, rather than maximum. There is some debate when comparing lowlands and highlands - some works show bigger increase in lowlands than in highlands, some vice versa. This might be caused by the research methodology. When analyzing seasonal trends, the highest altitude sensitivity belongs to the winter season; the smallest sensitivity to the autumn. It appears that when above the 0 řC isotherm, the altitude is a small factor of the warming differences. Phenomenology as a Performance

The idea of phenomenology as a performance is taken from Bernhard Casper. It implies a strange reality that there is kind of an essential kinship between the discourse of Greek theatre, theatricality in general and philosophical discourse related to the idea of performance. In Greek theatre what is being demonstrated is not shown on the stage but rather on the PROSKÉNION. SKÉNÉ originally means the building from which actors enter the PROSKÉNION, when the roles of the first actor as opposed to the chorus were being separated away. Chorus performs in the orchestra and the entire situation presents time in very peculiar way. In fact, it wants to show that “time“ is somehow included more than once, at least twice. One time is that of the viewer: It is known that the Greek expression “to view” (THEOREIN) and “to be godly” (THEOS) shares common etymology; the term “theatre” (THEATRON) is also derived from that of watching, gazing. The time of a theatre performance represents yet another time scale: In theatre something is presented before one’s eyes, something that happened in another time and in a different way. The mythic topic that is shown primarily is already known to all spectators. In certain sense that is a prerequisite and also that what is happening in the theatre, sense of tragedy is KATHARSIS: Redemption of the viewer through particular understanding of the story. Everything takes place with one important prerequisite: Viewers shall watch what is happening on the SKENE, or hence on the proscenium. They should not attempt to see behind the scene; then their view shall not be obscene. It is very peculiar – if we consider the layout of Greek theatre and how it is arranged – its principal idea is linked to the fact that in every story, in every performance, there is something not to be seen, something not to be performed for a viewer, something that should remain hidden, that constitutes some adumbration of the entire story

Po příjezdu do amerického exilu na přelomu třicátých a čtyřicátých let zjistili Voskovec a Werich, že jejich plány na život v Americe nejsou bez komplikací. Chtěli se pro začátek živit vystupováním v krajanských sdruženích a to se neobešlo bez trapných nedorozumění. Krajané byli pohoršeni „amerikánskými písničkami" avantgardně orientovaných pražských intelektuálů a klaunové z Osvobozeného divadla s údivem sledovali, že přišli hledat pomoc do malého českého světa konzervovaných ideálů měšťáckého folklóru šmrncnutého vlastenčením konce minulého století, tedy do prostředí, jehož karikaturou začala jejich pražská divadelnická kariéra. Platí patrně obecně, že emigranti určité generace, pokud neasimilují s novým prostředím, přežívají kulturně právě upnutím se k ideálům, dobovému koloritu a jazyku oné fáze vývoje národního společenství, ve které starou vlast opouštějí

Shodou okolností mne profesor Komárek jako recenzent předběhl a jsem rád, že se tak stalo. Je pro tento úkol odborně fundován mnohem lépe než já. Téměř se vším, co Komárek napsal, souhlasím, posledních asi 10 řádek recenze na knihu B. Saxe a posléze snad i to, co Komárek pominul, vede mne k tomu, abych kolem závažného tématu zkusil rozvinout diskusi
