Mathematical Modeling of the Transmission Dynamics of Pediculosis Capitis
This study presents a modified mathematical model to analyze the transmission dynamics of pediculosis capitis (head lice). By employing stability analysis on a modified model, we demonstrated that, when the basic reproduction number (R₀ < 1) is maintained below the critical threshold of one, complete eradication of head lice from a host population is achievable. Simulations based on our analytical results predict that this elimination can occur within a 30-day timeframe, providing a clear target for effective public health interventions

A five-year survey of African swine fever outbreaks in Plateau State, Nigeria
Reported here is a five-year account of outbreaks of African swine fever (ASF) in Plateau state, which devastated swine production and almost threw the whole pig induatry of the state in total disarray. Although veterinary authorities from 15 local government areas (LGA) of the state kreported the lsuspicion of the ldiseas, confirmation by laboratory test was obtained only from 8 LGA.s namely: Jos-North, Jos-South, Mangu, Pankshin, Langtang North, LantangSouth, Shendam and quaan-pan, representing all the three zones of the state (Northern, central and southern zones). Since its initial outbreak in 1999, the disease; has remained enzootic in the state. A control programme ,involving improved management, major surveillance operation, heightened public awareness and a market value compensation scheme for slaughtered pigs is suggested
It is shown that increase of canalicular secretion in rats becaused by drinking of water Naftussya accompanied increase massa of haemolymphatic node and contents in its of endothelio-, reticulo-, lymphocytes, eosinophyles and macrophages, blood level lymphocytes, monocytes and segmental nucleare neutrophyles but decrease activity and completion of phagocytose of neutrophyles and level of lymphoblastes in splenocytogramme. The using of cytostatic drug abolishes but anabolic drug potentiates both activating and inhibiting influence of water Naftussya
Odgovor glatkog mišića dvanaestnika na histamin i karbakol u tijeku infekcije bakterijom Escherichia coli u pilića.
The contractile responses of the duodenal segments from healthy and Escherichia coli infected broiler chickens on exposure to exogenous histamine and carbachol were studied. Molar concentrations of the agonists were introduced into suspensions of the segments in Tyrodes solution at 37 oC and the responses recorded using kymograph. Both healthy and infected segments responded dose-dependently to the agonists. The healthy segments showed greater sensitivity to the agonists and produced significantly (P<0.05) higher mean maximum responses in all cases. The threshold responses to molar concentrations of the drugs were lower for segments from infected chickens. It is suggested that E. coli infection may have altered the contractile responses of chicken duodenum to the agonists.

Effect of Board Attributes on Financial Reporting Quality of Quoted Consumer Goods Companies in Nigeria
This study examines the impact of board composition on the degree of financial reporting quality of consumer goods companies listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange between 2016 and 2021. Samples of thirteen businesses were selected after using two filters. The study employed an ex post facto methodology, and secondary data were extracted from the population's annual reports and accounts. Regression utilising the Ordinary Least Square Model was used to test the hypotheses. An increase in the number of specialists on the board will help consumer goods companies' financial reporting because it was discovered that board expertise is essential and positively correlated with financial reporting quality. On the other hand, it was discovered that board diversity and independence were unimportant and irrelevant to the accuracy of financial reporting. The study concludes that board attributes, particularly board expertise, influence the quality of financial reporting. Accordingly, listed consumer goods firms should prioritise board expertise by increasing the number of non-executive members on the board who are knowledgeable about accounting, have professional certifications, and have a wealth of work experience to reduce management manipulations and halt fraud in the company
The Socio-cultural Behaviours of Women’s Health Facilities Utilisation in Northern Nigeria
This study looks at the influence of socio-cultural behaviours and women’s health facilities utilisations in northern Nigeria. A Pearson’s correlation statistical analysis was employed using a questionnaire administered to 315 women between the ages of 15 and 45 years. The findings indicate husband’s permission had strong significant relationships to antenatal care services (ANC). In addition, there were strong significant relationships between women limited freedom and female genital mutilation in terms of skilled delivery (DC) as well as husband’s permission and limited freedom of women among others. Also, a strong significant relationship exists between the postnatal care services (PNC) and limited women freedom as well as with home delivery and hot-bathing practices among others. To improve women health care utilisation and maternal health in northern Nigeria, this study provides useful planning information drawn from the women sociocultural behaviours leading to the consequent low modern health facilities utilisations.

Heavy Metal Toxicosis and Male Fertility: The Role of Pentahydroxyflavone Quercetin: a Review
The effect of heavy metals (HMs) has been extensively studied. They cause diverse clinical manifestation through various mechanisms. Male fertility is among the most disturbing effect of HMs affecting family life in human and reproduction in animals. Notably among these effects is interference with the reproductive hormones, morphology and function of reproductive organs, sexual behaviors, and the spermiogram. Quercetin is a dietary flavanoid from edible plants and, has proven pharmacological properties in the treatment and management of many disease conditions. Quercetin ameliorates the adverse effects of HMs on male reproductive hormones by increasing the activity of 3β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (3β- HSD) and 17β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (17β-HSD) in the synthesis of testosterone. Quercetin chelates HMs, scavenge free radicals, and other cytotoxicant capable of disrupting the morphology and function of the male reproductive system. Apart from it neuroprotective activity on the pituitary gland and increased steroidogenesis, quercetin mitigate neurotransmitter that aid in copulation and improve histopathological changes in the brain due to HMs toxicity to improve sexual behavior. Quercetin was also found to be effective in increasing sperm count, daily sperm production, mortility, viability, and also decreased in the percentage of abnormal sperm morphology due to HMs toxicity. In conclusion quercetin was found to be effective in mitigating HMs toxicity that affects male fertility, and so, it is recommended to be incorporated into the treatment and management of HMs toxicity. Individuals who are at risk of HMs toxicity should take dietary plants that contain quercetin to minimize the effects of these metals
