Abstract: Using an approach of modified Euler-Lagrange field equations obtained from an invariant action under infinitesimal modified general coordinates, local Lorentz and U∗(1) gauge transformations together with the corresponding Seiberg-Witten maps of the dynamical fields, a generalized Dirac equation in the presence of a constant electric field and a noncommutative cosmological anisotropic Bianchi I universe is derived and the particles pair creation process is studied
Model Ketahanan Kelompok Tani pada Wilayah dan Komoditas yang Berbeda di Jawa
The Green Revolutions failure caused many farmer groups to cease their activities, even though they had to fulfill many needs. This situation created a need to develop a model for group survival. With those afore mentioned background, this research was conducted. Data was collected in September and October 2005 involving rice, soybean, corn and vegetables farmer groups in the east, central and west Java. The research findings pointed out that there was a relationship between the group survival and their adaptation, goal attainment, integration and latency functions. The group survival rates were higher in central and east Java than in west Java. Additionally, the vegetable and rice farmer group survival rates were higher than the soybean and corn farmer groups. The adaptation, the goal attainment and the integration functions were more strategic for farmer groups in the west and east Java and also for vegetable farmer groups such as soybean and corn group wereas the strategic function were adaptation and integration

Http://dx.doi.org/10.17014/ijog.vol1no2.20065The uplift of Southern Mountains in Early Pleistocene has formed the Yogyakarta Basin. In this basin, the Merapi volcanic activity has been developing. Based on 14C dating in cinder deposits exposed at Cepogo, the volcanic activity took place since ±42 ka. While on the basis of K/Ar dating in andesitic lava at Bibi Volcano, the activity took place since 0.67 ma. The high in the south and the appearance of Merapi volcanic dome in the north had caused a fl at valley. The southern part of the valley is bounded by the Southern Mountains and the western part is bounded by the West Progo Mountains. In the present time, the lithology of the areas which are interpreted as a palaeo-valley is composed of black clay deposits. This black clay is a contact between the basement rocks and Merapi volcanic deposits. The black clay deposits exposed in the Progo River (Kasihan) has been developed since ±16.59 to 0.47 ka, while in the Opak River (Watuadeg) 6210 y BP. Younger black clay deposits intersecting with lahars are also exposed at the Winongo River and have an age of 310 y BP. The age data of volcanic stratigraphy shows that Merapi activities had taken place since ±6210 up to ±310 years ago
How do supply chain management and information systems practices influence operational performance?:Evidence from emerging country SMEs
This study first provides a comparative analysis of the impact of supply chain management (SCM) and information systems (IS) practices on operational performance (OPER) of small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating in two neighbouring emerging country markets of Turkey and Bulgaria. Then, we investigate moderating effects of both SCM–IS-linked enablers and inhibitors on the links between SCM and IS practices and OPER of SMEs. To this end, we first empirically identify the underlying dimensions of SCM and IS practices, and SCM–IS-related enabling and inhibiting factors. Second, a series of regression analyses are undertaken to estimate the impact of the study's constructs on OPER of SMEs. The results are discussed comparatively within the contexts of both Turkish and Bulgarian SMEs and beyond. The study makes a significant contribution to the extant literature through obtaining and analysing cross-national survey data of SCM and IS practices in emerging country markets
Apoptotic Vascular Smooth Muscle Cell Depletion via BCL2 Family of Proteins in Human Ascending Aortic Aneurysm and Dissection
Cataloged from PDF version of article.Aims: This study investigates the expression patterns of BCL2 (B-cell CLL/lymphoma2) family of proteins and the extent of vascular smooth muscle cell (VSMC) apoptosis in thoracic aortic aneurysms (TAA), type-A aortic dissections (TAD), and nondilated ascending aortic samples. Methods: Aortic wall specimens were obtained from patients undergoing surgical repair for TAA (n = 24), TAD (n = 20), and normal aortic tissues from organ donors (n = 6). The expression pattern of BCL2, BCL2L1 (BCL2-like1), BAK1 (BCL2-antagonist/killer1), and BAX (BCL2-associated X protein) proteins was investigated by immunohistochemistry. Furthermore, colocalization of alpha smooth muscle actin (ACTA2) and caspase3 (CASP3) in aortic VSMCs was analyzed by double-immunofluorescence staining. Onset of DNA fragmentation was measured by TUNEL assay. Results: Apoptotic index was significantly increased in both TAD group (31.3 ± 17.2, P < 0.001) and TAA group (21.1 ± 12.7, P = 0.001) relative to control aortas (2.0 ± 1.2). Anti-CASP3 and ACTA2 double-immunostaining confirmed apoptosis in VSMCs in TAA and TAD groups but not in controls. Proapoptotic BAX expression was significantly elevated in VSMCs of TAA patients, compared with that of controls (OR = 20; P = 0.02; 95% CI, 16-250). In contrast, antiapoptotic BCL2L1 expression was higher in controls compared with that of TAA group (OR = 11.2; P = 0.049; 95% CI, 1.0-123.9). Furthermore, BAX/BCL2 ratio was significantly increased in both TAA (1.2 ± 0.7, P < 0.001) and TAD (0.6 ± 0.4, P = 0.05) groups relative to controls (0.2 ± 0.1, P < 0.001). Conclusions: Apoptotic VSMC depletion in human TAA/TAD is associated with disturbance of the balance between proapoptotic and antiapoptotic members of the BCL2 family proteins, which may have a role in the pathogenesis of vascular remodelling in aortic disease. In light of the future studies, targeting apoptotic pathways in TAA and TAD pathogenesis may provide therapeutic benefits to patients by slowing down the progression and even possibly preventing the TAD. © 2012 Blackwell Publishing Ltd
