Multilocus genomic associations among selected taxa of genus Potentilla (Rosaceae) in Poland using RAPD analysis
Nine taxa of Potentilla species from Poland representing P. sect. Terminales (Dõll.) Gren et Godr. and P. sect. Aureae (Wolf) Juz. were analyzed via a series of random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) analyses to test (1) the hypothesis that the six species representing P. subsect. Collinae Juz. of the P. Terminales sect., i.e. P. collina Wibel, P. thyrsiflora Zimmeter, P. wimannania Günther et Schummel, P. leucopolitana P. J. Müll., P. ´gabarae Kolodziejek, P. koernickei Zimmeter, are genetically differentiated enough to be considered as separate taxa, and (2) the position of populations of P. thyrsiflora and P. collina with respect to the Terminales sect. (P. argentea L) and the Aureae sect. (P. tabernaemontani Ascherson and P. incana P. Gaertner, B.Meyer et Scherb.). RAPD-based genetic similarity values using the UPGMAmethod and corresponding dendrogram exhibited incomplete accordance between RAPD and morphological variations. According to \u27overgenomic\u27 associations based on a series of genomic loci selected at random, P. thyrsiflora and P. collina are closely related and similarly related to the species: P. argentea, P. tabernaemontani and P. incana hypothesized as being \u27parental\u27. Within Terminales sect., our dendrogram shows P. argentea to be relatively isolated from the other members of the section analysed, P. thyrsiflora and P. collina
Charge separation by photoexcitation in semicrystalline polymeric semiconductors: An intrinsic or extrinsic mechanism?
We probe charge photogeneration and subsequent recombination dynamics in neat
regioregular poly(3-hexylthiophene) films over six decades in time by means of
time-resolved photoluminescence spectroscopy. Exciton dissociation at 10K
occurs extrinsically at interfaces between molecularly ordered and disordered
domains. Polaron pairs thus produced recombine by tunnelling with distributed
rates governed by the distribution of electron-hole radii. Quantum-chemical
calculations suggest that hot-exciton dissociation at such interfaces results
from a high charge-transfer character.Comment: 10 pages, 3 figure
Terahertz Radiation Detection by Field Effect Transistor in Magnetic Field
We report on terahertz radiation detection with InGaAs/InAlAs Field Effect
Transistors in quantizing magnetic field. The photovoltaic detection signal is
investigated at 4.2 K as a function of the gate voltage and magnetic field.
Oscillations analogous to the Shubnikov-de Haas oscillations, as well as their
strong enhancement at the cyclotron resonance, are observed. The results are
quantitatively described by a recent theory, showing that the detection is due
to rectification of the terahertz radiation by plasma waves related
nonlinearities in the gated part of the channel.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figure
Diagnostic Application for Development of Custom ATCA Carrier Board for LLRF
The Advanced Telecommunications Computing Architecture (ATCA) standard describes a powerful and efficient platform. With multiple integrated solutions like redundancies and intelligent control mechanisms this technology is characterized with reliability estimated at the level of 99.99999 percent. These features make the standard perfect for use in projects like the Free Electron Laser in Hamburg (FLASH) and the X-ray Free Electron Laser (X-FEL) in order to help them meet the requirements of high availability and reliability. The ATCA standard incorporates advanced control systems defined in the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) specification as one of the key elements. The entire ATCA implementation retains its functionality as long as the IPMI remains operational. The complexity level of the application increases, which results in preparing it to run and debugging being more difficult to perform. At the same time, only scrupulous elimination of any kind of possible deficiencies can enable the ATCA implementation to offer the desired level of reliability. Thus, diagnostics become crucial, which creates a need for additional tools performing these tasks during the preparations of both hardware and software for the ATCA application. The paper presents application aiding in development of the prototype Carrier Board by enabling the user of external PC station to perform diagnostic and control activities over the Board. It helps in examining all its components at the stage of running the Board, as well as in further operation analysis
