Microsoft equity valuation

This equity report, titled ‘Microsoft Equity Research’, delves into a thorough examination of Microsoft Corporation, the second largest organisation in the world ranked by market capitalisation. This analysis is composed of an introduction to the Information Technology sector, the Software industry, and of the firm; a literature review; an analysis of the company’s competitors; the assumptions that I, Vincent Spinetta, the author of the research, made; a comparison to renown investment banking reports; and lastly a conclusion. This report employs a robust methodology, including a detailed financial model utilising discounted cash flow (DCF) to establish an intrinsic value per share as well as scenario analysis gauging the impact of key assumptions on the valuation. The key findings contained in this analysis go against mainstream thought, giving it a feeling of objectivity and independence. It is important to stress that those opinions are my own, and can still be subject to biases like any research ever conducted. The analysis and opinions presented in this report are subject to change, and no one should invest based on the findings found in this analysis alone. Esta análise é composta por uma introdução ao setor de Tecnologia da Informação, à indústria de Software e uma introdução à empresa; uma revisão da literatura; uma análise dos concorrentes da empresa; os pressupostos que eu, Vincent Spinetta, o autor desta tese considerei; uma comparação com vários relatórios de bancos de investimento de renome; e, por último, uma conclusão. Este relatório emprega uma metodologia sólida, incluindo um modelo financeiro detalhado que utiliza fluxos de caixa descontados (DCF) para estimar o valor intrínseco por ação, bem como uma análise de cenários que avalia o impacto dos principais pressupostos da avaliação. Amplified ambivalence: having a sibling with juvenile idiopathic arthritis

Despite increased awareness of family responses to chronic illness and disability, there is still a need to understand experiences of well siblings. We begin to address this by asking “What is it like to have a sibling with juvenile idiopathic arthritis?” (JIA).Eight families with an adolescent diagnosed with JIA participated. Four members of each family, including one healthy sibling, were interviewed and transcripts analyzed using grounded theory. Analysis suggests healthy siblings see their family as different to ‘normal’ families, forfeit time with peers, share vicariously adverse experiences of their ill sibling, and feel inadequately informed. Such experiences amplify the ambivalent nature of sibling relationships and are possibly felt most strongly during late childhood and early adolescence. Support from extended family can reduce these negative experiences and facilitate social and emotional adjustment which also occurs over time as the children mature. These findings have implications for healthcare professionals and voluntary organizations

Association of 1800 cGy cranial irradiation with intellectual function in children with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia

Cranial radiation therapy in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukaemia has been associated with adverse neuropsychological effects, such as low intelligence. However, records show that these associations usually occur when the dose of radiation used is 2400 cGy. We investigated whether a lower dose of 1800 cGy had the same adverse effects on long-term survivors and whether high doses of methotrexate but no radiation therapy would have a more beneficial effect. We evaluated 203 children for six years in a multi-centre European study. The patients were divided into two groups: 129 children treated with 1800 cGy of cranial radiation therapy and 74 children who received high-dose methotrexate but no radiation therapy. We used full scale intelligence quotient, verbal, and performance IQ tests to assess the patient's intelligence. We found a significant decline in full scale intelligence quotient in the irradiated group that increased with the length of time from diagnosis. Younger age at diagnosis was associated with lower full scale intelligence quotient in the radiated group. Our results indicate that a radiation dose of 1800 cGy can have negative effects on neurocognitive function and we continue to question the benefit of low-dose cranial radiation therapy

Gender and Citizenship: a look from the I Congreso Nacional Femenino Radical (Córdoba, 1949)

En el siguiente trabajo, se aborda el I Congreso Femenino Radical, realizado en la ciudad de Córdoba (Argentina) en 1949, como un evento que permite examinar la agenda de las mujeres radicales, iluminando aspectos sobre la organización y disputas del movimiento femenino de la Unión Cívica Radical, el principal partido opositor en el primer peronismo. La revisión de este encuentro permite repensar ese juego entre género y ciudadanía, poniendo en el centro de la escena los debates sobre los límites entre lo femenino y lo masculino, lo público y lo privado, en un momento de fuertes cambios en el orden social/sexual, iluminados a partir de este acontecimiento. Esta reconstrucción historiográfica parte de la relectura novedosa de un corpus tradicional, conformado por la prensa local, y habilitada por las claves conceptuales indicadas, a través de una observación documental eminentemente cualitativa.In the following work, the I Radical Women's Congress, held in the city of Córdoba (Argentina) in 1949, is addressed as an event that allows examining the agenda of radical women, illuminating aspects about the organization and disputes of the Unión Cívica Radical 's women's movement, the main opposition party in the first Peronism. The revision of this meeting allows us to rethink this game between gender and citizenship, putting a spotlight on the debates on the limits between the feminine and the masculine, the public and the private at a time of strong changes in the social/sexual order, enlightened from this event. This historiographical reconstruction starts from the novel rereading of a traditional corpus, made up of the local press, and enabled by the indicated conceptual keys, through an eminently qualitative documentary observation.Facultad de Humanidades y Ciencias de la Educació

