    Analytical Model of Socio-Technical Sustainability of Dynamic Hypermedia Devices

    Este artículo presenta un modelo analítico de sostenibilidad de redes socio-técnicas para la construcción colaborativa de conocimiento en contextos institucionales y organizacionales. El objetivo se centra en fundamentar una perspectiva teórica-metodológica a partir de la noción de “dispositivo hipermedial dinámico” (DHD). En lo metodológico, desde un posicionamiento sociotécnico, se realiza una revisión de los principales debates y perspectivas teóricas sobre la expansión de TIC en relación a la problemática a tratar. Luego se desarrollan propositivamente las componentes del modelo de sostenibilidad-DHD siguiendo sus cuatro dimensiones: social, institucional, tecnológica y textual. El diseño del modelo, no jerárquico y relacional, se estima a su vez beneficioso para orientar el proceso constructivo de este tipo de dispositivos. Además, puede colaborar de manera flexible para analizar transformaciones socio-tecnológicas en diversos contextos situados. Finalmente, la consistencia de los resultados analíticos a alcanzar podría ser efectiva, ya que es posible vincular: el carácter dinámico, relacional e interactivo de las características de una tecnología; las tensiones sociales y políticas existentes en el marco socio-institucional donde se desarrolla; las posibles formas de diseño participativo, en función de los requerimientos de una institución u organización; y la producción colaborativa en red, promoviendo responsabilidades de gestión organizacional.Este artigo apresenta um modelo analítico de sustentabilidade de redes sociotécnicas para a construção colaborativa de conhecimento em contextos institucionais/organizacionais. O objetivo é focado na fundamentação de uma perspectiva teórico-metodológica a partir da noção de “dispositivo hipermedial dinâmico” (DHD). No metodológico, a partir de um posicionamento sociotécnico, é feita uma revisão dos principais debates e perspectivas teóricas sobre a expansão de TIC em relação à problemática a ser tratada. Depois, são desenvolvidos propositivamente os componentes do modelo de sustentabilidade-DHD seguindo suas quatro dimensões: social, institucional, tecnológica e textual. Finalmente, a consistência dos resultados analíticos a serem alcançados poderia ser efetiva, pois é possível vincular: o caráter dinâmico, relacional e interativo das características de uma tecnologia; as tensões sociais e políticas existentes no plano social institucional onde é desenvolvido; as possíveis formas de design participativo, em função dos requerimentos de uma instituição ou organização; e a produção colaborativa em rede, promovendo responsabilidades de gestão organizacional.This paper presents an analytical model of sustainable socio-technical networks for the collaborative knowledge building in organizational/institutional contexts. Its objective focuses on supporting a theoretic-methodological perspective based on the idea of a “dynamic hypermedia device” (DHD). With regard to the methodological aspect, from a socio-technical position, the main debates and theoretical perspectives about the expansion of information and communication technologies pertinent to the issue to be discussed are reviewed. Then the components of the sustainability-DHD model are developed proactively, following its four dimensions: social, institutional, technological and textual. The design of the model, nonhierarchical and relational, is considered beneficial to guide the building process of these kinds of devices. In addition, it can collaborate in a flexible way in order to analyze the sociotechnological transformations in diverse situational contexts. Finally, the consistency of the analytical results to be reached could be effective, since it is possible to connect: the dynamic, relational and interactive aspects of the technology’s characteristics; the social and political tensions within the socio-institutional framework in which it develops; the possible ways of participative design, as a function of the institution or organization’s requirements; and the networked collaborative production, promoting organizational management responsibilities.Fil: Andres, Gonzalo Dario.     MicroRNA expression profiling in Imatinib-resistant Chronic Myeloid Leukemia patients without clinically significant ABL1-mutations

    The development of Imatinib Mesylate (IM), the first specific inhibitor of BCR-ABL1, has had a major impact in patients with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML), establishing IM as the standard therapy for CML. Despite the clinical success obtained with the use of IM, primary resistance to IM and molecular evidence of persistent disease has been observed in 20-25% of IM treated patients. The existence of second generation TK inhibitors, which are effective in patients with IM resistance, makes identification of predictors of resistance to IM an important goal in CML.     Frequent and simultaneous epigenetic inactivation of TP53 pathway genes in acute lymphoblastic leukemia

    Aberrant DNA methylation is one of the most frequent alterations in patients with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Using methylation bead arrays we analyzed the methylation status of 807 genes implicated in cancer in a group of ALL samples at diagnosis (n = 48). We found that 154 genes were methylated in more than 10% of ALL samples. Interestingly, the expression of 13 genes implicated in the TP53 pathway was downregulated by hypermethylation. Direct or indirect activation of TP53 pathway with 5-aza-29-deoxycitidine, Curcumin or Nutlin-3 induced an increase in apoptosis of ALL cells. The results obtained with the initial group of 48 patients was validated retrospectively in a second cohort of 200 newly diagnosed ALL patients. Methylation of at least 1 of the 13 genes implicated in the TP53 pathway was observed in 78% of the patients, which significantly correlated with a higher relapse (p = 0.001) and mortality (p,0.001) rate being an independent prognostic factor for disease-free survival (DFS) (p = 0.006) and overall survival (OS) (p = 0.005) in the multivariate analysis. All these findings indicate that TP53 pathway is altered by epigenetic mechanisms in the majority of ALL patients and correlates with prognosis. Treatments with compounds that may reverse the epigenetic abnormalities or activate directly the p53 pathway represent a new therapeutic alternative for patients with ALL

