Stark broadening data for spectral lines of rare-earth elements: Nb III
The electron-impact widths for 15 doubly charged Nb ion lines have been
theoretically determined by using the modified semiempirical method. Using the
obtained results, we considered the influence of the electron-impact mechanism
on line shapes in spectra of chemically peculiar stars and white dwarfs.Comment: 10 pages, 2 figures, 1 table, accepted in Advances in Space Researc
DEVELOPMENT OF SMES IN AGRIBUSINESS OF VOJVODINA COMMUNES - STATE AND PERSPECTIVES
Agriculture as the economic sector is an important factor of economic development of Serbia and an important part of economic structure. Serbia has agrarian resources (land, climate and water) that are not used enough, and therefore, represent a significant economic potential for further development. Vojvodina is the best-developed economic region of the Republic of Serbia, with dominant role of agricultural production. The main economic potential of Vojvodina development is, among other things, the strengthening and improvement of agriculture in the private sector. Economic potential of agriculture impose the need to analyze this situation in the field of small and medium sized entrepreneurship as the bearer of the future development of agriculture in Vojvodina. Cluster analysis is a method that will determine how to group communes in Vojvodina according to the level of development of small and medium-sized enterprises in the field of agriculture, and thus get an insight into the current state of development of this sector of agriculture, as well as point out the possibilities for the future development of SMEs in agribusiness of Vojvodina.Agricultural production, Small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), Clusters analysis, Clustering of communes in Vojvodina, Agribusiness, Community/Rural/Urban Development, Public Economics,
Mental state estimation for brain-computer interfaces
Mental state estimation is potentially useful for the development of asynchronous brain-computer interfaces. In this study, four mental states have been identified and decoded from the electrocorticograms (ECoGs) of six epileptic patients, engaged in a memory reach task. A novel signal analysis technique has been applied to high-dimensional, statistically sparse ECoGs recorded by a large number of electrodes. The strength of the proposed technique lies in its ability to jointly extract spatial and temporal patterns, responsible for encoding mental state differences. As such, the technique offers a systematic way of analyzing the spatiotemporal aspects of brain information processing and may be applicable to a wide range of spatiotemporal neurophysiological signals
Diffusion Controlled Reactions, Fluctuation Dominated Kinetics, and Living Cell Biochemistry
In recent years considerable portion of the computer science community has
focused its attention on understanding living cell biochemistry and efforts to
understand such complication reaction environment have spread over wide front,
ranging from systems biology approaches, through network analysis (motif
identification) towards developing language and simulators for low level
biochemical processes. Apart from simulation work, much of the efforts are
directed to using mean field equations (equivalent to the equations of
classical chemical kinetics) to address various problems (stability,
robustness, sensitivity analysis, etc.). Rarely is the use of mean field
equations questioned. This review will provide a brief overview of the
situations when mean field equations fail and should not be used. These
equations can be derived from the theory of diffusion controlled reactions, and
emerge when assumption of perfect mixing is used

On Nonlocal Modified Gravity and its Cosmological Solutions
During hundred years of General Relativity (GR), many significant
gravitational phenomena have been predicted and discovered. General Relativity
is still the best theory of gravity. Nevertheless, some (quantum) theoretical
and (astrophysical and cosmological) phenomenological difficulties of modern
gravity have been motivation to search more general theory of gravity than GR.
As a result, many modifications of GR have been considered. One of promising
recent investigations is Nonlocal Modified Gravity. In this article we present
a brief review of some nonlocal gravity models with their cosmological
solutions, in which nonlocality is expressed by an analytic function of the
d'Alembert-Beltrami operator . Some new results are also presented.Comment: 16 page
