Resonant production of the fourth family slepton at the LHC

The resonant production of the fourth family slepton ~l_4 via R-parity violating interactions of supersymmetry at the Large Hadron Collider has been investigated. We study the decay mode of ~l_4 into the fourth family neutrino nu_4 and W boson. The signal will be a like-sign dimuon and dijet if the fourth family neutrino has Majorana nature. We discuss the constraints on the R-parity violating couplings lambda and lambda' of the fourth family charged slepton at the LHC with the center of mass energies of 7, 10 and 14 TeV.Comment: 8 pages, 4 figures, 4 table

Probing Charged Higgs Boson Couplings at the FCC-hh Collider

Many of the new physics models predicts a light Higgs boson similar to the Higgs boson of the Standard Model (SM) and also extra scalar bosons. Beyond the search channels for a SM Higgs boson, the future collider experiments will explore additional channels that are specific to extended Higgs sectors. We study the charged Higgs boson production within the framework of two Higgs doublet models (THDM) in the proton-proton collisions at the FCC-hh collider. With an integrated luminosity of 500 fb1^{-1} at very high energy frontier, we obtain a significant coverage of the parameter space and distinguish the charged Higgs-top-bottom interaction within the THDM or other new physics models with charged Higgs boson mass up to 1 TeV.Comment: 22 pages, 26 figures, 6 table

Steady state entanglement of two atoms created by classical driving field

    Get PDF
The stabilization of steady state entanglement caused by action of a classical driving field in the system of two-level atoms with the dipole interaction accompanied by spontaneous emission is discussed. An exact solution shows that the maximum amount of concurrence that can be achieved in Lamb-Dicke limit is 0.43, which corresponds to the entanglement Emax=0.285\mathcal{E}_{max}=0.285 ebit. Dependence of entanglement on interatomic distance and classical driving field is examined numerically.Comment: 14 pages, 2 figure

The Fourth SM Family Enhancement to the Golden Mode at the Upgraded Tevatron

We study the observability for a Higgs boson at upgraded Tevatron via the modes gg->h->ZZ->4l (l=e,mu). We find that the signal can be observed at an integrated luminosity of 30 fb^(-1) if the fourth SM family exists.Comment: 9 pages, 5 figures, 2 table

    Alternative conducted immunity tests

    Get PDF
Conducted immunity tests are always performed by the use of CDNs in laboratories in accordance with the standard EN61000-4-6. However, it is not always possible to use CDNs because of some limitations. If the EUT (Equipment Under Test) has large dimensions or high currents, it is not, most of the time, possible to send it to an EMC laboratory or to use CDNs during the test. As a consequence, usage of BCI probes is inevitable in industry. In this paper, we compared the laboratory setup installed with CDNs and alternative setups installed directly on mains without any CDNs in terms of loop impedances and injected loop currents. We also established a link based on the loop impedances and the injected currents on the test loops between the two setups. Finally, a first serious step was taken to establish the fundamentals of alternative conducted immunity tests based on the impedance measurements of test loops for industry.Postprint (published version

Mel- and Mellin-Cepstral Feature Extraction Algorithms for Face Recognition

    Get PDF
Cataloged from PDF version of article. In this article, an image feature extraction method based on two-dimensional (2D) Mellin cepstrum is introduced. The concept of one-dimensional (1D) mel-cepstrum that is widely used in speech recognition is extended to two-dimensions using both the ordinary 2D Fourier transform and the Mellin transform. The resultant feature matrices are applied to two different classifiers such as common matrix approach and support vector machine to test the performance of the mel-cepstrum- and Mellin-cepstrum-based features. The AR face image database, ORL database, Yale database and FRGC database are used in experimental studies, which indicate that recognition rates obtained by the 2D mel-cepstrum-based method are superior to that obtained using 2D principal component analysis, 2D Fourier-Mellin transform and ordinary image matrix-based face recognition in both classifiers. Experimental results indicate that 2D cepstral analysis can also be used in other image feature extraction problems