    Competencia laboral y empleabilidad en egresados universitarios de universidades públicas y privadas Tarapoto, 2023

    El presente estudio de investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar relación entre las competencias laborales y la empleabilidad de los egresados universitarios de universidades públicas y privadas de Tarapoto, 2023.La investigación fue de enfoque cuantitativo de tipo aplicado con alcance correlacional por que evalúa el grado de relación entre las variables y dimensiones.El diseño de la investigación fue no experimental de corte transversal porque no se manipulo las variables. La muestra total fue 220 sujetos de estudio, compuesta por varones y mujeres de diferentes edades. Los instrumentos que se utilizaron fueron cuestionarios para la variable competencia laboral propuesto por Ullah (2020),el instrumento de empleabilidad por Ward et al.(2021),ambos instrumentos fueron validados mediante juicio de expertos, se comprobó su fiabilidad a través del Alpha de Cronbach (0.964) para V1 y para el V2(0.963); lo cual indicaquela confiabilidadfue buena. Los resultados finales mostraron que, si existe relación significativa entre las competencias laborales y la empleabilidad de los egresados universitarios de universidades públicas y privadas de Tarapoto (r = 0,620: p < 0,00); concluyendo que: aquellos graduados que demuestran un alto nivel de competencias laborales tienen una mayor probabilidad de encontrar empleo y recibir ofertas laborales de calidad

    Highlights from the Pierre Auger Observatory

    The Pierre Auger Observatory is the world's largest cosmic ray observatory. Our current exposure reaches nearly 40,000 km2^2 str and provides us with an unprecedented quality data set. The performance and stability of the detectors and their enhancements are described. Data analyses have led to a number of major breakthroughs. Among these we discuss the energy spectrum and the searches for large-scale anisotropies. We present analyses of our Xmax_{max} data and show how it can be interpreted in terms of mass composition. We also describe some new analyses that extract mass sensitive parameters from the 100% duty cycle SD data. A coherent interpretation of all these recent results opens new directions.     A search for point sources of EeV photons

    Measurements of air showers made using the hybrid technique developed with the fluorescence and surface detectors of the Pierre Auger Observatory allow a sensitive search for point sources of EeV photons anywhere in the exposed sky. A multivariate analysis reduces the background of hadronic cosmic rays. The search is sensitive to a declination band from -85{\deg} to +20{\deg}, in an energy range from 10^17.3 eV to 10^18.5 eV. No photon point source has been detected. An upper limit on the photon flux has been derived for every direction. The mean value of the energy flux limit that results from this, assuming a photon spectral index of -2, is 0.06 eV cm^-2 s^-1, and no celestial direction exceeds 0.25 eV cm^-2 s^-1. These upper limits constrain scenarios in which EeV cosmic ray protons are emitted by non-transient sources in the Galaxy.Comment: 28 pages, 10 figures, accepted for publication in The Astrophysical Journa

    Electrophysiological correlates of error monitoring and feedback processing in second language learning

    Humans monitor their behavior to optimize performance, which presumably relies on stable representations of correct responses. During second language (L2) learning, however, stable representations have yet to be formed while knowledge of the first language (L1) can interfere with learning, which in some cases results in persistent errors. In order to examine how correct L2 representations are stabilized, this study examined performance monitoring in the learning process of second language learners for a feature that conflicts with their first language. Using EEG, we investigated if L2 learners in a feedback-guided word gender assignment task showed signs of error detection in the form of an error-related negativity (ERN) before and after receiving feedback, and how feedback is processed. The results indicated that initially, response-locked negativities for correct (CRN) and incorrect (ERN) responses were of similar size, showing a lack of internal error detection when L2 representations are unstable. As behavioral performance improved following feedback, the ERN became larger than the CRN, pointing to the first signs of successful error detection. Additionally, we observed a second negativity following the ERN/CRN components, the amplitude of which followed a similar pattern as the previous negativities. Feedback-locked data indicated robust FRN and P300 effects in response to negative feedback across different rounds, demonstrating that feedback remained important in order to update memory representations during learning. We thus show that initially, L2 representations may often not be stable enough to warrant successful error monitoring, but can be stabilized through repeated feedback, which means that the brain is able to overcome L1 interference, and can learn to detect errors internally after a short training session. The results contribute a different perspective to the discussion on changes in ERN and FRN components in relation to learning, by extending the investigation of these effects to the language learning domain.
