Piensiemenlevittimien ryhmävertailu
Opinnäytetyössä tutkitaan kolmen eri piensiemenlevittimen levitysominaisuuksia sekä vertaillaan levittimien levitystarkkuuksia ja niiden välillä olevia vaihtelukertoimia. Vertailussa käytetään yhtä pneumaattista levitintä ja kahta sähkötoimista piensiemenlevitintä. Työssä selvitetään levittimien työleveyttä, tarkkuutta ja siemenien sopivuutta eri koneiden välillä. Tavoitteena on saada tietoa, pitävätkö tehtaan asettamat levitysarvot paikkansa.
Levityskokeita tehtiin eri siemenillä, lannoitteella ja nurmiseoksella. Levitystestiä varten piensiemenkylvökoneisiin asennettiin kierroslukumittari, jolla mitattiin kuormittamatonta ja kuormitettua levityslautasen pyörimisnopeutta. Tutkimukset suoritettiin konehallissa Ilmajoen koulutilalla. Hallin lattialle levitettiin riviin 18 muoviastiaa. Levitystesteissä ajettiin astioiden yli ja astioihin tulleet siemenet punnittiin. Punnitustuloksista piirrettiin levityskuviot taulukkolaskelmaohjelmaa käyttäen.
Testien aikana saimme selville koneiden levityskuviot ja vaihtelukertoimet. Keskipakolevittimistä toinen oli edullinen ja toinen kallis. Kolmantena koneena käytettiin koulutilan pneumaattista kylvökonetta. Koneiden välillä oli huomattavia eroavaisuuksia levityskuvioiden osalta. Yllätyksenä tuli, että keskipakolevittimien levitysleveydet ovat huomattavasti pienempiä, mitä tehtaalta on ilmoitettu. Seoksia ei suositella levitettäväksi keskipakolevittimillä lajittumisen takia. Pneumaattinen kylvökone soveltuu testiemme mukaan parhaiten piensiemenille ja niiden seoksille.The purpose of this study is to find out the differences between the spreading quality of two different small seed spreaders and one pneumatic seeder. Differences in spreading width, accuracy and seed convenience was researched. The aim was to find out if the spreading values set by the factory are correct.
Spreading experiments were carried out with various seeds, fertilizers and mixtures of different grass seeds. A tachometer was used to measure the burden and unburden spreading disc rotation speed. This study was carrried out in the farm hall at the Vocational Education Centre Sedu School. Spreading tests were carried out by setting 18 plastic containers evenly on the floor and by driving past these containers when spreading was turned on. Seeds in the containers were then weighed. Based on the results a spreading patterns were created by using a spreadsheet program.
During the study the spread patterns and variations of the machines were checked. One of the small seed spreader machines was inexpensive and other one was more expensive. The third machine was a pneumatic seeder from the Vocational Education Centre Sedu’s school. There were considerable differences between the spreading patterns of the seeders. It was a suprise that the spreading widths of the small seed spreaders are considerably smaller than what were announced by manufacturers. Mixtures of different grass seeds are not recommended to be used with a small seed spreader because the different sizes of seeds are separated by size and weight during the spreading process. According to the results of this research, the pneumatic seeder is a better choice for grass seeds and their mixtures

Improved sensitivity gas detection by spontaneous Raman scattering
Accurate, real-time measurement of the dilute constituents of a gaseous mixture poses a significant challenge usually relegated to mass spectrometry. Here, spontaneous Raman backscattering is used to detect low pressure molecular gases. Rapid detection of gases in the ∼100 parts in 106 (ppm) range is described. Improved sensitivity is brought about by use of a hollow-core, photonic bandgap fiber gas cell in the back-scattering configuration to increase collection efficiency and an image-plane aperture to greatly reduce silica-Raman background noise. Spatial and spectral properties of the silica noise were examined with a two-dimensional CCD detector array. © 2009 Optical Society of America
