Value of active alumni association in Maria 01 Startup Hub
This thesis overviews the Finnish Maria 01 Startup Campus way to enhance the value and engagement of their alumni association. Reviewing research regarding educational institutions' alumni associations and identifying the key factors that drive alumni loyalty and engagement. Reviewing Commissioner Maria 01 to understand their operations, the community, and the value behind startup hubs.
For the research benchmarking was made with Maria 01 and Y Combinator. Benchmarking reveals steps for Maria 01 to consider in their operations and strategy to engage their alumni and bring value to the network, including expanding the alumni membership structure, hosting targeted activities, emphasizing alumni management, and improvement of marketing about alumni. Placing the Academy: Essays on Landscape, Work, and Identity
Twenty-one writers answer the call for literature that addresses who we are by understanding where we are--where, for each of them, being in some way part of academia. In personal essays, they imaginatively delineate and engage the diverse, occasionally unexpected play of place in shaping them, writers and teachers in varied environments, with unique experiences and distinctive world views, and reconfiguring for them conjunctions of identity and setting, here, there, everywhere, and in between.https://digitalcommons.usu.edu/usupress_pubs/1019/thumbnail.jp
Experimental Tests of Neutron Shielding for the ATLAS Forward Region
Experimental tests devoted to the optimization of the neutron shielding for the ATLAS forward region were performed at the CERN-PS with a 4 GeV/c proton beam. Spectra of fast neutrons, slow neutrons and gamma rays escaping a block of iron (404080 cm) shielded with different types of neutron and gamma shields (pure polyethylene - PE, borated polyethylene - BPE, lithium filled polyethylene - LiPE, lead, iron) were measured by means of plastic scintillators, a Bonner spectrometer, a HPGe detector and a slow neutron detector. Effectiveness of different types of shielding agaisnt neutrons and -rays were compared. The idea of a segmented outer layer shielding (iron, BPE, iron, LiPE) for the ATLAS Forward Region was also tested
Some Latin Sources on the Khanate of Uzbek »
Nowadays, yarlyks of the most outstanding ruler of the Golden Horde, khan Uzbek, have been preserved only in translations into Russian, Italian, and Latin. This paper analyzes in detail the first of these yarlyks preserved in translation into Latin. The author presents arguments for and against the religious tolerance of Uzbek and makes assumptions about belonging to Christianity of the persons close to the Golden Horde throne. Based on the data from selected and previously published Latin sources of that period, the author tries to comprehend the religious policy of khan Uzbek characterized by the traditional religious tolerance. The current historiographical evaluation of the religious policy of khan Uzbek is mainly based only on the text of his letter to the Mamluk Sultan Malik al-Nasir compiled at the beginning of his reign. Khan Uzbek’s yarlyk dated back to the early period of his rule, represents his religious policy in a completely different light. This as well as other Latin documents directly indicate that the khan of ulus of Jochi was guided in his religious policy by the same principles as his uncle, khan Tokhta
