Developing Muslim Communties in the Philippines Through Transformational Leadership: an Islamic Perspective
This research concludes that development of Muslim communities in the Philippinesprimarily relies on local initiatives and people\u27s assertive character to institute behavioralreform. It entails a transformation process involving all sectors of the society in such a waythat true and committed Muslim leaders will emerge to provide direction and at the same timeorchestrate the development of the communities. It is therefore argued that transformationalleadership is the most appropriate model that could improve the living conditions of Muslimsin the Philippines Firstly, this study provides the empirical evidence that leaders and followersbelieve that it is through Islamic leadership that their communities can be developed. Secondly, thehistory of the leadership of Prophet Mohammad and his four caliphs proved that Islamic leadership isindeed transformational leadership one, hence, they deserve to be emulated by Muslims
ambos grupos realizaron trabajos conjuntos
finalizando con la exposición pública de las
obras elaboradas. Los datos obtenidos pese a
no alcanzar significación estadística sugieren
Los resultados se discuten en relación[Abstract] In order to assess an intervention based on
a cooperative interaction strategy for changing
attitudes toward mental illness, four
subjets with schizophrenia participated as coinstructors
in a decoration-mosaical workshopo
Eight non-clinical people without previous
contact with this group took part in the
workshop for 3 hours a week during 8 weeks
(24 hours in total). Besides their attitudes, we
assessed their verbal and non-verbal interaction
through systematic observation techniqueso
Regarding schizophrenic patients, we
evaluate their self-steem before and after their
participation in the workshop. The mosaics
elaborated were exhibited once the workshop
was overo Positive attitudes change in participants
and a slight decrease in patients' selfsteem
were apparent, although these results are not statistical1y significant. Moreover,
interactiona11evels between patients and participants
increased during the first four weeks,
although they decreased at initia1 base-line
before the workshop was overo Results are
discussed with respect to design of new strategies
to enhance the intervention presented in
this study
Predicting your next OLAP query based on recent analytical sessions
International audienceIn Business Intelligence systems, users interact with data warehouses by formulating OLAP queries aimed at exploring multidimensional data cubes. Being able to predict the most likely next queries would provide a way to recommend interesting queries to users on the one hand, and could improve the efficiency of OLAP sessions on the other. In particular, query recommendation would proactively guide users in data exploration and improve the quality of their interactive experience. In this paper, we propose a framework to predict the most likely next query and recommend this to the user. Our framework relies on a probabilistic user behavior model built by analyzing previous OLAP sessions and exploiting a query similarity metric. To gain insight in the recommendation precision and on what parameters it depends, we evaluate our approach using different quality assessments
The seismic microzonation of level 3 of Sant’Agata Fossili (northern Italy) based on a multidisciplinary approach.
In this paper the results of a detailed seismic microzonation, performed at Sant’Agata Fossili (Piemonte region, northern Italy) are presented. We study the local seismic response of this small village using a level 3, that is the most accurate level following the Italian code of seismic microzonation. The activity steps consist in a gradual widening of knowledge of the different aspects of the amplification phenomena. A multidisciplinary approach has been performed to obtain the local seismic response: including a study of local geology, geophysical and geotechnical characterization of the lithologies, and numerical and experimental analyses. We finally compare the obtained elastic response spectra to the prescribed spectra of the Italian Building Code (in Italian: Norme Tecniche per le Costruzioni). Our results show the geologic and geophysical differences of the subsoil, that produce different local seismic response in terms of amplification factors and acceleration response spectra.PublishedS01893T.
