The paper presents the results of a doctoral research related to Information Systems evaluation in context. The authors propose changes in the context, the new level of contextual analysis was added: the system context located between the internal and external context. The system context reflects the fact that the case companies are business units and parts of the corporations and IS evaluation is influenced by the corporation, Three levels of context analysis can be used in case of IS evaluation in complex structures, such as corporations or supply chain

Efficiency of maximum power point tracking in photovoltaic system under variable solar irradiance

Field conditions decrease the energy output of photovoltaic (PV) systems, mainly due to excessive temperatures. However, in regions with moderate ambient temperatures, as in Poland, solar energy is commonly delivered with highly fluctuating irradiance. This introduces yet another source of energy losses due to the non-ideal tracking of actual position of Maximum Power Point (MPP). Majority of PV-systems are equipped with DC/AC and grid-connected inverter. Since the solar energy flux is variable, an adequate MPP-tracking algorithm is required to handle a wide range of load levels and face rapid changes of input power. Along with the essential DC/AC conversion, the quality of MPP-tracking must also be taken into account in evaluation of inverter efficiency. The tracking in dynamic conditions has been addressed only recently. Several algorithms has been studied theoretically, experimentally or in laboratory conditions by applying artificial input test-patterns. This work takes the opposite approach by applying the recorded real-life solar irradiance and simulating the tracking behavior to study the problem for true field conditions in Poland. The simulation uses the unique high-quality irradiance data collected with 200 ms time resolution. The calculation of both static and dynamic MPP-tracking efficiency has been performed for representative variable-cloudy day, applying commonly used Perturb&Observe tracking algorithm

Poznań regional vocabulary according to Richard E. Nisbett's concept of thinking geography

This article is an attempt to use the Richard Nisbett’s observations (the differences in the structure of parts of speech in the languages of East and West) to the Polish language and Poznań regional vocabulary. The analysis applies only to the lexical system, rather than the structure of words in texts. Studies confirm that the Polish language lexical system - both general and regional - is close to the languages of the West. This article is an attempt to use the Richard Nisbett’s observations (the differences in the structure of parts of speech in the languages of East and West) to the Polish language and Poznań regional vocabulary. Growing competition, higher customers expectations involved changes in business models. Today company’s staff have to be closer to the customers, to better understand their needs, provide faster and better service. This situation creates new problems; It is difficult to control and manage staff what spends most of their time outside of the office, also are problems with communication between company and workers. Traditional voice phones are not enough to send all required information, especially when electronic data (e-mails, internet pages) getting more and more important. One possible solution to solve these problems are mobile business (m-enterprise) systems, which base on wireless communication and mobile devices. In this article are describes examples how mobile solutions can be connected with enterprise Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems to provide support for sales and service staff.Wzrastające wymagania klientów i konkurencja powodują, iż pracownicy muszą spędzać coraz więcej czasu poza przedsiębiorstwem. W artykule przedstawione zostały wybrane rozwiązania informatyczne oparte o technologie mobilne, w powiązaniu z systemem zarządzania relacjami z klientem, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), oraz sposób, w jaki mogą one pomóc w obszarze wspierania sprzedaży i serwisu technicznego.Zadanie pt. „Digitalizacja i udostępnienie w Cyfrowym Repozytorium Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego kolekcji czasopism naukowych wydawanych przez Uniwersytet Łódzki” nr 885/P-DUN/2014 zostało dofinansowane ze środków MNiSW w ramach działalności upowszechniającej nauk

Based on a questionnaire survey conducted in a group of 100 students from the two Poznań seminaries, the authors of the article are trying to reconstruct the language awareness of young clergy in the field of polite linguistic habits. The responses show that for the vast majority of clerics language politeness is perceived as an action focused on interpretation (as an individual and socially), that they well understand its importance for communication, that they consider both a lack of politeness and exaggerated, artificial politeness as improper. Some respondents use the vocabulary associated with religion (e.g. bliźni, brat, chrześcijański), and they also indicate a kind of compulsion to be polite – the need to respect the rules of political correctness. Clerics recognize the differences between the politeness of language in their dealings with their peers and with older people, especially with the larger distance in relation to the elderly. In addition, they take into account, although less frequently, age, dependence on the environment, education, level of maturity. Klerycy dostrzegają różnice między grzecznością językową w swoich kontaktach z rówieśnikami a z osobami starszymi zwłaszcza w większym dystansie w stosunku do starszych. Poza wiekiem uwzględniają oni, choć rzadziej, zależność od środowiska, wychowania, poziomu dojrzałości

The article deals with several urbanonyms existing in the urban Polish language of Poznań and connected with Adam Mickiewicz Square and the two monuments located there: of Adam Mickiewicz and of the Poznań 1956 Protests. The material has been collected by means of a survey which was conducted among 100 Polish language students and 120 older persons (at the age of 35–85 years). The results of studies enabled scholars to observe a great onymic inventiveness of Poznań residents, constantly creating new, distinctly motivated urbanonyms, as well as a significant liveliness and an important role of those names in everyday linguistic communication of the city’s residents, and, consequently – in the regional variety of the Polish language. The article deals with several urbanonyms existing in the urban Polish language of Poznań and connected with Adam Mickiewicz Square and the two monuments located there: of Adam Mickiewicz and of the Poznań 1956 Protests. A two-dimensional lattice of blue detuned atom traps using a projected Gaussian beam array

We describe a new type of blue detuned optical lattice for atom trapping which is intrinsically two dimensional, while providing three-dimensional atom localization. The lattice is insensitive to optical phase fluctuations since it does not depend on field interference between distinct optical beams. The array is created using a novel arrangement of weakly overlapping Gaussian beams that creates a two-dimensional array of dark traps which are suitable for magic trapping of ground and Rydberg states. We analyze the spatial localization that can be achieved and demonstrate trapping and detection of single Cs atoms in 6 and 49 site two-dimensional arrays.Comment: Fig. 1 caption extended, to appear Phys.
