Synthesis of Mn0.2Zn0.8Fe2O4 particles by high energy ball milling and their applications
Ultra fine Mn0.2Zn0.8Fe2O4 magnetic particles are developed by high energy ball milling technique and investigated for physical properties. The crystalline phase, crystallite size, surface morphology, metal oxide bonding and porosity of these magnetic particles are analyzed. The porosity increases on increasing the grinding period due to decrease in the particle size and crystallinity reduces. The IR spectra measured in the range of 4000-400 cm-1 exhibit symmetric stretching mode of (FeO4) and (ZnO4) tetrahedral at 669.7 cm-1 and 545.6 cm-1. The lattice strain induced by ball milling process has been determined. The porosity plays an important role in chemisorption and physisorption of species on the sites of the particles. This property of these particles has been exploited for the applications of humidity sensor
To boost or not? Serum anti-COVID IgG in double vaccinated MBBS students: a cross-sectional study
Background: Aim of the study was to estimate the prevalence of sero-positivity i.e. serum anti-covid IgG >1.4 AU/ml in MBBS students of our Institute.
Methods: This study was carried out on 75 MBBS students of our institute (10% of 750 MBBS students of Amaltas institute of Medical Sciences Dewas M.P. India) during period of August 2022 to November 2022. All serum anti-covid IgG titres above 1.4 AU/ml were considered sero-positive and the prevalence of sero-positivity was calculated. MBBS students were asked to fill out a questionnaire regarding their clinical history of testing positive for covid, exposure to COVID-19 patients, their covid appropriate behavior, etc. After obtaining informed consent, 4 ml venous blood samples were collected for determining serum anti-covid IgG titre on Chemiluminescence analyzer. 75 MBBS students divided into 2 groups – those who completed between 6-9 months and those who have completed more than 9 months after the 2nd dose of vaccine. The mean serum anti-covid IgG titre was compared.
Results: The prevalence of sero-positivity was 94.66% calculated in MBBS students of our institute. The total antibody sero-positivity was higher in males (98.11%) than in females (86.36). The duration after 2nd dose of vaccine; over the time 6-9 months serum anti-covid IgG titre significantly high but after more than 9 months serum anti covid IgG titre significantly decline (p<0.001) and significant correlation was found between duration after 2nd dose of vaccine and serum anti-covid IgG titres (p<0.001).
Conclusions: This study; strongly recommended the need for booster doses for long-duration protection against COVID-19 re-infection and its emerging new variants

Случай раннего выявления метастазов в бедренной кости у больного раком полового члена
Background. Bone metastasis is very common in the advanced stage of numerous carcinomas. In penile carcinoma, lymph nodes metastasis is somehow common but it is very rare reported to be secondary from penile cancer. till the date, there are only few cases of penis carcinoma reported bone metastasis in literature worldwide.Case Presentation. Herein, We presented a 51-year-old Nepalese male with squamous cell carcinoma of penis. computed tomography (ct) scan of the patient revealed that there was carcinoma involving glans penis and precure with bilateral external & internal inguinal lymphadenopathies. After then, the patient was under gone for partial penectomy and bilateral inguinal lymphadenectomy and complete 6-cycle chemotherapy. After one year of treatment, patient developed thigh pain and headache and he advised to have magnetic Resonance imaging (mRi) of brain, 99mTc-MDP whole body bone scan and ct scan of pelvis and thigh. The examination report reveals that there was a sclerotic change in vertex of skull bone and moderate 99mTc-MDP uptake in right proximal shaft of femur just below the neck d/d metastasis. The histopathological examination of the true cut biopsy taken from the lesion of the femur showed metastatic keratinizing squamous cell carcinoma which is rare case of femoral shaft bone metastasis secondary from penile carcinoma. Then patient was sent for surgical reconstruction of femur. Based on the case studies review femur shaft bone metastasis from penile cancer is extremely rare.Conclusion. The best of our knowledge; this is the first early detected bone metastases to shaft of the femur in a patient with penile cancer. early diagnosis helps to radical treatment as well as palliative treatment. surgery is the preferred option of the treatments, especially for metastatic foci in the long bones.

Evaluation of potential role of R-loop and G-quadruplex DNA in the fragility of c-MYC during chromosomal translocation associated with Burkitt\u27s lymphoma
t(8;14) translocation is the hallmark of Burkitt\u27s lymphoma and results in c-MYC deregulation. During the translocation, c-MYC gene on chromosome 8 gets juxtaposed to the Ig switch regions on chromosome 14. Although the promoter of c-MYC has been investigated for its mechanism of fragility, little is known about other c-MYC breakpoint regions. We have analyzed the translocation break points at the exon 1/intron 1 of c-MYC locus from patients with Burkitt\u27s lymphoma. Results showed that the breakpoint region, when present on a plasmid, could fold into an R-loop confirmation in a transcription-dependent manner. Sodium bisulfite modification assay revealed significant single-strandedness on chromosomal DNA of Burkitt\u27s lymphoma cell line, Raji, and normal lymphocytes, revealing distinct R-loops covering up to 100 bp region. Besides, ChIP-DRIP analysis reveals that the R-loop antibody can bind to the breakpoint region. Further, we show the formation of stable parallel intramolecular G-quadruplex on non-template strand of the genome. Finally, incubation of purified AID in vitro or overexpression of AID within the cells led to enhanced mutation frequency at the c-MYC breakpoint region. Interestingly, anti-γH2AX can bind to DSBs generated at the c-MYC breakpoint region within the cells. The formation of R-loop and G-quadruplex was found to be mutually exclusive. Therefore, our results suggest that AID can bind to the single-stranded region of the R-loop and G4 DNA, leading to the deamination of cytosines to uracil and induction of DNA breaks in one of the DNA strands, leading to double-strand break, which could culminate in t(8;14) chromosomal translocation
