    New Optimal Weight Combination Model for Forecasting Precipitation

    In order to overcome the inaccuracy of the forecast of a single model, a new optimal weight combination model is established to increase accuracies in precipitation forecasting, in which three forecast submodels based on rank set pair analysis (R-SPA) model, radical basis function (RBF) model and autoregressive model (AR) and one weight optimization model based on improved real-code genetic algorithm (IRGA) are introduced. The new model for forecasting precipitation time series is tested using the annual precipitation data of Beijing, China, from 1978 to 2008. Results indicate the optimal weights were obtained by using genetic algorithm in the new optimal weight combination model. Compared with the results of R-SPA, RBF, and AR models, the new model can improve the forecast accuracy of precipitation in terms of the error sum of squares. The amount of improved precision is 22.6%, 47.4%, 40.6%, respectively. This new forecast method is an extension to the combination prediction method

    Pressure Effect on the superconducting properties of LaO_{1-x}F_{x}FeAs(x=0.11) superconductor

    Diamagnetic susceptibility measurements under high hydrostatic pressure (up to 1.03 GPa) were carried out on the newly discovered Fe-based superconductor LaO_{1-x}F_{x}FeAs(x=0.11). The transition temperature T_c, defined as the point at the maximum slope of superconducting transition, was enhanced almost linearly by hydrostatic pressure, yielding a dT_c/dP of about 1.2 K/GPa. Differential diamagnetic susceptibility curves indicate that the underlying superconducting state is complicated. It is suggested that pressure plays an important role on pushing low T_c superconducting phase toward the main (optimal) superconducting phase.Comment: 7 pages, 4 figure

Methods:To respectively analyze the intraoperative frozen sections of 43 cases of papillary thyroid carcinoma in our department. Results:By intraoperative frozen sections, 43 cases of papillary thyroid carcinoma were diagnosed, the diagnostic accuracy amounting to 100%.Conclusion:Increasing the diagnosis accuracy of intraoperative frozen sections counts in understanding clinical data in detail,drawing materials correctly and comprehensively,commanding common papillary thyroid carcinoma pathologic diagnosis and differentiated points,enhancing the communication with clinicians and improving the quality of frozen sections

    Nernst effect of the new iron-based superconductor LaO1x_{1-x}Fx_{x}FeAs

    We report the first Nernst effect measurement on the new iron-based superconductor LaO1x_{1-x}Fx_{x}FeAs (x=0.1)(x=0.1). In the normal state, the Nernst signal is negative and very small. Below TcT_{c} a large positive peak caused by vortex motion is observed. The flux flowing regime is quite large compared to conventional type-II superconductors. However, a clear deviation of the Nernst signal from normal state background and an anomalous depression of off-diagonal thermoelectric current in the normal state between TcT_{c} and 50 K are observed. We propose that this anomaly in the normal state Nernst effect could correlate with the SDW fluctuations.Comment: 8 pages, 4 figures; Latex file changed, references adde

    Measurement of the cross-section and charge asymmetry of WW bosons produced in proton-proton collisions at s=8\sqrt{s}=8 TeV with the ATLAS detector

    This paper presents measurements of the W+μ+νW^+ \rightarrow \mu^+\nu and WμνW^- \rightarrow \mu^-\nu cross-sections and the associated charge asymmetry as a function of the absolute pseudorapidity of the decay muon. The data were collected in proton--proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 8 TeV with the ATLAS experiment at the LHC and correspond to a total integrated luminosity of 20.2~\mbox{fb^{-1}}. The precision of the cross-section measurements varies between 0.8% to 1.5% as a function of the pseudorapidity, excluding the 1.9% uncertainty on the integrated luminosity. The charge asymmetry is measured with an uncertainty between 0.002 and 0.003. The results are compared with predictions based on next-to-next-to-leading-order calculations with various parton distribution functions and have the sensitivity to discriminate between them.Comment: 38 pages in total, author list starting page 22, 5 figures, 4 tables, submitted to EPJC.     Search for new phenomena in final states with an energetic jet and large missing transverse momentum in pp collisions at √ s = 8 TeV with the ATLAS detector

    Results of a search for new phenomena in final states with an energetic jet and large missing transverse momentum are reported. The search uses 20.3 fb−1 of √ s = 8 TeV data collected in 2012 with the ATLAS detector at the LHC. Events are required to have at least one jet with pT > 120 GeV and no leptons. Nine signal regions are considered with increasing missing transverse momentum requirements between Emiss T > 150 GeV and Emiss T > 700 GeV. Good agreement is observed between the number of events in data and Standard Model expectations. The results are translated into exclusion limits on models with either large extra spatial dimensions, pair production of weakly interacting dark matter candidates, or production of very light gravitinos in a gauge-mediated supersymmetric model.     Search for chargino-neutralino production with mass splittings near the electroweak scale in three-lepton final states in √s=13 TeV pp collisions with the ATLAS detector

