Design and Implementation of PRBS Generator using VHDL

    Get PDF
Pseudo random binary sequence is essentially a random sequence of binary numbers. So PRBS generator is nothing but random binary number generator. It is ‘random’ in a sense that the value of an element of the sequence is independent of the values of any of the other elements. It is 'pseudo' because it is deterministic and after N elements it starts to repeat itself, unlike real random sequences. The implementation of PRBS generator is based on the linear feedback shift register (LFSR). The PRBS generator produces a predefined sequence of 1's and 0's, with 1 and 0 occurring with the same probability. A sequence of consecutive n*(2^n -1) bits comprise one data pattern, and this pattern will repeat itself over time

A Comprehensive Review of Immunosuppression Used for Liver Transplantation

    Get PDF
Since liver transplantation was approved for the treatment of end stage liver disease, calcineurin inhibitors (CNI's) have played a critical role in the preservation of allograft function. Unfortunately, these medications cause a variety of Side effects such as diabetes, hypertension and nephrotoxicity which in turn result in significant morbidity and reduced quality of life. A variety of newer immunosuppressants have been evaluated over the last decade in an attempt to either substitute for CNI's or use with reduced dose CNI's while still preserving allograft function However, current data does not recommend complete cessation of CNI's due to unacceptably high rates of allograft rejection. As these medications have their own unique adverse effects, a careful assessment on their risks and benefits is essential, particularly when additive or synergistic effects with CNI's may occur. Furthermore, the impact of these newer medications on the risk of hepatitis C recurrence and progression remains to be elucidated. Controlled trials are urgently required to assist transplant physicians with choosing the optimum immunosuppressive regimen for their patients. This review will discuss commonly used immunosuppressants prescribed in liver transplantation, emerging therapties and where appropriate, the impact of these medications on the recurrence of hepatitis C after liver transplantation

Background: To identify clinically important predictors of Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) associated self-reported depression (SRD) in Eastern India. Methods: A questionnaire-based study was conducted among adult RA patients attending Rheumatology clinic at KPC Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata between 1st January 2016 to 31st December 2016.Results: A total of 246 questionnaires were returned (responder rate: 64.9%). 180 (47.49%) completed pairs were selected and were subsequently analyzed. Most RA patients had disease >5 years (61%), belonged to rural background (>50%) and middle-income group (43.3%). 89 patients (49.4%) reported having another major disease. Nearly 13% (working age group) claimed to be unemployed due to ‘health reasons.’ Unconditional logistic regression revealed that SRD was also related to work status (p 3 months of DMARDs (38% versus 17%; p<0.05). Moreover, SRD was higher in presence of co-morbidities, highest being in cancer (HR: 2.39, 95% CI 1.41-4.18), followed by chronic renal disease (HR: 2.26, 95% CI 1.05-4.12) and stroke (HR: 1.79, 95% CI 1.02-2.92).Conclusions: Depression is significantly higher patients with early RA. Pain level and work status is related, and may implicate a vicious circle. Early psychiatric evaluation may improve pain scores in RA

Data Monetization Through Cross Industry Collaboration in Retail Banking

    Get PDF
This study investigates how data sharing between retail banks and e-commerce platforms, facilitated by data monetization, can improve customer experience in banking. Recognizing that most banking customers also utilize e-commerce services, the research explores how collaboration can benefit both parties. By analyzing customer data from both industries, the study develops propensity models to achieve market penetration and enhanced customer satisfaction. These models help identify high-potential customer segments for targeted product and service offerings. Conversely, e-commerce platforms can leverage banking data to target credit card promotions to customers with a history of high spending or large credit limits. This collaboration allows both industries to personalize their offerings and recommendations, ultimately leading to a more positive customer experience. The study proposes a novel framework for customer experience improvement through this collaboration. This framework utilizes three key pillars: portfolio segmentation, lead generation through e-commerce attribute propensity modeling, and banking attribute propensity modeling. By segmenting customers based on shared characteristics and predicting behavior based on specific data sets, the framework allows both industries to identify valuable leads and personalize their offerings, fostering customer acquisition and satisfaction. This research, focusing on a B2C collaboration approach, contributes valuable insights to a less-explored area within customer experience research

Effects of antiplatelet therapy on stroke risk by brain imaging features of intracerebral haemorrhage and cerebral small vessel diseases: subgroup analyses of the RESTART randomised, open-label trial

    Get PDF
Background Findings from the RESTART trial suggest that starting antiplatelet therapy might reduce the risk of recurrent symptomatic intracerebral haemorrhage compared with avoiding antiplatelet therapy. Brain imaging features of intracerebral haemorrhage and cerebral small vessel diseases (such as cerebral microbleeds) are associated with greater risks of recurrent intracerebral haemorrhage. We did subgroup analyses of the RESTART trial to explore whether these brain imaging features modify the effects of antiplatelet therapy
