Representaciones de lo femenino en publicidad. Muñecas y mujeres: entre la materia artificial y la carne

Analiza la esencialización de la representación femenina en los medios de comunicación en torno al modelo altamente simbólico de la muñeca. Revisa la historia de ese simbolismo con sus raíces psicoanalíticas, culturales, y su fuerte tinte sexista y de marca de género. Plantea qué consecuencias tiene este modelo cultural y cómo puede leerse esa forma en la situación actual de las mujeres en la vida social.[ABSTRACT]This paper analyses the essential representation of the female in mass media in the symbolic form of the doll. It reviews the history of such a symbol, including its cultural, psycho-analytical, social and sexist and gender features. It discusses the consequences of such a cultural model and how it can affect the actual situation of women in social life.[RÉSUMÉ]Cet article analyse la representation essentielle de la femme dans les média de la communication dans la forme symbolique de la poupée. Il revise les aspects culturels, psycho-analytiques, sociaux et sexistes de cette forme culturelle, et discusse les conséquences d’un tel modèle culturel, et comment peut-il affecter la situation sociale des femmes dans la vie quotidienne

Modelos de mujeres fálicas del postfeminismo mediático : una aproximación a Millenium, Avatar y Los juegos del hambre

Aquest article presenta una crítica cultural de tres pel·lícules de gran èxit de públic: Millenium 1, Avatar i The Hunger Games, analitzant un aspecte concret: la figura de les dones protagonistes, per argumentar que s'està produint un desplaçament en la representació convencional d'un model femení que la crítica feminista ha definit com a "dones fàl·liques". Després de plantejar la relació entre feminitat i violència, el text presenta una història (encara que no sistemàtica) del terme "heroïna fàl·lica" desenvolupat en els anys vuitanta i noranta, per contrastar-ho després amb les protagonistes de les pel·lícules indicades. La tesi que planteja el text és que en la cultura mediàtica actual han començat a ser acceptables els models de dones guerreres que van més enllà del model hipersexualizado propi del període anterior: les dones fàl·liques dels últims anys tenen atributs positius de la feminitat clàssica que van més enllà de la bellesa física.Este artículo presenta una crítica cultural de tres películas de gran éxito de público: Millenium 1, Avatar y Los juegos del hambre, analizando un aspecto concreto: la figura de las mujeres protagonistas, para argumentar que se está produciendo un desplazamiento en la representación convencional de un modelo femenino que la crítica feminista ha definido como "mujeres fálicas". Después de plantear la relación entre feminidad y violencia, el texto presenta una historia (aunque no sistemática) del término "heroína fálica" desarrollado en los años ochenta y noventa, para contrastarlo después con las protagonistas de las películas indicadas. La tesis que plantea el texto es que en la cultura mediática actual han comenzado a ser aceptables los modelos de mujeres guerreras que van más allá del modelo hipersexualizado propio del periodo anterior: las mujeres fálicas de los últimos años tienen atributos positivos de la feminidad clásica que van más allá de la belleza física.This article presents a cultural critique of three blockbuster movies: Millenium 1, Avatar and The Hunger Games, analyzing a particular aspect: the figure of women protagonists, arguing that a shift is occurring in the conventional representation of a model feminine, that feminist criticism has been defined as "phallic women". After posing the relationship between femininity and violence, the text offers a history of the term phallic heroin developed in the 80s and 90s, and to contrast them with most current models of film. The thesis is that in popular culture media have begun to be acceptable models of female warriors beyond hyper-sexualized model itself prior period: phallic women in recent years have positive attributes of classic femininity beyond physical beauty

The trip of Marina Abramovic and Lady Gaga through the hypermodernity: “If you share your fans, I’ll give you symbolic capital”.

Este texto parte de un hecho puntual: la colaboración artística planteada durante el año 2013 entre la performer Marina Abramovic y Lady Gaga y que podemos leer como una metáfora de lo que está ocurriendo en el Arte y en la cultura popular en estos momentos en los que Internet 2.0 ha hecho posible la participación de los receptores en la creación de los productos culturales. La consecuencia fundamental es que se ha producido un borrado definitivo de fronteras entre la alta cultura y la cultura mediática, causada sobre todo por el hecho de que el público pasa a ser considerado parte del proceso creativo de los textos artísticos o mediáticos que son la base del intercambio simbólico en el mundo contemporáneo. Estudiar las consecuencias que pueda tener todo esto para el feminismo o la representación de las mujeres en el arte y en los medios, será uno de los objetivos de nuestro texto.This text is part of a single event: the artistic collaboration between the performer Marina Abramovic and Lady Gaga in 2013. We can read this collaboration as a metaphor about the relation between the art and the popular culture in a time in which Internet 2.0 has made possible the participation of receptors in the creation of cultural products. Therefore, the borders between high culture and media culture have been erased, due to the public become part of the creative process of art or media texts, which are the underlie of symbolic exchange in the contemporary world. The objective of the text is study the possible consequences of all these changes for feminism and the women's representation in art and the media

Sofía Casanova in World War I: a reporter looking for “the peace of war”

En este texto se analiza el trabajo periodístico de Sofía Casanova como reportera en el frente oriental (Polonia) en la I Guerra Mundial. Su objetivo es destacar las ideas pacifistas que la autora va exponiendo en las crónicas escritas para el diario Abc y que fueron publicadas de forma conjunta en 1916 bajo el título De la guerra. Crónicas de Polonia y Rusia. Se explicará el sentido de esta obra no solo a través del contexto biográfico de la autora, sino que se utilizará el entorno ideológico de la Europa del momento para explicar que el pacifismo de Casanova no es está alejado de los movimientos sociales o del pensamiento de su época.In this paper we analyze the journalistic work of Sofia Casanova as a reporter on the Eastern Front (Poland) in the First World War. The objective of this paper is to highlight the pacifist ideas that the author is exposing in the chronicles written for the daily ABC and were published together in 1916 under the title From the War: Chronicles of Poland and Russia I. The meaning of this journalistic work is going to be explained not only through the author’s biological context but also the ideological context of Europe at that time, which will enable us to understand that her pacifism does not mean that Casanova is far from the social movements or thought of her time

Analysis of simple 2-D and 3-D metal structures subjected to fragment impact

Theoretical methods were developed for predicting the large-deflection elastic-plastic transient structural responses of metal containment or deflector (C/D) structures to cope with rotor burst fragment impact attack. For two-dimensional C/D structures both, finite element and finite difference analysis methods were employed to analyze structural response produced by either prescribed transient loads or fragment impact. For the latter category, two time-wise step-by-step analysis procedures were devised to predict the structural responses resulting from a succession of fragment impacts: the collision force method (CFM) which utilizes an approximate prediction of the force applied to the attacked structure during fragment impact, and the collision imparted velocity method (CIVM) in which the impact-induced velocity increment acquired by a region of the impacted structure near the impact point is computed. The merits and limitations of these approaches are discussed. For the analysis of 3-d responses of C/D structures, only the CIVM approach was investigated
