Post-9/11 Illegal Immigrant Detention and Deportation: Terrorism and the Criminalization of Immigration

This paper analyzes the changes in immigration policy since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 in terms of how immigrants are viewed in the United States. The goal is to address the recent criminalization of immigration in that the perceptions of terrorists and immigrants have become relatively synonymous since 2001. Although deportations have decreased, immigrant detention has increased significantly. Detention centers pose threats to the basic human rights of the immigrants residing in them, as well as perpetuate the culture of fear enveloping recent immigrants, whether they are legally or illegally in the country, and native United States citizens alike. Being that globalization encourages the blurring of borders and the movement of people across them, it plays a crucial role in the discussion of immigration and the treatment of immigrants in the United States. Globalization has the power to spread and influence public opinion more quickly than ever before in history, which houses potential for both the circulation of the criminalization of immigration and the standardization of the promotion of diversity and human rights. These parallels will be analyzed as they relate to immigration in a post-9/11 globally integrated society

Pengaruh Corporate Governance Terhadap Pengungkapan Pengendalian Internal Pada Perusahaan Perbankan Yang Terdaftar Di Bursa Efek Indonesia Tahun 2013-2015

The purpose of this research was to obtain and analyze empirical evidence about the effect of corporate governance (board size, independent commissioner, managerial ownership, institutional ownership, audit committee size, and audit committee education) on internal control disclosure. Research carried out on 30 banking companies listed on the Indonesia stock exchange (BEI) in the period 2013 – 2015. The statistical method used to test the hypothesis of the research is a multiple linear regression model. Therefore, before testing the hypothesis, a number of classic assumption test need to be conducted first. With a 95% confidence level, research shows that board size, managerial ownership, and audit committee size have a significant influence on internal control disclosure, while independent commissioner, institutional ownership, and audit committee size not have a significant effect on internal control disclosure. Should further research can increase the population of companies other than the banking companies and can add independent variables

This study aims to determine whether business strategy strengthens the relationship between family ownership and company performance. The theory used in this research is agency theory and contingency theory. Population in this research is all go public companies listed in BEI period 2013 until 2015. Determination of sample is done by purposive sampling method and the amount of sampel is 38 family firm. Data analysis technique used in this research is moderate regression analysis (MRA). The result of the research shows that business strategy as a moderating variable can not strengthen the relationship between family welfare and company performance

Estudio descriptivo de las bandas locales del ambiente under Posadeño desde la visión de sus músicos

En este trabajo se propone, por un lado, reconstruir la historia del ambiente del rock de la ciudad de Posadas, observar y describir la situación en la que se encuentran los músicos de dicho estilo y qué significa ser «Rockero»y tener una banda en la ciudad de Posadas (gestión-producción); por otro lado, se pone en debate la categoría under, buscando entender qué significa para los agentes la misma y a su vez tratar de develar si la misma es tomada como algo representativo para hacer referencia al grupo general. La estrategia metodológica elegida para esta propuesta de trabajo que comenzó en el año 2012 y sigue en curso, es de carácter cualitativo (observación y entrevistas), ya que permite recuperar la intencionalidad de los actores, reconocer el contexto en el cual se desarrollan las interacciones y sus diversas actividades. También se están tomando fotografías y videos cortos para un mejor registro y observación analítica de sus prácticas performativas. Culture and language are usually taken for granted, but they deeply affect our daily lives. It is necessary to analyze the influence that they have in the relationship between humans and their surroundings to understand their restrictions. Culture and language are concepts that are interrelated and these interrelations show how they both determine the formation of thought. The way in which we conceive the world depends first of all of the perceptions that are shaped by our culture, and second of all of the pattern of language we use. Language has different functions, among them to organize and transmits the information we receive from our surroundings. Besides these functions, when thought formation is analyzed, it can be said that language plays an important role in constructing it, and like culture, language builds and restricts the image of the world we create according to our perceptions.Damos por sentado la cultura y el lenguaje, pero estas influyen profundamente nuestras vidas. Es necesario analizar las influencias que estos imponen en la relación de los seres humanos con el entorno para entender sus limitaciones. La cultura y el lenguaje son conceptos que se convergen y en estas convergencias se determina que ambos participan en la formación del pensamiento. La manera en que concebimos el mundo depende en una instancia de nuestras percepciones que son determinadas por nuestra cultura, y por otro lado del patrón del lenguaje que utilizamos. El lenguaje tiene diferentes funciones, entre estas organizar y transmitir la información que recibimos del entorno.
