Static self-gravitating elastic bodies in Einstein gravity

We prove that given a stress-free elastic body there exists, for sufficiently small values of the gravitational constant, a unique static solution of the Einstein equations coupled to the equations of relativistic elasticity. The solution constructed is a small deformation of the relaxed configuration. This article concerns two already known drafts of 'L'infinito', one in verse, the other in prose, nowadays other in prose, today unanimously considered to be fakes. Dr Fabio Massimo Bertolo, director of Finarte, has informed me that the auction house has in custody the original paper of those sketches and has put at my disposal the reproduction, that with his permission I publish here at the end of the article. Topographic and mixed layer submesoscale currents in the Carribean Sea

Advancements in observation and modeling techniques have revealed submesoscale structures and processes in the upper ocean with small horizontal scales, characterized by Rossby and Richardson numbers of order one. These submesoscale phenomena exhibit distinct dynamics compared to mesoscale and small-scale processes, enabling energy transfer between them. They contribute significantly to vertical mass, buoyancy, and tracer fluxes, altering upper-ocean stratification and mixed-layer structure on a timescale of days. The objective of this thesis is to investigate submesoscale dynamics in the Caribbean Sea using a high-resolution model, SURF, based on NEMO. Simulations with boundary conditions set to CMEMS for the period of February 2021 allow for the observation of submesoscale features. Dynamical downscaling is employed to reduce computing costs. The study focuses on the distribution and strength of submesoscale surface layer fronts, filaments, and coherent vortices formed by mixed layer baroclinic energy conversion and topographic drag. Various variables, including mixed layer depth, relative vorticity, velocities, kinetic energy, Brunt-Väisälä frequency, Laplacian of sea surface temperature, vertical velocity field, and horizontal Reynolds stress field, are analyzed. The Chibcha channel, characterized by equatorial closeness and boundary drag, exhibits the generation of submesoscale coherent vortices with high Rossby numbers. Conversions of mean to eddy kinetic energy indicate barotropic instability in submesoscale topographic wakes. Sensitivity experiments are conducted to analyze different bathymetric and topographic configurations

Scopo di questa tesi è analizzare il trend di crescita del livello marino tramite l’uso di dati osservativi satellitari disponibili per il periodo 1993-2018, ponendo un particolare focus sull’area del Sud-Est Asiatico. I risultati ottenuti dall’analisi sono stati infine confrontati con i trend relativi di crescita del livello del mare calcolati a partire da osservazioni in-situ di stazioni mareografiche sulla costa

The effects of poetry-writing SANTEL on erotic body image in remission of cancer in women: a pilot study

International audienceAbstract Aim: Our pilot study aims to describe the effects ofa new specific and structured protocol focused on poetic/erotic writing (named SANTEL) on the (re)sexualization ofbody image in women, who have experienced cancer.Procedure: The protocol consists of four steps: to choose alist of erotic verses focused on the body parts, to fill a semistructuredpoetic text, to write sentences after target phraseson the body; and in the end, to write a free poem. Mrs V.suffered from breast cancer, and one breast was removed.She and her husband participated in this poetic writing protocol,separately. Matériel et méthodes : Il s'agit d'un protocole composé de quatre étapes : une liste des phrases à caractères poétiques et érotiques à choisir, un texte à trous à remplir, des amorces de phrases ciblées sur le corps et en fin un poème libre. Madame V. a subi un cancer du sein nécessitant une ablation complète. Madame V. et son conjoint exécutent le protocole d'écriture séparément. Nous montrons les variations discursives des métaphores utilisées avant et après l'expérience de l'écriture, à travers le logiciel d'analyse qualitative QSR NVivo10. Résultats : Madame V. passera de la métaphore initiale « je me sens une extraterrestre » vers la plus atténuée « Non. Je me dis qu'extraterrestre c'était peut-être un peu énorme ». En plus, elle utilisera de nouvelles métaphores linguistiques du corps pour raconter son image du corps telles que « ce corps de chair blanche » et « une fleur qui s'ouvre délicatement ». Conclusion : Cet exercice spécifique d'écriture promet un type de « chirurgie perceptive-littéraire » dans le processus d'investissement sensuel et affectif après la rémission, une reconstruction perceptive et poétique de l'image érotique du corps. Studio Geologico dell'area del Monte Castellazzo con elementi di geomorfologia

L’area oggetto di Rilevamento Geologico relativa al monte Castellazzo e Cima Costazza è una porzione del dominio Sudalpino Orientale, all’interno del complesso Dolomitico. L’assetto stratigrafico è concordante nella quasi totalità della zona, eccetto per alcuni affioramenti della formazione a Bellerophon in continuità laterale con il Membro di Siusi, dunque la discordanza stratigrafica sarebbe giustificata dalla presenza di una fagliazione a cinematica distensiva riconosciuta come porzione della Faglia del passo Rolle. Inoltre è stata rilevata la presenza di una faglia trascorrente destra, presumibilmente causata dall’orogenesi Alpina, che ha interessato il settore Nord-Orientale del Monte Castellazzo. Settore per altro caratterizzato dalla presenza di una trincea geomorfologica di origine gravitativa che si sarebbe sviluppata in corrispondenza della superficie di debolezza preesistente, identificata dalla faglia trascorrente. L’approfondimento tematico è proposto come studio geomorfologico della zona, comprensivo di elaborati quali: carta delle ombreggiature, carta delle pendenze, e carta delle aree di drenaggio, che possano illustrare esaustivamente caratteristiche morfologiche della zona meno evidenti, difatti l’area circostante il Monte Castellazzo non è facilmente percorribile nella sua interezza, specialmente per quanto riguarda la porzione NE, a causa di vegetazione e pendenze di versante prossime a 60°. Nella zona sono presenti anche strutture plicative di età Alpina, andando a caratterizzare l’area con geometrie complesse di interferenza. Gli obiettivi quindi sono volti a sintetizzare la totalità delle informazioni raccolte ed interpretate, tramite l’elaborazione di una carta geologica in scala 1:7000 che possa illustrare l’assetto stratigrafico - strutturale in relazione alla morfologia local
