The Complex Reasons for Missing Spirituality. A Response to Democratic Foundations for Spiritually Responsive Pedagogy
This article is written in response to Lingley’s (2016) concept of spiritually responsive pedagogy. To begin with, the word spiritual, when applied to education, still attracts varied responses. Therefore, I have begun by examining contemporary understandings of spirituality as reflected in current research and literature, which provides an informed context for my response. I follow up by aligning some of the key features noted by Lingley in democratic education and spiritually responsive pedagogy to other perspectives that deal with the spiritual dimension in education; I do this in order to offer a supportive stance to Lingley’s assertion that, if we are to address the real needs of our students today and prepare them to meet the challenges of the world of tomorrow, we must incorporate spiritually responsive pedagogy into educational policy and practice
Evaluation of the influence of kyphosis and scoliosis on intervertebral disc extrusion in French bulldogs
Although thoracic vertebral malformations with kyphosis and scoliosis are often considered incidental findings on diagnostic imaging studies of screw-tailed brachycephalic breeds, they have been suggested to interfere with spinal biomechanics and intervertebral disc degeneration. It is however unknown if an abnormal spinal curvature also predisposes dogs to develop clinically relevant intervertebral disc herniations. The aim of this study was to evaluate if the occurrence of thoracic vertebral malformations, kyphosis or scoliosis would be associated with a higher prevalence of cervical or thoracolumbar intervertebral disc extrusion in French bulldogs
STUDY PROTOCOL FOR A RANDOMIZED CONTROLLED TRIAL TO EVALUATE THE EFFICACY OF ‘BREASTFEEDING –SUPPORTIVE CARE’ (B -SUCA) ON INITIATION, DETERMINANTS OF BREASTFEEDING AND PERINATAL OUTCOMES IN MOTHER-NEWBORN DYADS
Background: Breast milk is the best ever gift a mother can give to her newborn baby. During the olden times, early and exclusive breastfeeding was the custom and so was closeness between the mother and her baby. Methods: This randomized controlled trial (RCT) aims to test the primary outcomes on efficacy of ‘Breastfeeding – Supportive Care’ (B - SUCA) on time to initiate breastfeeding, determinants of breastfeeding, maternal- neonatal bonding. The secondary outcomes are to assess the B - SUCA on perinatal birth outcomes (maternal & neonatal) and check the acceptability of B - SUCA among the mothers in the experimental group. A block randomization technique is adopted among 160 participants 80 each in experimental and control group. Data collection is done after the approval from the ethics committee and patient’s informed consent. Results: At the time of writing, data collection was still being in process. After data collection it will be analyzed and results will be published as separate manuscripts.Conclusions: This study will offer insights into the prospect of improving breastfeeding rate for early initiation through breast crawl and skin-to-skin contact (SSC). It will determine the technique as a natural, simple, easy, feasible and effective way to improve the breastfeeding rate thus, enhance the newborn health status
Search for High Mass Photon Pairs in p-pbar --> gamma-gamma-jet-jet Events at sqrt(s)=1.8 TeV
A search has been carried out for events in the channel p-barp --> gamma
gamma jet jet. Such a signature can characterize the production of a
non-standard Higgs boson together with a W or Z boson. We refer to this
non-standard Higgs, having standard model couplings to vector bosons but no
coupling to fermions, as a "bosonic Higgs." With the requirement of two high
transverse energy photons and two jets, the diphoton mass (m(gamma gamma))
distribution is consistent with expected background. A 90(95)% C.L. upper limit
on the cross section as a function of mass is calculated, ranging from
0.60(0.80) pb for m(gamma gamma) = 65 GeV/c^2 to 0.26(0.34) pb for m(gamma
gamma) = 150 GeV/c^2, corresponding to a 95% C.L. lower limit on the mass of a
bosonic Higgs of 78.5 GeV/c^2.Comment: 9 pages, 3 figures. Replacement has new H->gamma gamma branching

Search For Heavy Pointlike Dirac Monopoles
We have searched for central production of a pair of photons with high
transverse energies in collisions at TeV using of data collected with the D\O detector at the Fermilab Tevatron in
1994--1996. If they exist, virtual heavy pointlike Dirac monopoles could
rescatter pairs of nearly real photons into this final state via a box diagram.
We observe no excess of events above background, and set lower 95% C.L. limits
of on the mass of a spin 0, 1/2, or 1 Dirac

TRY plant trait database - enhanced coverage and open access
Plant traits-the morphological, anatomical, physiological, biochemical and phenological characteristics of plants-determine how plants respond to environmental factors, affect other trophic levels, and influence ecosystem properties and their benefits and detriments to people. Plant trait data thus represent the basis for a vast area of research spanning from evolutionary biology, community and functional ecology, to biodiversity conservation, ecosystem and landscape management, restoration, biogeography and earth system modelling. Since its foundation in 2007, the TRY database of plant traits has grown continuously. It now provides unprecedented data coverage under an open access data policy and is the main plant trait database used by the research community worldwide. Increasingly, the TRY database also supports new frontiers of trait-based plant research, including the identification of data gaps and the subsequent mobilization or measurement of new data. To support this development, in this article we evaluate the extent of the trait data compiled in TRY and analyse emerging patterns of data coverage and representativeness. Best species coverage is achieved for categorical traits-almost complete coverage for 'plant growth form'. However, most traits relevant for ecology and vegetation modelling are characterized by continuous intraspecific variation and trait-environmental relationships. These traits have to be measured on individual plants in their respective environment. Despite unprecedented data coverage, we observe a humbling lack of completeness and representativeness of these continuous traits in many aspects. We, therefore, conclude that reducing data gaps and biases in the TRY database remains a key challenge and requires a coordinated approach to data mobilization and trait measurements. This can only be achieved in collaboration with other initiatives
Telescopic Overdenture Rehabilitation Following Hemimandibulectomy: Case Report
Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) warrants extensive surgical resection of the affected areas of the oral cavity which takes a tremendous toll on the patient’s functioning, aesthetic as well as social confidence. Replacement of such a large number of teeth along with portions of the alveolar ridge and mucosa warrants exuberant planning to ensure a satisfactory outcome in terms of function and patient comfort. The present case report describes one such case of OSCC that was treated with partial mandibular resection and had a large mandibular defect that was rehabilitated by means of a prosthesis using an interdisciplinary approach.

Ratio of the Isolated Photon Cross Sections at \sqrt{s} = 630 and 1800 GeV
The inclusive cross section for production of isolated photons has been
measured in \pbarp collisions at GeV with the \D0 detector at
the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The photons span a transverse energy ()
range from 7-49 GeV and have pseudorapidity . This measurement is
combined with to previous \D0 result at GeV to form a ratio
of the cross sections. Comparison of next-to-leading order QCD with the
measured cross section at 630 GeV and ratio of cross sections show satisfactory
