INVESTIGATING THE PATIENT SATISFACTION WITHIN ROMANIAN PUBLIC AND PRIVATE HOSPITALS
Although it is not commonly accepted within healthcare services industry, the importance of marketing is more and more recognized nowadays by the organizations activating in the field. Current perception resides in a series of factors as: ethical aspects involved in the delivery process; special characteristics of the market; particular profile and behavior of the consumers of healthcare services and probably because of the inadequate understanding of the marketing role in the life of an organization. A deep analysis in the field of healthcare services will emphasize not only its complexity, but also its interdisciplinary feature under many aspects, as it is an area where many fields of interest are intersecting, both economic and social. It also reveals a particular field of study with many particular features - considered a sensitive field (Popa and Vladoi 2010: 232). Generated using the SERVQUAL model, the data presented in the paper are the result of a quantitative research designed to measure and compare the patient/client satisfaction degree for public and private medical services provided by the Romanian hospitals. The aim of the research is to identify and to measure the gap that appears between the patient/clientâ€(tm) expectations and perceptions regarding the delivered services; to identify the potential profile of the private Romanian hospitalsâ€(tm) clients regarding the demographic features and also to pin-point correlations between the image created in the mind of the Romanian patients/clients and the type of medical services (public or private) they were using. We consider that the results of this research are valuable for the managers of the medical units in order to initiate series of actions aiming to improve the quality of their services and, as a result the patient/clientsâ€(tm) satisfaction degree. Later being one of the most important performance indicators of an organization that activates in a highly competitive business environment. We also consider this research may be useful in the process of improving the quality of the medical services in Romania, which must be a priority for any medical unitsâ€(tm) management and for the society as a whole. Present paper intends to lay foundation for future research, tailored to correlate the quality culture for the Romanian hospitals and the satisfaction degree of their patients/clients.relationship marketing, patientsâ€(tm) satisfaction, public and private medical services, Oradea, Romania

OPPORTUNITIES OF EXERCISING THE ROLE OF AN ACTIVE STUDENT AS A PREMISE OF STUDENT-CENTERED EDUCATION IN THE ECONOMIC SCIENCES FACULTY OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ORADEA
This paper presents the opportunities offered by the Economic Sciences Faculty from Oradea regarding the taking of the role of an active student as a condition of the student-centered education. It also includes a quantitative research on the availability of the first-year students to take the role of active students by involving themselves into the curricular and extracurricular activities. The research method was a survey based on a questionnaire on a 92- student sample. We have also developed a qualitative research based on the focus group method in which seven students of the faculty participated. Starting from the research results we have suggested a series of extremely important projects to implement the student-centered education within the Economic Sciences Faculty from Oradea, the most important being: Excelsior - the involved student community, the professional portofolio of the students and the student magazine Excelsior.
The ideas presented in this paper are to represent a part of a good practice guide on implementing student-centered education within a high educational institution. The concern for this concept is determined by the current context of the high educational system in Romania characterized by: the intensification of the competitive environment; increasing employers’ demands; increasing high school graduates and students’ demands towards the quality offered by a high educational institution; the performance indicators used by ARACIS in the evaluation of the universities, a very relevant example being the graduates’ professional route in the labour field. We are convinced that the ideas presented in this paper are important to the decision factors from the academic environment, factors that should initiate and facilitate the implementation of the student- centered education concept
THE PROQUALITY NATIONAL PROGRAMME – THE MAIN APPROACH TO IMPROVEMENTS IN COMPETITIVENESS ON THE GLOBAL MARKET, TO REDUCING THE GAPS AND TO INSURING A LASTING
The Japanese miracle is not a miracle. The outstanding evolution of the Japanese economy after the Second World War owes to both the cult for labor present in the Japanese society and to the influx of knowledge on quality passed on by the two American scientists, Deming şi Juran in the 1950s. The postwar economic recovery programme of Japan focussed mainly on the high quality of products. Based on the realities of the Romanian economy, we thought it mandatory for a person preoccupied and dedicated to the field of quality to conceive a project for promoting the cult of quality in the Romanian society, aimed at improving the individual, organizational and national performance in this respect, for the ultimate increase in general welfar
THE ROLE OF STUDENT-CENTERED EDUCATION IN STIMULATING THE ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT OF UNIVERSITY GRADUATES
