Solar light enriched Co3O4/SnO2/TiO2 hybrid ternary systems: spectral characterization, photoinduced charge separation and photostability test

    No full text
Various combinations of TiO2 and SnO2 in binary composites of SnO2/TiO2 and (2-10 wt. %) Co3O4 on SnO2/TiO2 of ternary composite Co3O4/SnO2/TiO2 with were prepared. All the photocatalysts shows anatase crystalline phase and some of appropriate peaks of SnO2 and Co3O4 peaks also present in binary and ternary systems, which is confirmed by X-Ray diffraction analysis. UV-Vis DRS indicated that all ternary composite Co3O4/SnO2/TiO2 showed strong response in visible region and pure materials shows representative band positions. The molecular structure of M-O linkages (Ti-O, Co-O and Sn-O) is studied by FTIR analyses. Other physicochemical techniques such as SEM and PL also confirm the surface property and electronic excitation state. Ternary composite Co3O4/SnO2/TiO2 demonstrates the highest decomposition for simultaneous degradation of reactive orange 30 (RO 30) under solar light

TROUBLE SHOOTING OF RAW MATERIAL HANDLING IN BAGASSE PULPING

The agitator bearing and shaft bending due to foreign materials is reduced by using stuffing box in the agitator between bearing unit and impeller. The foreign materials in the bagasse wet washing are collected by using SS Pivot Needles/Bars in the wet washing system. The vibrations which cause damage (cracks) in the pump pipe line are reduced by using rubber bellow between the pump and delivery pipeline. The rubber bellow absorbs the vibration and deflections due to vibration which protects the pump and pipeline from damages. Earlier the foreign materials were struck up in the pump impeller. These foreign materials were removed by dismantling the entire pump set up. In the current work, the design of suction line was altered by introducing an inspection dummy. At the end of the suction line, through the new design the foreign materials were moved off from the pump impeller easily by removing the inspection dummy instead of dismantling the entire pump set up. Through the new design, the efficiency of the wet washing plant is increased upto 55%. Further, the downtime of wet washing plant also reduced and availability of equipment is increased.</jats:p

Study on The Mechanical Properties of Roselle Fiber and Palm Seed Powder Reinforced Epoxy Hybrid Composite

Recently, due to increasing environmental concerns, scientists and researchers have been replacing synthetic fibers with natural fibers as the main component in composites. Roselle is one suitable natural fiber. The plant’s history, physical description, cultural methods, and usages were explained to further understand this potential plant. It is clear that extensive research has been performed on the fiber extraction methods, properties, and possible surface treatments of Roselle fibers to enhance its properties in the manufacturing of natural-fiber-reinforced polymer composites. Also Epoxy hybrid Palm Seed powder with Roselle fiber to strengthen the materials; however, no review has covered the properties and applications of Roselle fibers and palm seed powders in detail. Thus we have investigated Tensile, Impact, Flexural and Water absorption test of Roselle fiber and Palm Seed powder composite. Therefore, a study was performed on Roselle fiber to determine its potential to enable a better selection of materials to produce composites for potential applications in the construction and building, automotive, and aerospace industries.</jats:p

EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF TOOL WEAR AND SURFACE ROUGHNESS BY THE INFLUENCE OF VARIOUS CUTTING FLUIDS IN TURNING OPERATION

The main objective of this work is to understand how the tool wear and surface roughness are influenced by various cutting fluids and machining parameters in turning EN8 SAE/AISI 1040 steel. Cutting fluids should be chosen by acidic nature test and viscosity test. It should have proper lubricity and act as a coolant. Vegetable oils like groundnut, coconut, and sunflower are considered to check their properties. Among these oils, groundnut and coconut oils were selected based on their properties. Experimental studies on the performances of both newly developed environmentally friendly vegetable-based cutting fluids (coconut oil and ground nut oil) and commercial cutting fluids in turning processes were reported. Performances of cutting fluids were compared with respect to surface roughness, cutting and feed forces and tool wear during longitudinal turning ofEN8 SAE/AISI 1040 steel. Experimental results were also compared with dry cutting conditions. Based on the results, the best-cutting fluid was selected.</jats:p
