    WroNG -- Wroclaw Neutrino Generator of events for single pion production

    We constructed a new Monte Carlo generator of events for neutrino CC single pion production on free nucleon targets. The code uses dynamical models of the DIS with the PDFs modified according to the recent JLab data and of the Delta excitation. A comparison with experimental data was done in three channels for the total cross sections and for the distributions of events in invariant hadronic mass.Comment: 6 pages, 13 figures, Presented by J.T.     Comparison of predictions for nuclear effects in the Marteau model with the NUX+FLUKA scheme

    Nuclear effects in neutrino-nucleus reactions simulated by means of the NUX+FLUKA Monte Carlo generator are compared with the theoretical predictions of the Marteau model. Pion absorption in NUX+FLUKA and non-pionic Delta decays in the Marteau model differ by about 30%. The fraction of pions produced due to the re-interactions after primary quasi-elastic vertex is in the NUX+FLUKA scheme much higher then provided by the Marteau model.Comment: 6 pages, 8 figures, Presented by J.A.     A New Neutrino Cross Section Database

    We describe a new web based data resource being developed to provide access to accurate and validated cross sections of low energy neutrino and antineutrino interactions. The proposed content of this database are outlined which cover total and differential cross from inclusive, quasi-elastic and exclusive pion production processes from charged and neutral current interactions.     Simulations from a new neutrino event generator

    We construct a new Monte Carlo generator of events for neutrino interactions. The dynamical models for quasi-elastic reactions, Δ\Delta excitation and more inelastic events described by the DIS formalism with the PDFs modified according to recent JLab data are used. We describe in detail single pion production channels, which combine the Δ\Delta excitation and DIS contribution.     We present MiniBooNE's preliminary numu charged-current single pion (CC1pi) cross section measurement, calculated using the ratio to charge current quasi-elastic (CCQE) events.     Charged current weak production of the Delta resonance

    The charge changing weak production of Delta in nucleons and nuclei is studied. The reactions e^{-} p -> Delta^{0} \nu_{e} and e^{+} p -> Delta^{++} \bar{\nu}_{e} are considered as a possible source of information about the weak N-Delta transition form factors. The low q^2 BNL data on neutrino production of Delta are used to extract the axial vector N-Delta coupling, taking into account the deuteron structure and the Delta width. Finally, pion production induced by neutrinos in ^{16}O in the Delta region, relevant to atmospheric neutrino experiments, is investigated.Comment: 4 pages, 2 figures.     Transport study of charged current interactions in neutrino-nucleus reactions

    Within a dynamical transport approach we investigate charged current interactions in neutrino-nucleus reactions for neutrino energies of 0.3 - 1.5 GeV with particular emphasis on resonant pion production channels via the Δ33(1232)\Delta_{33}(1232) resonance. The final-state-interactions of the resonance as well as of the emitted pions are calculated explicitly for 12C^{12}C and 56Fe^{56}Fe nuclei and show a dominance of pion suppression at moderate momenta pπ>p_\pi > 0.2 GeV/c. A comparison to integrated π+\pi^+ spectra for νμ+12C\nu_\mu + ^{12}C reactions with the available (preliminary) data demonstrates a reasonable agreement.Comment: 13 pages incl. 6 eps-figures; computational error in final state interactions corrected; to be published in Phys.     Single Pion Production in Neutrino Reactions and Estimates for Charge-Exchange Effects

    We calculate single pion production by neutrinos in the resonance region. We consider both charged and neutral current reactions on free protons and neutrons. We present differential and total cross sections which can be compared with experiments. Then we use these results to calculate the spectra of the emerging pions including the Pauli suppression factor and rescattering corrections for reactions in heavy nuclei. Our results will be useful for studying single pion production and for investigating neutrino oscillations in future experiments.Comment: 20 pages, 16 figure

    On two weak CC Delta production models

    We perform a detail analysis of two models of neutrino CC Delta production on free nucleons. First model is a standard one based on nucleon-Delta transition current with several form-factors. Second model is a starting point for a construction of Marteau model with sophisticated analytical computations of nuclear effects.     Methods to Determine Neutrino Flux at Low Energies:Investigation of the Low ν\nu Method

    We investigate the "low-ν\nu" method (developed by the CCFR/NUTEV collaborations) to determine the neutrino flux in a wide band neutrino beam at very low energies, a region of interest to neutrino oscillations experiments. Events with low hadronic final state energy ν<νcut\nu<\nu_{cut} (of 1, 2 and 5 GeV) were used by the MINOS collaboration to determine the neutrino flux in their measurements of neutrino (νμ\nu_\mu) and antineutrino (\nub_\mu) total cross sections. The lowest νμ\nu_\mu energy for which the method was used in MINOS is 3.5 GeV, and the lowest \nub_\mu energy is 6 GeV. At these energies, the cross sections are dominated by inelastic processes. We investigate the application of the method to determine the neutrino flux for νμ\nu_\mu, \nub_\mu energies as low as 0.7 GeV where the cross sections are dominated by quasielastic scattering and Δ\Delta(1232) resonance production. We find that the method can be extended to low energies by using νcut\nu_{cut} values of 0.25 and 0.50 GeV, which is feasible in fully active neutrino detectors such as MINERvA.Comment: 25 pages, 32 figures, to be published in European Physics Journal