Entrepreneurship plays a major role in the economic growth and development of most modern economies. Measures are being taken by most governments in order to stimulate entrepreneurship, however even more can be done by promoting entrepreneurship in the educational context. According to the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor Global Report (2013) Romania is performing slightly under the average of similar countries when it comes to entrepreneurial activity, is above the average at necessity-driven entrepreneurship and low at innovation driven entrepreneurship. Under these circumstances, a focus on entrepreneurship in higher education is required in order to help Romania bridge the gap to the other efficiency-driven economies. Our study aims to assess the impact of the university level education on the career choices of present entrepreneurs in the Bihor county of Romania. 30 university graduates that are currently running a business have been interviewed regarding the reasons for starting their companies as well as the relationship that they had and have with the university from which they graduated. While some of the entrepreneurs claim that their education had little impact on the decision to become an entrepreneur, most of them believe that it played a big role on their performance and it prepared them somewhat for the challenges they faced once they opened their businesses. Also a large portion of them report being involved in the activity of the university. The participants offered valuable feedback regarding their experience with the university. They also provided considerable information regarding the improvement that they would like to see in the future and how a more student-centered education process could positively impact the development of entrepreneurial spirit and better prepare future graduates to start and run a business. We further discuss the means through which this could be achieved in the context of our institution and other learning institutions that have similar goals and face similar challenges
A COMPARATIVE ANALISYS ON THE TRADITIONAL FOOD PRODUCTS IN EU
This paper is intent on highlighting the differences between traditional food products registered in every member state of the EU. The legislative system protecting the 'peculiar, endemic', food products was first introduced in the EU in 1992 and it was implemented in the then - member states. The countries that adhered to the EU in the following years underwent a preparation phase in terms of legislation in order to educate the producers and consumers regarding these regulations. Therefore, some countries have a history of over twenty years in recognizing and registering traditional food products(TFP), whereas newly - entered EU member states have an experience of less than ten years. This can be one of the many reasons underlying the significant discrepancy in the number of traditional food products registered in every EU member state.Throughout the paper we intend to analyse and highlight the number of traditional food products registered in the European Union’ s database– DOORdatabase– by every EU member state, and also provide an overview of their status in the EU.Moreover, throughout the paper we will answer questions such as„ Why does France have 255 traditional food products registered, whereas countries like Romania and Bulgaria only 4 ? “aiming to justify these differences but also present the evolution of the supply of traditional food products over time.To achieve the objectives of our research, we have covered vast literature and we have processed a series of secondary data that were put at our disposal by the databases of the European Commission, the agricultural sector. The results of our research are interesting, and the graphs will help better visualize and understand the status of the supply of traditional food products from a quantitative point of view countrywide. The identified elements as influencing factors in the quantitative supply of traditional food products and their grouping in a series of criteria tantamount to the elements pertaining to the marketing macro - environment reflect in the qualitative results, therefore bringing academic value to the aforementioned paper. The practicality of this paper can be highlighted by emphasizing the need to educate the consumers(well - informed, to know which and how many 'genuine', traditional food products are there) but also the producers (to know how to relate to the competition)
THE ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE SPECIFIC TO THE STUDENT-CENTRED EDUCATION
The present socio-economic realities demand the necessity of a paradigm change in the Romanian academic education, in order to promote the student centred education at strategic and operational level. This could not be accomplished without promoting a specific organizational culture. This would change the role of the universities from the diploma providers to value competence and providers for the employee and/or entrepreneur status of the students and also for their status as responsible citizens. The conclusions of the paper will help the decision factors of the upper educational system in Romania to be aware of the importance of promoting the organizational culture specific to the student-centred education as a condition of increasing the satisfaction of all the stakeholders involved (employer, teacher, student) with considerable benefits for the universities and the Romanian economy's competitiveness
Pose and motion capture technologies
The multitude of sensors, transducers and data acquisition systems used in the ever-increasing domains of today’s industry, were designed and created on a purpose-based agenda. Most of these technologies were rarely used for different purposes then the ones they were meant for. This research, explores the possibility of using those technologies for the purpose of motion capture. The results of the motion capture data acquisition can further be used for other purposes, itself. Because the motion capture data isn’t calculated, but only captured, the compression algorithms may result in mathematical formulas of motion, which can be the same formulas of calculating the motion synthetically. The same way the parameters and formulas are being calculated for a robot’s movement, motion can be captured, and the key position parameters can be selected, and implemented on the movement, while not only making the movement more natural, but saves time during the programming process.</jats:p
