    The status of Galactic field lambda Bootis stars in the post-Hipparcos era

    The lambda Bootis stars are Population I, late B to early F-type stars, with moderate to extreme (up to a factor 100) surface underabundances of most Fe-peak elements and solar abundances of lighter elements (C, N, O, and S). To put constraints on the various existing theories that try to explain these peculiar stars, we investigate the observational properties of lambda Bootis stars compared to a reference sample of normal stars. Using various photometric systems and Hipparcos data, we analyze the validity of standard photometric calibrations, elemental abundances, and Galactic space motions. There crystallizes a clear picture of a homogeneous group of Population I objects found at all stages of their main-sequence evolution, with a peak at about 1 Gyr. No correlation of astrophysical parameters such as the projected rotational velocities or elemental abundances with age is found, suggesting that the a-priori unknown mechanism, which creates lambda Bootis stars, works continuously for late B to early F-type stars in all stages of main-sequence evolution.     摘要:“是...的”句是动词谓语句的一种,突出强调与动作相关的某个成分,如用来强调动作发生的时间、处所、方式、条件、目的、对象、工具等;强调施事者;强调动作的受事者;和强调产生某种结果的动作行为,可见“是…的”句式非常重要。根据笔者了解,坤甸高中第三国立学校二年级的学生在学习汉语过程中对“是…的”句式的动词谓语句掌握不好,使用的时候常常出现一些错误。因此,笔者采用文献调查法和测验研究法对该校的学生使用“是…的”句式的偏误进行了调查并作了分析。 关键词:“是…的”句式 偏误分析 偏误原因 Abstract:"Shi ... de " is one type of sentence pattern predicated verb, serves to emphasize related to verb, for example, used to emphasize time, place,manner, conditions, objectives, objects, equipment and so on. From the explanation, we can conclude that the pattern of the phrase " shi ... de " is very important.     Dietary Exposure Assessment for Aflatoxin B From Processed Peanut Products in Municipality of Bogor 1