    A search for supersymmetry through the pair production of electroweakinos with mass splittings near the electroweak scale and decaying via on-shell W and Z bosons is presented for a three-lepton final state. The analyzed proton-proton collision data taken at a center-of-mass energy of √s=13  TeV were collected between 2015 and 2018 by the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 139  fb−1. A search, emulating the recursive jigsaw reconstruction technique with easily reproducible laboratory-frame variables, is performed. The two excesses observed in the 2015–2016 data recursive jigsaw analysis in the low-mass three-lepton phase space are reproduced. Results with the full data set are in agreement with the Standard Model expectations. They are interpreted to set exclusion limits at the 95% confidence level on simplified models of chargino-neutralino pair production for masses up to 345 GeV

    BackgroundThe intestinal microbiota disorder gradually aggravates during the progression of diabetes. Dapagliflozin (DAPA) can improve diabetes and diabetic kidney disease(DKD). However, whether the gut microbiota plays a role in the protection of DAPA for DKD remains unclear.MethodsTo investigate the effects of DAPA on DKD and gut microbiota composition during disease progression, in our study, we performed 16S rRNA gene sequencing on fecal samples from db/m mice (control group), db/db mice (DKD model group), and those treated with DAPA (treat group) at three timepoints of 14weeks\18weeks\22weeks.ResultsWe found that DAPA remarkably prevented weight loss and lowered fasting blood glucose in db/db mice during disease progression, eventually delaying the progression of DKD. Intriguingly, the study strongly suggested that there is gradually aggravated dysbacteriosis and increased bile acid during the development of DKD. More importantly, comparisons of relative abundance at the phylum level and partial least squares-discriminant analysis (PLS-DA) plots roughly reflected that the effect of DAPA on modulating the flora of db/db mice increased with time. Specifically, the relative abundance of the dominant Firmicutes and Bacteroidetes was not meaningfully changed among groups at 14 weeks as previous studies described. Interestingly, they were gradually altered in the treat group compared to the model group with a more protracted intervention of 18 weeks and 22 weeks. Furthermore, the decrease of Lactobacillus and the increase of norank_f:Muribaculaceae could account for the differences at the phylum level observed between the treat group and the model group at 18 weeks and 22 weeks.ConclusionWe firstly found that the protective effect of DAPA on DKD may be related to the dynamic improvement of the gut microbiota over time, possibly associated with the impact of DAPA on the bile acid pool and its antioxidation effect

    Interplay between moment-dependent and field-driven unidirectional magnetoresistance in CoFeB/InSb/CdTe heterostructures

    Magnetoresistance effects are crucial for understanding the charge/spin transport as well as propelling the advancement of spintronic applications. Here we report the coexistence of magnetic moment-dependent (MD) and magnetic field-driven (FD) unidirectional magnetoresistance (UMR) effects in CoFeB/InSb/CdTe heterostructures. The strong spin-orbital coupling of InSb and the matched impedance at the CoFeB/InSb interface warrant a distinct MD-UMR effect at room temperature, while the interaction between the in-plane magnetic field and the Rashba effect at the InSb/CdTe interface induces the marked FD-UMR signal that dominates the high-field region. Moreover, owning to the different spin transport mechanisms, these two types of nonreciprocal charge transport show opposite polarities with respect to the magnetic field direction, which further enable an effective phase modulation of the angular-dependent magnetoresistance. Besides, the demonstrations of both the tunable UMR response and two-terminal spin-orbit torque-driven magnetization switching validate our CoFeB/InSb/CdTe system as a suitable integrated building block for multifunctional spintronic device design

    Adenovirus-Mediated Prothymosin α Gene Transfer Inhibits the Development of Atherosclerosis in Apoe-Deficient Mice

    Prothymosin α (ProT) is involved in regulating expression of the oxidative stress-protective genes and it also exerts immunomodulatory activities. In this study, we investigated the therapeutic effects of ProT gene transfer on atherosclerosis in endothelial cells and in ApoE-deficient mice. Adenoviruses encoding mouse ProT (AdProT) were used for the management of atherosclerosis. In vitro, the effects of ProT on antioxidant gene expressions and the protection effect against oxidant-mediated injury in endothelial cells were examined. In vivo, AdProT were administered intraventricularly into the heart of ApoE(-/- )mice. Histopathological and immunohistochemical assessments of the aortic tissues were performed. Expressions of HO-1 and antioxidant genes in the aortic tissues were also determined. Our results demonstrated that ProT gene transfer increased antioxidant gene expressions, eNOS expression and NO release, as well as reduced the reactive oxygen species production in endothelial cells. Intraventricular administration of AdProT reduced the lesion formation, increased expressions of HO-1 and SOD genes, and reduced infiltrating macrophages in the aorta of ApoE(-/-) mice. This study suggests that ProT gene transfer may have the therapeutic potential for the management of atherosclerosis via inducing antioxidant gene expressions, eNOS expression and NO release, reducing ROS production and macrophage infiltration in endothelium
