Flexure bearing is a new concept and used for precision applications such as Programmable Focusing Mechanism (PFM), linear compressor, etc. These bearings are compact and inexpensive. A flexure bearing is designed for specific applications. These designed can usually be done with the advanced design tool like Fine Element Analysis. With the advent of computers Fine Element Analysis has become the most suitable tool for the engineering analysis where the conventional approach is not suitable, geometric complexity are involved etc. This bearing contains three slots having 120 ° apart and 12 peripheral holes are used to clamp the disc rigidly onto a support structure. One central hole made for movement of shaft. The bearings are commonly made by Aluminum material we calculate the deformations in theoretical and FEA method by using Ansys Software. In this paper we are modeling the flexure bearing by using copper material we are calculate the deformations in theoretical and FEA method by using Ansys Software. We are analysis the deflection deformation on the both materials of bearing. We are analysis the deflection deformation on Flexure Bearing at different load (means 1 N to 5 N). Using software’s like CATIA and PROE, modeling of flexure bearing done. Also make Fine Element Method analysis on it by using Ansys software and lastly, this project considers the fatigue life criteria for flexure bearing and tries to optimize it. We are made design calculation and Fine Element Analysis for flexure bearing to make appropriate model and draw the performance charts for linear compressor bearing by comparing the power consumption with different temperatures, and capacity

Friction welding method is one of the most simple, economical and highly productive methods in joining similar and dissimilar metals. It is widely used in the automotive, aircraft and aerospace industrial applications. For many applications it is often necessary to join aluminium (6061) to make finished part. In this project the main aim is to weld the small thickness of aluminum (6061) plates for that friction welding machine used is of higher cost. Here the aim is reduce the cost of friction welding machine with simple parts like three phase A.C induction motor, bush, frame stand, friction tool, universal vice, vertical moving bed, horizontal moving bed, etc. The result expected would be of same strength as that of old friction welding machine. It is very easy and at same time production time is very much reduced. This machine is best suitable for mass production

ALGORITHM FOR GRAPH VISIBILITY OBTAINMENT FROM A MAP OF NON-CONVEX POLYGONS

Visibility graphs are basic planning algorithms, widely used in mobile robotics and other disciplines. The construction of a visibility graph can be considered a tool based on geometry that provides support to planning strategies in mobile robots. Visually, the method is used to solve that planning, which is quite extended due to the simplicity of operating with polygons, that represent obstacles in the environment. The cost of these algorithms tend to be quite low. The most sensitive issue of obtaining visibility between polygons is in cases in which the polygons are non-convex. In such cases, it is obligatory to know whether the area where one vertex of the polygon is found, is located in a convex or non-convex area, being desirable to distinguish between both situations in a simple way, issue that was not possible up to now. To obtain the visibility of non-convex polygons, the authors have developed a visual and intuitive method which gives the machine the ability to interpret the visibility with a simplicity similar to the human mind

The corrosion resistance of austenitic stainless steel grade 316 were performed in 1 M hydrochloric acid solution using the electrochemical potentiostatic polarization method. The result showed the more active corrosion reactions in presence of chloride ion results in pitting corrosion observed on the metal surface. The potential range of passivity was shortened and both the pitting potential and protection potential shifted towards the active direction. Potentiostatic polarization method was used for the pitting corrosion investigation. The electrochemical corrosion reactions exhibited both the passive and active corrosion reactions characteristics. The acids at the intermediate concentrations show more obvious active corrosion reactions; while in the concentrated form they were relatively passive—the passivity that was associated with the oxidizing nature of the concentrated acids

GATING DESIGN CRITERIA FOR SOUND CASTING

Casting as a manufacturing process to make complex shapes of molten metal in mass production may experience many different defects such as porosity and incomplete filling. How to improve the casting quality becomes important. Gating/riser system design is critical to improving casting quality. The objective of the research presented in this thesis is to optimize gating systems with the goal of improving casting quality such as reducing incomplete filling area, decreasing large porosity and increasing yiel
