Supersymmetric contribution to the CP asymmetry of B-> J/\psi \phi in the light of recent B_s -\bar{B}_s measurements
We derive new model independent constraints on the supersymmetric extensions
of the standard model from the new experimental measurements of B_s -\bar{B}_s
mass difference. We point out that supersymmetry can still give a significant
contribution to the CP asymmetry of B_s ->J/\psi \phi that can be measured at
the LHCb experiment. These new constraints on the LL and RR squark mixing
severely restricted their possible contributions to the CP asymmetries of B->
\phi K and B - >\eta' K. Therefore, SUSY models with dominant LR flavor mixing
is the only way to accommodate the apparent deviation of CP asymmetries from
those expected in the standard model. Finally we present an example of SUSY
non-minimal flavor model that can accommodate the new \Delta M_{B_s} results
and also induces significant CP asymmetries in B_s ->J/\psi \phi, B->\phi K and
B ->\eta' K processes.Comment: 4 page
Cosmological Consequences of QCD Phase Transition(s) in Early Universe
We discuss the cosmological consequences of QCD phase transition(s) on the
early universe. We argue that our recent knowledge about the transport
properties of quark-gluon plasma (QGP) should throw additional lights on the
actual time evolution of our universe. Understanding the nature of QCD phase
transition(s), which can be studied in lattice gauge theory and verified in
heavy ion experiments, provides an explanation for cosmological phenomenon stem
from early universe.Comment: 8 pages, 2 eps figure
Stability in Generalized Modified Gravity
The stability issue of a large class of modified gravitational models is
discussed with particular emphasis to de Sitter solutions. Three approaches are
briefly presented and the generalization to more general cases is mentioned.Comment: 6 pages, talk delivered at DSU08 Cair
Assessment of tradable short-term transmission access rights to integrate renewable generation
Current regulatory practices in Great Britain (GB) grant future transmission access rights to constrained transmission areas subject to the completion of the associated transmission network reinforcements. This, however, may introduce substantial delays for generators to have access to the system and is of particular concern for wind farms wanting to connect in the north, remote from the main demand centres in the south. This paper examines the trading of transmission access rights, between conventional generators and new entrant renewables, as a possible short term remedy. An approach, using contingency analysis and sensitivity calculations, is described to determine the best candidate locations for the trading of transmission access rights between different generators. The approach is then implemented on a 250 node model representing a significant part of the GB system and results are elaborated
TeV Scale Gauged B-L With Inverse Seesaw Mechanism
We propose a modified version of the TeV scale B-L extension of the standard
model, where neutrino masses are generated through the inverse seesaw
mechanism. We show that heavy neutrinos associated with this model can be
accessible via clean signals at the LHC. The search for the extra gauge boson
Z'_{B-L} through the decay into dileptons or two dileptons plus missing energy
is studied. We also show that the B-L extra Higgs can be directly probed at the
LHC via a clean dilepton and missing energy signal.Comment: 4 pages, revte
EDM-free supersymmetric CP violation with non-universal soft terms
Non-universality in the soft breaking terms is a common feature in most
superstring inspired SUSY models. This property is required to obtain sizeable
CP violation effects from SUSY and, on the other hand, can be used to avoid the
Electric Dipole Moment constraints. We take advantage of these qualities and
explore a class of SUSY models based on type I string theory where scalar
masses, gaugino masses and trilinear couplings are non-universal. In this
framework, we show that, in the presence of large SUSY phases, the bounds on
the Electric Dipole Moments can be controled without fine-tuning. At the same
time, we find that these phases, free from EDM constraints, lead to large
contributions to the observed CP phenomena in Kaon system and, in particular,
to direct CP violation in epsilon'/epsilon.Comment: 1 reference added. 19 pages, 2 figure
