On the Collective Motion in Globally Coupled Chaotic Systems
A mean-field formulation is used to investigate the bifurcation diagram for
globally coupled tent maps by means of an analytical approach. It is shown that
the period doubling sequence of the single site map induces a continuous family
of periodic states in the coupled system. This type of collective motion breaks
the ergodicity of the coupled map lattice. The stability analysis suggests that
these states are stable for weak coupling strength but opens the possibility
for more complicated types of motion in the regime of moderate coupling.Comment: 12 pages, Latex, 3 eps figures included also available "at

Sankofa: A Study Into The Teaching Of History In the Ghanian Education System: A Case Study In Cape Coast Schools
I wanted to investigate how history is taught in the Ghanaian education systems at various levels and specifically in Cape Coast schools. I believe that history teaches people who they are and where they come from and thus equips them to learn from their past and prosper due to the analysis of the accomplishments and faults of their ancestors. I was curious to see how and what Ghanaians are taught about their past since their Western style education system has been structured after the British education system. I also wanted to find out how much is taught about the African Diaspora in the lower and upper levels of education. History is not a separate subject until senior secondary school (SSS) so that was the level at which I focused on most. I wanted to discover all the aspects of teaching history in Ghana by looking at the curriculum, teaching strategies, the syllabus, and textbooks to see if History is a subject relating to Ghanaian students live and futures
History of exotic Meson (4-quark) and Baryon (5-quark) States
I briefly review the history of exotic meson (4-quark) and baryon (5-quark)
states, which is rooted in the formalism of Regge pole and duality. There are
robust model-independent predictions for the exchange of 4-quark (Baryonium)
Regge trajectories in several processes, which are strongly supported by
experiment. On the other hand the predictions for the spectroscopy of 4-quark
resonances are based on specific QCD inspired models, with some experimental
support. The corresponding predictions for the recently discovered exotic
baryon (Pentaquark) state are briefly discussed.Comment: 14 pages Latex including 4 eps figures, final version to appear as a

The NAS Parallel Benchmarks 2.1 Results
We present performance results for version 2.1 of the NAS Parallel Benchmarks (NPB) on the following architectures: IBM SP2/66 MHz; SGI Power Challenge Array/90 MHz; Cray Research T3D; and Intel Paragon. The NAS Parallel Benchmarks are a widely-recognized suite of benchmarks originally designed to compare the performance of highly parallel computers with that of traditional supercomputers

Youth Mental Health First Aid Training: Impact on the Ability to Recognize and Support Youth Needs.
Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) trains individuals who regularly interact with youth to identify youth experiencing mental health challenges. Several studies demonstrate positive training impacts, but few assess whether the training equally impacts participants of different demographic and professional backgrounds or those who participate in different training modalities. Using a pre-post follow-up design with a comparison group, this study examined changes in participants confidence in their ability to recognize and support youth mental health needs 1 to 2 months after training. Data were collected over two years (2021-2023) from training participants (n = 480) and comparable non-participants (n = 51). The authors examined whether changes in confidence varied by participant race/ethnicity, professional role in the education or mental health fields, and training modality (online versus hybrid). Training participants confidence in supporting youth mental health increased significantly compared to non-participants. Although the training was effective for all participants, those with less mental health experience benefited more, consistent with previous research. While both in-person and hybrid training were effective, in-person training participants reported slightly higher confidence scores than virtual at follow-up. Study findings suggest that educational and social service organizations should offer this training to their staff and community members who interact with youth, prioritizing participants with less prior mental health training and delivering training through an in-person training modality when possible. However, additional research is needed to explore how aspects of in-person training, such as trainer characteristics and group dynamics, impact outcomes
Prospects for Pentaquark Searches in Annihilations and Collisions
Recent strong experimental evidence of a narrow exotic S = +1 baryon
resonance, , suggests the existence of other exotic baryons. We
discuss the prospects of confirming earlier experimental evidence of
and the observation of additional hypothetical exotic baryons in
annihilations and collisions at LEP and B Factories

Una Aproximación A La Vejez Uruguaya Desde La Teoría Del Reconocimiento. / An Approach to Old Age Uruguaya from the Theory of Recognition.
This paper attempts to study the concept of recognition applied to old age, based on Axel Honneth’s theory. Throughout this article, the object is to theorize about some recognition and non-recognition patterns experienced by the elderly, and how this may aff ect them. Also, understand how the law takes center stage in recognition analysis. Non-recognition patterns tend to have a negative impact on how the elderly perceive themselves, on what they think, and in consequence, how they act
