Based on the theory that the behavior of „difficult“ children is a result of a socio-cultural evolution that has adversely affected the inner-psychological process of triangulation and, based on the school of thought of purposive-rational organizational structures and that of institution-specific forms of communication and action, along with the altered professional self-understanding of individual teachers – noneof which have yet to offer any satisfactory answers – the question arises in accordance with the potential of psychoanalysis concerning the possibilities for educators in the constitution of a school as a ‚triadic space’, dyadically characterized and triadically structured to support the constructive psycho-social realm of experience in childhood development. Oriented on the psychoanalytical theorem of triangularity, the analysis initially adresses the varied provenience of three concepts influencing the socializationtheoretically and psychoanalytically. In the context of a central target, this methodic approach proves to be only slightly helpful when outlining a comprehensive pedagogical concept to reinforce childhood triangular psychological structures. The subsequent discussion of the problems addressed on the slides of ‚cultural-theorist-oriented’ psychoanalysis, following an independent epistemological self-understanding and cognitive process, taking unconscious individual and supraindividualculture-specific moments of subjectivity as well as biological determinants of emotional experience and behavior into consideration, leads to the formulation of tree dimensions of the dialectic principle of psychoanalysis that might prove to be helpful when attempting to configure triangularly organized processes of understanding

New evidence for the prograde and retrograde PT-path of high-pressure granulites, Moldanubian Zone, Lower Austria, by Zr-in-rutile thermometry and garnet diffusion modelling

Compositional zoning in garnet, mineral inclusions and the application of the Zr-in-rutile thermometry on rutile inclusions in garnet in combination with conventional geothermobarometry and thermodynamic modelling allows a reconstruction of the prograde pressure-temperature evolution in felsic and mafic high-pressure granulites from the Moldanubian Zone, Bohemian Massif, Lower Austria. Most garnets in these rocks show homogeneous core compositions with high grossular contents (~30 mol%), while their rim zones have a markedly reduced grossular content. Rutile inclusions in the grossular rich garnet cores have low Zr concentrations (400 to 1300 ppm) indicating a formation temperature of ~810–820 °C which implies that the garnet host grew at these temperature conditions as well. Based on numerous polycrystalline melt inclusions, high Ti-biotite relics and a generally high Ti concentration in garnet cores, the peritectic biotite breakdown reaction is considered to be responsible for a first garnet growth, now observed as high-grossular garnet cores. The corresponding pressure is estimated to be in the range of 1.6 to 2.5 GPa, based on experimentally determined biotite breakdown reactions, thermodynamic modelling and the occurrence of high-Ti biotite in garnet cores. Rutile inclusions in low-Ca garnet rims contain significantly higher Zr concentrations (1700 to 5800 ppm) resulting in ultrahigh temperatures of ~1030 °C. Similar temperature as well as corresponding pressure estimates of 1000 ± 50 °C and 1.60 ± 0.10 GPa were obtained by geothermobarometry and thermodynamic modelling using garnet rim and re-integrated ternary feldspar compositions. These high pressure and ultrahigh temperature conditions are well known from literature for these granulites. The proposed two-phase garnet growth is not only seen in different temperatures obtained from rutile inclusions in garnet core and rim areas, but also in discontinuous trace (Cr, Ga, P, Ti, V, Zr) and heavy rare earth element profiles across garnet porphyroblasts, implying a different reaction mechanism for garnet rim growth. This second phase of garnet growth must have occurred during near isobaric heating to the ultrahigh temperature peak, most likely even at slightly lower pressures compared to the garnet core growth. By applying a binary Fe-Mg diffusion model to strongly zoned garnet grains a maximum timescale of 5–6 million years was estimated for the exhumation and cooling process, assuming a linear cooling path from 1000 °C at 1.6 GPa to 760 °C at 0.8 GPa. This short-lived ultrahigh temperature event corresponds to cooling and exhumation rates of 40–50 °C Ma−1 and 5.3–6.6 mm y−1, respectively

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus protein 7a interacts with hSGT

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV) 7a is an accessory protein with no known homologues. In this study, we report the interaction of a SARS-CoV 7a and small glutamine-rich tetratricopeptide repeat-containing protein (SGT). SARS-CoV 7a and human SGT interaction was identified using a two-hybrid system screen and confirmed with interaction screens in cell culture and cellular co-localization studies. The SGT domain of interaction was mapped by deletion mutant analysis and results indicated that tetratricopeptide repeat 2 (aa 125-158) was essential for interaction. We also showed that 7a interacted with SARS-CoV structural proteins M (membrane) and E (envelope), which have been shown to be essential for virus-like particle formation. Taken together, our results coupled with data from studies of the interaction between SGT and HIV-1 vpu indicated that SGT could be involved in the life-cycle, possibly assembly of SARS-CoV.IS

