This research was conducted to reveal the effect of the Gibberellins concentration (GA3) on the content of crude protein (CP), acid detergent fiber (ADF) and neutral detergent fiber (NDF) of Calopogonium caeruleum. The design of experiment was the Completely Randomized Design (CRD) in factorial arrangement. The first factors were the concentrations of GA3 namely 0, 100, 200, 300, 400 and 500 ppm, for G0,G1, G2, G3, G4, and G5 respectively and the second factors were the soaking time at 6, 12 and 24 h, for T1, T2 and T3 respectively. Each treatment has three replications. The results showed that there were not significant (P< 0.05) effect of the concentration of GA3 on the content of CP, ADF and NDF of Calopogonium caeruleu

This study aimed to determine the relationship between family support and tuberculosis drug's compliance. This was analytic research with cross sectional approach the dynamics of the correlation between the two variables simultaneously at a time. The total number of respondent was 58 choosed by accidental sampling technique with inclusion and exlusion criteria. The instrument was questionnaires with 19 questions that has been tested for validity and reliability. The data were analyzed by univarate and bivariate with chi- square test. The result showed that there was relationship between family support and tuberculosis drug's compliance with p value=0,036. Based on these results, it is expected to further improve the family members of the family support that affect medication adherence of TB patients

Classroom situations that are less motivated, there is no teaching materials that can guide students' self-learning and learning-centered to lecturers resulted in students having difficulty in understanding the matter and solve the problems. This situation would require settlement solutions, including need to develop learning material that can help improve learning outcomes and student motivation and stimulate students to be more active. Among them learning material in the form of modules and learning model that can involve the activity of students, learning independently and carry out a project and collaborate to improve learning outcomes and produce a product that can be communicated to others. This type of research was research and development. The development model used is the 4-D comprising the steps of defining, design, development and disseminates. Subjects were students of class I A and B Physics Education Major Faculty of Education and Teacher Training Pasir Pengaraian University. Data were collected using the data collection instruments. Based on development and dissemination test, it has been found that the learning material in Basic Physics I using a project-based learning model could address the needs of students in the Physical Education in learning activities

Jernang (Daemonorops draco (Willd.) Blume) is a dioecious rattan species that produces resin on female individuals. The sex of jernang can only be identified from its inflorescences morphology. Sex survey was conducted in 5 populations of jernang, 3 populations of which in the Bukit Tigapuluh National Park (BTNP), 1 population in the secondary forest in Jambi province and 1 population in the area of rubber plantation in Jambi province. Chi-Squared test on the sex ratio of jernang showed that the ratio of the male to female in their natural habitat (Bengayoan and Tebo, 2 parts of the BTNP ecosystem and the Sepintun secondary forest) was distorted from the normal ratio of 1:1, while the cultivated jernang in Nunusan population (BTNPT) and Mandiangin were not significantly different from the normal sex ratio of 1:1. Female individuals from the cultivated population in the Mandiangin (planted in 1997) has an average number of stems per clump more on individual males (27.12) than females (26.92). The result of this study indicated that the D. draco has a good reproductive strategy and thus suitable for cultivation

A regular menstrual cycle is an important indicator of a healthy reproductive system. Menstrual problems affect not only women but also families, social & national economy as well. The menstrual cycle is divided into two 14-day phases. In normal healthy women, menarche occurs between the ages 10 and 16 years, with an average rhythm of 28 days, inclusive of 4–6 days of bleeding, with some common minor variations like Amenorrhoea, Oligomenorrhoea, Polymenorrhoea, Menorrhagia, Hypomenorrhoea, etc., these menstrual disorders frequently affect the quality of life of young adults women, some of the lifestyle factors like obesity, intake of junk food, stress, lack of physical activity, skipping breakfast are associated with irregular menstruation. The purpose of this study is to identify menstrual irregularities and assess the impact of lifestyle factors and on the menstrual patterns in reproductive-age females

An experiment on the effect of elicitor concentrations derived from Pythium aphanidermatum (Edson) Fitzp on ajmalicine content of Catharanthus roseus (L.) G. Don Cell aggregates culture has been conducted. The following concentrations of elicitor tested were 0.05; 0.5; 1.0 and 5.0 mg DW/mL. The harvesting times were 0; 18; 36 and 72 hours after elicitation. The ajmalicine was analyzed qualitatively and quantitavely by using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). Ajmalicine content was influenced by the concentration of elicitor and harvesting time. The highest content of ajmalicine in the cell aggregates (13.089 ± 0.086 µg/gDW) was achieved by addition 1.0 mg DW/mL of elicitor after 18 hours whilts in the medium (346.728 ± 2.843 µg/gDW) was achieved by addition 1.0 mg DW/mL of elicitor after 36 hour

Computational Predictive and Electrochemical Detection of Metabolites (CP-EDM) of Piperine

    Get PDF
In this article, we introduce a proof-of-concept strategy, Computational Predictive and Electrochemical Detection of Metabolites (CP-EDM), to expedite the discovery of drug metabolites. The use of a bioactive natural product, piperine, that has a well-curated metabolite profile but an unpredictable computational metabolism (Biotransformer v3.0) was selected. We developed an electrochemical reaction to oxidize piperine into a range of metabolites, which were detected by LC-MS. A series of chemically plausible metabolites were predicted based on ion fragmentation patterns. These metabolites were docked into the active site of CYP3A4 using Autodock4.2. From the clustered low-energy profile of piperine in the active site, it can be inferred that the most likely metabolic position of piperine (based on intermolecular distances to the Fe-oxo active site) is the benzo[d][1,3]dioxole motif. The metabolic profile was confirmed by comparison with the literature, and the electrochemical reaction delivered plausible metabolites, vide infra, thus, demonstrating the power of the hyphenated technique of tandem electrochemical detection and computational evaluation of binding poses. Taken together, we outline a novel approach where diverse data sources are combined to predict and confirm a metabolic outcome for a bioactive structure