Parents' Perspectives on the School Experiences of Children with Cancer

Interviews with 59 parents of school age children with cancer indicate problems children encountered in returning to school: missing significant amounts of school due to illness and treatments, teasing by classmates and peers, and strained relations with teachers. Most parents report that despite missing much school their child was caught up with schoolwork, suggesting that academic difficulties are not paramount. Most parents also report receiving substantial help from sympathetic and competent educators. However, parents also indicate that some teachers were insensitive to their child's condition, while others were overprotective, suggesting the need for a delicate balance in defining appropriate teacher behavior. Rock e direitos humanos: O caso dos Caballeros de la Quema e seu compromisso social e político

During the 1990s, the band Los Caballeros de la Quema supported the fight for human rights, participating in activities organized by organizations such as the Mothers and Grandmothers of the Plaza de Mayo and CORREPI. With their reunion in 2017, the band once again participated in commemorative festivals and concerts. Addressing the links between rock and human rights organizations, this article seeks to analyze the bond and commitment the band has forged with the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo and CORREPI, seeking common ground, changes, and ruptures. I ask myself: How have the links between the band and human rights organizations been reconfigured? What does support for human rights mean in different sociopolitical contexts? I believe that the band\u27s actions have sought to intervene in the production of meaning, seeking to denaturalize some hegemonic ideas and position others; however, this involvement has been conditioned by the different sociopolitical contexts. To achieve the stated objectives, I conducted interviews and analyzed data published in various online sources (newspaper articles, websites, and social media). Participant observation at concerts (during the band\u27s second period) also informed and analyzed the information. This article seeks to contribute to studies on art, culture, and human rights through an interdisciplinary approach that articulates the social studies of music and perspectives that address the social and political uses of art and culture.Durante los años ´90, la banda Los Caballeros de la Quema ha ofrecido apoyo a la lucha por la defensa de los derechos humanos, participando en actividades organizadas por organismos como Madres y Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo y CORREPI. Con su reunión, en 2017, la banda volvió a participar en festivales y recitales conmemorativos. Abordando los vínculos entre el rock y los organismos de Derechos Humanos, este articulo busca analizar el lazo y el compromiso que la banda ha entablado con las Madres de Plaza de Mayo y la CORREPI, buscando puntos en común, cambios y rupturas. Me pregunto: ¿Cómo se han reconfigurado los vínculos entre la banda y los organismos de derechos humanos? ¿Qué significa el apoyo a los derechos humanos en los diferentes contextos sociopolíticos? Considero que el accionar de la banda ha buscado intervenir en la producción de sentido, en pos de desnaturalizar algunas ideas hegemónicas y posicionar otras; sin embargo, este involucramiento ha sido condicionado por los distintos contextos socio-políticos. Para cumplir los objetivos planteados, realicé entrevistas y analicé datos publicados por diversas fuentes en Internet (artículos periodísticos, páginas web y redes sociales). A su vez, la observación participante en recitales (durante el segundo periodo de la banda) fue material de información y análisis. El artículo busca aportar a los estudios sobre arte, cultura y derechos humanos, mediante un enfoque interdisciplinario que articule los estudios sociales de la música y las perspectivas que abordan los usos sociales y políticos del arte y la cultura.Durante a década de 1990, a banda Los Caballeros de la Quema apoiou a luta pelos direitos humanos, participando de atividades organizadas por organizações como Mães e Avós da Plaza de Mayo e CORREPI. Mujeres y participación política: los debates en torno a la ley de voto femenino en la prensa cordobesa (1946-1947)

En las páginas siguientes se esboza una primera aproximación a la problemática de la participación política femenina en Córdoba, en la década del cuarenta y a partir de la sanción de voto femenino, desde las lecturas que realiza la prensa local sobre el activismo de las mujeres en los partidos políticos y en los numerosos centros y organizaciones que aparecen enarbolando las banderas de los derechos políticos. En los diarios utilizados para hacer este primer acercamiento -Los Principios y La Voz del Interior- se reproducen y articulan diferentes discursos sociales, en los cuales se dejan asentados los prejuicios y conceptos que ordenan la vida colectiva, y que prescriben “un lugar” para las mujeres en ese ordenamiento; lugar que se verá parcialmente cuestionado por el acceso masivo de las mujeres al escenario político- partidario.Facultad de Humanidades y Ciencias de la Educació

en el presente trabajo se aborda la participación política femenina alentada por el peronismo cordobés, desde comienzos de 1946 con el surgimiento de los llamados Centros Cívicos o Centros Peronistas Femeninos, hasta la constitución primaria del Partido Peronista Femenino en Córdoba, tarea delegada en la primera dama provincial, Leonor Leiva Castro de San Martín, entre mediados de 1948 y fines de 1949, momento en que se asiste a la reestructuración del movimiento con la llegada de la delegada censista.In this study women’s political participation encouraged by the Cordovan Peronism addressed, since the beginning of 1946 with the emergence of so-called civic centers or centers Female Peronist until the primary constitution of Female Peronist Party in Cordoba, a task delegated to the First Lady provincial, Leonor Castro Leiva San Martín, between mid-1948 and late 1949, time to witness the arrival of the delegates enumerators and restructuring of the movement.
