DEVELOPING LISTENING SUPPLEMENTARY MATERIALS FOR THE SEVENTH GRADE STUDENTS BASED ON CURRICULUM 2013

Curriculum 2013 strongly suggests teachers and students to use the textbooks which have been developed by the government (the Ministry of Education and Culture law number 71 year 2013). It is seen that the English textbook for the seventh grade students which is entitled “When English Rings a Bell” (WERB) does not have adequate listening materials. Listening plays a critical important role in language learning, communication, academic pursuit, and current English curriculum (Rost, 2002; Vandergrifft, 2004 in Li and Renandya, 2012). Therefore, there should be adequate listening materials for English language learners. This paper presents the theories underpinning the development of listening supplementary materials for the seventh grade students based on Curriculum 2013. The theories presented in this paper are about (1) teaching listening, (2) supplementary materials, and (3) how to develop listening supplementary materials. By considering these theories, it is hoped that scholars, teachers, and material developers can have theoretical insights in developing listening supplementary materials. Meningkatkan Prestasi Belajar melalui Model Mind Mapping pada Materi Lingkaran Mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika Fkip Universitas Jambi

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan prestasi belajar mahasiswa semester IV Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika FKIP Universitas Jambi pada materi Lingkaran. Perlu disadari bahwa model perkuliahan yang monoton seperti yang sering dilakukan akan menimbulkan kejenuhan terhadap peserta didik, bahkan penggunaan model pembelajaran yang kurang tepat akan menyebabkan mahasiswa memperoleh pengalaman belajar kurang maksimal. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika FKIP Universitas Jambi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester IV yang mengikuti mata kuliah Geometri yang berjumlah 31 orang. Penggunakan model Mind Mapping ternyata memberikan pengaruh yang positif terhadap kualitas perkuliahan, khususnya pada materi Lingkaran. Hal ini terlihat melalui hasil belajar yang diperoleh mahasiswa meningkat setelah dilakukan penyempurnaan tindakan sampai siklus III, dimana ketuntasan hasil belajar tersebut naik mencapai 96,7%. Maka penulis menyarankan agar pembuatan Mind Mapping perlu dikembangkan untuk membantu cara berpikir mahasiswa sebagai langkah awal dalam menyelesaikan masalah Lingkaran

Efektifitas Tes Formatif pada Pembelajaran Matematika di SMPN 16 Kota Jambi.

Pelaksanaan tes formatif terdapat pada bagian akhir setiap paket kegiatan pembelajaran. Tes ini bertujuan untuk memonitor efektifitas proses pembelajaran, sebaliknya tes formatif bukan untuk memberikan penilaian terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Pelaksanaan tes formatif dimaksud adalah pelaksanaan tes formatif yang meliputi kegiatan yang dilakukan guru terhadap aktivitas siswa dalam proses belajar mengajar. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas tes formatif yang di laksanakan pada bidang studi matematika di SMP N 16 Kota Jambi. Untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan tes formatif dan efektifitasnya pada pembelajaran matematika digunakan kuisioner tertutup dan dianalisis menggunakan prosentase dan rata-rata. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara keseluruhan pelaksanaan tes formatif bagi siswa tergolong sedang (58%) dan efektifitas terhadap pemebelajaran juga tergolong sedang (63%)

Formal and substantive validity: the fitting of material competence

En este trabajo se analizan tres nociones que son usualmente utilizadas por los juristas cuando se ocupan del problema de la validez de las normas jurídicas. Se trata de las nociones de validez formal, de validez material o sustantiva y de competencia material. Tomando como punto de partida los términos en los que los juristas trazan habitualmente la distinción entre validez formal y validez material, en el trabajo se aborda el problema del encaje de competencia material, así como las similitudes y diferencias entre los juicios de validez material y los de competencia material.In this paper the author analyzes three notions that are usually used by lawyers when dealing with the problem of the validity of legal norms. These are the notions of formal validity, substantive or material validity and material competence. Taking as starting point the way in which lawyers usually draw the distinction between formal and material validity, the author addresses the problem of fitting the concept of material competence into one of the two categories, as well as the similarities and differences between statements of material validity and material competence
