Anodic Aluminum Oxide Membrane-Assisted Fabrication of β-In2S3Nanowires

In this study, β-In2S3nanowires were first synthesized by sulfurizing the pure Indium (In) nanowires in an AAO membrane. As FE-SEM results, β-In2S3nanowires are highly ordered, arranged tightly corresponding to the high porosity of the AAO membrane used. The diameter of the β-In2S3nanowires is about 60 nm with the length of about 6–8 μm. Moreover, the aspect ratio of β-In2S3nanowires is up to 117. An EDS analysis revealed the β-In2S3nanowires with an atomic ratio of nearly S/In = 1.5. X-ray diffraction and corresponding selected area electron diffraction patterns demonstrated that the β-In2S3nanowire is tetragonal polycrystalline. The direct band gap energy (Eg) is 2.40 eV from the optical measurement, and it is reasonable with literature

Stability and thermophysical properties of azithromycin dihydrate

AbstractThe aim of this paper was to describe the temperature effect on the stability and the thermophysical properties of azithromycin (AZ). First, the density, the heat capacity and the solubility of original (commercial) AZ were determined. Second, the original samples were heated at 50°C and 80°C and their PLM, DSC, TGA and XRD data were compared to those of the original AZ. According to our results, the original AZ was a dihydrate which converted to anhydrate when heated up to 80°C. The dehydration induced a change of crystal habit while the crystalline lattice remained unchanged

Graphene Oxide as a Platform for Copper Pentacyanonitrosylferrate Nanoparticles and their Behavior in the Electro‐oxidation of N‐Acetylcysteine

    No full text
This work describes the preparation of graphene oxide by the Modified Hummers Method and the chemical modification of its surface with nanoparticles of copper pentacyanonitrosylferrate(III) (GOCuNP). The materials obtained were characterized by Raman spectroscopy, x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The GOCuNP was characterized by cyclic voltammetry using a graphite paste electrode that presented electrocatalytic response for N-acetylcysteine with detection limit of 2.97x10(-5) mol L(-1)at concentration range of 3.00x10(-5)to 6.00x10(-3) mol L(-1)of N-acetylcysteine. By this way, the bimetallic complex formed is included in the list of materials obtained as potential candidates for the construction of electrochemical sensors for N-acetylcysteine detection.Univ Estadual Paulista, Fac Engn Ilha Solteira, Dept Fis & Quim, Ave Brasil 56, BR-15385000 Ilha Solteira, SP, BrazilUniv Sao Paulo, Sao Carlos Inst Phys, POB 369, BR-13560970 Sao Carlos, SP, BrazilUniv Estadual Paulista, Fac Engn Ilha Solteira, Dept Fis & Quim, Ave Brasil 56, BR-15385000 Ilha Solteira, SP, Brazi
