Reliability assessment of microgrid with renewable generation and prioritized loads

With the increase in awareness about the climate change, there has been a tremendous shift towards utilizing renewable energy sources (RES). In this regard, smart grid technologies have been presented to facilitate higher penetration of RES. Microgrids are the key components of the smart grids. Microgrids allow integration of various distributed energy resources (DER) such as the distributed generation (DGs) and energy storage systems (ESSs) into the distribution system and hence remove or delay the need for distribution expansion. One of the crucial requirements for utilities is to ensure that the system reliability is maintained with the inclusion of microgrid topology. Therefore, this paper evaluates the reliability of a microgrid containing prioritized loads and distributed RES through a hybrid analytical-simulation method. The stochasticity of RES introduces complexity to the reliability evaluation. The method takes into account the variability of RES through Monte- Carlo state sampling simulation. The results indicate the reliability enhancement of the overall system in the presence of the microgrid topology. In particular, the highest priority load has the largest improvement in the reliability indices. Furthermore, sensitivity analysis is performed to understand the effects of the failure of microgrid islanding in the case of a fault in the upstream network

Frequency shifting approach towards textual transcription of heartbeat sounds

Auscultation is an approach for diagnosing many cardiovascular problems. Automatic analysis of heartbeat sounds and extraction of its audio features can assist physicians towards diagnosing diseases. Textual transcription allows recording a continuous heart sound stream using a text format which can be stored in very small memory in comparison with other audio formats. In addition, a text-based data allows applying indexing and searching techniques to access to the critical events. Hence, the transcribed heartbeat sounds provides useful information to monitor the behavior of a patient for the long duration of time. This paper proposes a frequency shifting method in order to improve the performance of the transcription. The main objective of this study is to transfer the heartbeat sounds to the music domain. The proposed technique is tested with 100 samples which were recorded from different heart diseases categories. The observed results show that, the proposed shifting method significantly improves the performance of the transcription

ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING AND POSTCOLONIAL LITERATURE HOW AND WHY JAMAICA KINCAID’S A SMALL PLACE CAN BE USED IN THE LANGUAGE CLASSROOM IN SWEDEN

This essay deals with why and how postcolonial literature, such as Jamaica Kincaid’s A Small Place, could be incorporated in English Language Teaching at the upper secondary level in Sweden. The curriculum and syllabus for English are used to support the argument that postcolonial literature is a valuable and necessary part of the language classroom because it provides a perspective that is seldom represented in the Western Canon. With the aid of postcolonial theory and sociocultural theory, I argue that both teachers and students need to be critical of how the construction of knowledge is produced and be aware of Eurocentric tendencies and that students will be able to better comprehend the content of A Small Place through collaborative learning. In conclusion, postcolonial literature such as A Small Place provides an opportunity to look at issues such as colonization, globalization and the tourist industry from a non-Western perspective and help broaden the students’ horizons regarding such issues

Hubungan Karakteristik Personal Auditor Terhadap Perilaku Penyimpangan Dalam Audit

This study aimed to obtain empirical evidence about the relationship of personal characteristics of auditors, either individually (partial) and jointly (simultaneously) on the Dysfunctional Audit Behavior. Independent variables in this research that the personal characteristics of auditors that is formed by three indicators that shape it, among others, external locus of control, performance and turnover intention. While the dependent variable in this research that the behavior of irregularities in the audit. The data used in this study is the primary data obtained through questionnaires. Of the 80 questionnaires distributed, 63 questionnaires were returned and analyzed. Data analysis using regression methods. The results showed the first hypothesis (H1) is an external locus of control are positively related to behavioral aberrations in the audit is rejected, the second hypothesis (H2) is negatively related to performance of the behavior of irregularities in the audit is rejected, the third hypothesis (H3) turnover intention are positively related to behavioral aberrations in the audit is received

Data were analyzed based on two sources of information: 1) during data collection that is: data reduction stage, encodes, data selection, memo, make summaries and temporary hypotesis and 2) after collecting the data: such as conclusion results, either recording results, observation, or interview. Spawning and Larval Development Dog Conch (Strombus Turturella)

Dog conch (Strombus turturella) is considered one of fishery commodities in Bangka Belitung Islands. This conch is often exploited and result in their populations are increasingly threatened. The aim of study to observe the reproduction and larval development of dog conch were studied under laboratory conditions. For the treatment of spawning the dog conch were placed in spawning tanks with a capacity of 1 ton. Stimulation of spawning is done by replacing the water in the tank as much as 90% every 24 hours until the eggs released by females. Spawning was preceded by copulation and fertilization occurs inside the female\u27s body.The results showed that the first egg cell divides into two cells after two hours of spawning. Then each cell continues to divide into four cells to become multicellular and reach the gastrula stage after 48 hours. Free swimming larval phase for four days and then settle down along with the formation of the first shell. The larvae will grow up to 5 mm shell length for 20 days

Risks identification and ranking using AHP and group decision making technique: Presenting “R index”

One of the primary concerns in project development is to detect all sorts of risks associated with a particular project. The main objective of this article is to identify the risks in the construction project and to grade them based on their importance on the project. The designed indicator in this paper is the combinational model of the Analytical Hierarchal Process (AHP) method and the group decision – making applied for risks measurement and ranking. This indicator is called "R" which includes three main steps: creating the risks broken structure (RBS), obtaining each risk weight and efficacy, and finally performing the model to rank the risks. A questionnaire is used for gathering data. Based on the results of this survey, there are important risks associated with construction projects. There we need to use some guidelines to reduce the inherent risks including recognition of the common risks beside the political risks; suggestion of a simple, understandable, and practical model; and using plenty of the experts and specialists' opinions through applying step. After analyzing data, the final result from applying R index showed that the risk “economic changes / currency rate and inflation change" has the most importance for the analysis. In the other words, if these risks occur, the project may face with the more threats and it is suggested that an organization should centralize its equipment, personnel, cost, and time on the risk more than ever. The most obvious issue in this paper is a tremendous difference between an importance of the financial risks and the other risks