We investigated rare earth element (REE) minerals in low- to medium-grade metapelites sampled in two nappes of the Austroalpine Unit (Eastern Alps, Austria). Combining microstructural and chemical characterization of the main and REE minerals with thermodynamic forward modeling, Raman spectroscopy on carbonaceous material (RSCM) thermometry and in situ U–Th–Pb dating reveal a polymetamorphic evolution of all samples. In the hanging wall nappe, allanite and REE epidote formed during Permian metamorphism (275–261 Ma, 475–520 °C, 0.3–0.4 GPa). In one sample, Cretaceous (ca. 109 Ma) REE epidote formed at ∼440 °C and 0.4–0.8 GPa at the expense of Permian monazite clusters. In the footwall nappe, large, chemically zoned monazite porphyroblasts record both Permian (283–256 Ma, 560 °C, 0.4 GPa) and Cretaceous (ca. 87 Ma, 550 °C, 1.0–1.1 GPa) metamorphism. Polymetamorphism produced a wide range of complex REE-mineral-phase relationships and microstructures. Despite the complexity, we found that bulk rock Ca, Al and Na contents are the main factor controlling REE mineral stability; variations thereof explain differences in the REE mineral assemblages of samples with identical pressure and temperature (P–T) paths. Therefore, REE minerals are also excellent geochronometers to resolve the metamorphic evolution of low- to medium-grade rocks in complex tectonic settings. The recognition that the main metamorphic signature in the hanging wall is Permian implies a marked P–T difference of ∼250 °C and at least 0.5 GPa, requiring a major normal fault between the two nappes which accommodated the exhumation of the footwall in the Cretaceous. Due to striking similarities in setting and timing, we put this low-angle detachment in context with other Late Cretaceous low-angle detachments from the Austroalpine domain. Together, they form an extensive crustal structure that we tentatively term the “Austroalpine Detachment System”.</p

Myo-inositol hexakisphosphate (IP6) is a natural product known to inhibit vascular calcification (VC), but with limited potency and low plasma exposure following bolus administration. Here we report the design of a series of inositol phosphate analogs as crystallization inhibitors, among which 4,6-di-O-(methoxy-diethyleneglycol)-myo-inositol-1,2,3,5-tetrakis(phosphate), (OEG 2 ) 2 -IP4, displays increased in vitro activity, as well as more favorable pharmacokinetic and safety profiles than IP6 after subcutaneous injection. (OEG 2 ) 2 -IP4 potently stabilizes calciprotein particle (CPP) growth, consistently demonstrates low micromolar activity in different in vitro models of VC (i.e., human serum, primary cell cultures, and tissue explants), and largely abolishes the development of VC in rodent models, while not causing toxicity related to serum calcium chelation. The data suggest a mechanism of action independent of the etiology of VC, whereby (OEG 2 ) 2 -IP4 disrupts the nucleation and growth of pathological calcification

Growth Hormone Receptor Regulation in Cancer and Chronic Diseases

The GHR signaling pathway plays important roles in growth, metabolism, cell cycle control, immunity, homeostatic processes, and chemoresistance via both the JAK/STAT and the SRC pathways. Dysregulation of GHR signaling is associated with various diseases and chronic conditions such as acromegaly, cancer, aging, metabolic disease, fibroses, inflammation and autoimmunity. Numerous studies entailing the GHR signaling pathway have been conducted for various cancers. Diverse factors mediate the up- or down-regulation of GHR signaling through post-translational modifications. Of the numerous modifications, ubiquitination and deubiquitination are prominent events. Ubiquitination by E3 ligase attaches ubiquitins to target proteins and induces proteasomal degradation or starts the sequence of events that leads to endocytosis and lysosomal degradation. In this review, we discuss the role of first line effectors that act directly on the GHR at the cell surface including ADAM17, JAK2, SRC family member Lyn, Ubc13/CHIP, proteasome, βTrCP, CK2, STAT5b, and SOCS2. Activity of all, except JAK2, Lyn and STAT5b, counteract GHR signaling. Loss of their function increases the GH-induced signaling in favor of aging and certain chronic diseases, exempli