    A research on dietary exposure assessment for aflatoxin B (AFB1) fromprocessed peanutproducts in Municipality of Bogor was carried out. The objectives of this study were todetermine the contents of AFB1 in processed peanut products at retail levels, and to obtaininformation whether there is a risk to public health caused by the consumption of processedpeanut products contaminated by AFB1. Survey of processed peanut product consumptionwas carried out by interviewing each respondent using a questionnaire of weekly processedpeanut product consumption. Sampling of processed peanut products was conducted at thelocations where the respondents obtained processed peanut products. The number of roastedpeanuts with skin pods, flour-coated peanuts and or sauces samples was 33,respectively, while the number of and sauces samples was 18 and 12, respectively.The total number of processed peanut product sampleswas 129.AFB1contentwas determinedusingThin LayerChromatographymethod.Estimation of the dietary exposure assessmentwasdetermined using the actual survey data consisting of AFB1 content, consumption data andbody weight. The highest contaminated sample percentage and mean of AFB1 content wasfound in roasted peanuts with skin pods i.e. 42% of 33 samples and 43.2 μg/kg, respectively,followed by flour-coated peanuts (30% of 33 samples and 34.3 μg/kg), and or(21%of 33 samples and 17.1 μg/kg).Mean of estimated dietary exposure for AFB1 found inchildren was 15.2 ng kg bw day and 95 percentile exposure was 38.9 ng kg bw day , while inadults 9.0 ng kg bw day and 95 percentile exposure was 27.0 ng kg bw day .     The objectives of this study were to collect informations on the method of postharvesthandling of sorghum and to investigate the moisture contents, insects infestation, fungalinfection, and aflatoxin B contents of stored sorghum grains collected from various stagesof the delivery chain in Demak and Wonogiri regencies, Central Java. In Demak regencysorghum cultivation was monoculture, variety cultivated was UPC-S1. In Wonogiri regencysorghum cultivation was intercropping with secondary crop and cassava. Sorghum varietiescultivated were Kawali, Numbu, ZH30, Mandau and Hibrida hybrids. There was a differencebetween the method of postharvest handling of sorghum at farmer and collector levels inDemak andWonogiri regencies. In general the method of postharvest handling of sorghum inDemak regency was more appropriate and more advance compared to that in Wonogiriregency. The moisture contents of sorghum at farmer as well as at collector level in Demakregency (13.0%) and Wonogiri regency (12.9%) were still lower that that of normal (safe)moisture content of sorghum.     PCR–electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (PCR-ESI/MS), suatu peralatan baru yang mampu mendeteksi hampir semua mikroorganisme patogen, namun belum pernah digunakan di Indonesia. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk memperoleh pengalaman dengan PCR/ESI-MS dan panel food borne pathogen, mengetahui kelebihan dan kelemahan teknologi ini. Rancangan penelitian potong lintang, menggunakan spesimen dari poliklinik anak, dilakukan dari bulan juli 2012 hingga desember 2012, dan akhirnya 24 spesimen diperiksa dengan PCR/ESI-MS. Karakteristik diare terdiri dari 12 dengan lendir, 3 diare berdarah dan 20 hanya diare cair saja. Pada sebagian besar kasus dijumpai lebih dari satu bakteri. Bakteri E. coli FDA29 ditemukan pada kasus disertai demam dan sakit Perut, namun tidak ada pada kasus tanpa kelainan tersebut. Jenis bakteri dengan PCR/ESI-MS berbeda dengan kultur. Metoda ini dapat mendeteksi bakteri dalam waktu 24 jam dan sangat bermanfaat pada wabah. Berdasarkan kemampuan metoda ini untuk mendeteksi beberapa bakteri dari satu spesimen, tampaknya biayanya tidak lebih mahal dibanding kultur. Metoda ini sangat bermanfaat untuk surveilans dalam hal menemukan kesamaaan antara penyebab penyakit dan pejamu. PCR–electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (PCR-ESI/MS), a new equipment that can detect almost all human patogenic microorganism, but never used before in Indonesia.The aim of this study to get experience with PCR/ESI-MS and panel food borne pathogen, to know the profile of bacteria that caused diarhea by PCR/ESI-MS, and know the advantage and handicapped of this equipment.Study design was descriptive cross sectional, using specimen from Child ambulatory clinic, was done from July 2012 until December 2012 and finally 24 was examined with PCR/ESI-MS. Clinical characteristic consist of fever 9 (37,5%), vomiting 17 (70.8%)and abdominal pain 11 (45.8%). Mayority (75%) got diarhea from 3-5 daily. Characteristic of diarhea, 12 cases with mucus, 3 cases bloody diarhea and 20 cases only liquid faeces. In most cases, we found multiple bacteria . Bacteria E. coli FDA29 was detected on cases with fever and abdominal pain but not found in cases without those manifestation. Type of bacteria in this study was different with cultur result. This method can detect bacteria in 24 hours, and very useful in outbreak, and if we calculate the cost and the ability of this metod to detect several bacteria from single specimen, it seems nearly the same. It seems that this method will be very useful for surveilans ie to find similarity between agent and host

    The purpose of this research is to determine the influence of repellent plant on growth and productivity of organic vegetable soybean. This research was conducted at Leuwikopo Research Station, from September 2004 to February 2005. Randomized Complete Block Design with one factor (type of repellent plant) and four replications was used. The type of repellent plant were Marigold (Tagetes erecta), Ocimum gratissimum, andropogon (Cymbopogon nardus), and leeks (Allium fistulosum).This research showed organic soybean with repellent plant had higher productivity than conventional soybean. Organic soybean with repellent plants had higher number of branches in 5 Weeks After Plant (WAP), the pod weight/plot, and 100 seeds dry weight. Growth and production of soybean were better under organic farming system than that under conventional farming. Soybean with repellent plant had lower total disease intensity than conventional treatment. Soybean with Tagetes erecta as repellent plant had lower total disease intensity than other repellent treatment

    Weak interactions of supersymmetric staus at high energies

    Neutrino telescopes may have the potential to detect the quasi-stable staus predicted by supersymmetric models. Detection depends on stau electromagnetic energy loss and weak interactions. We present results for the weak interaction contribution to the energy loss of high energy staus as they pass through rock. We show that the neutral current weak interaction contribution to the energy loss increases with energy, but it is much smaller than the photonuclear energy loss, however, the charged current contribution may become the dominant process above the energy of 109\sim 10^9 GeV, depending on the parameters of the model. As a consequence, the stau range may be reduced above 109\sim 10^9 GeV as compared to the range neglecting weak interactions. We contrast this with the tau range which is barely changed with the inclusion of charged current interactions.Comment: 7 pages, 8 figures, version to be publishe
