The Italians abroad after Unification. The analysis of emigration in Brazil through money flows data sources
Between 1961 and 1985 more than 1,400 thousand Italians left the country towards Brazil and there produced a great amount of wealth, part of which had been remitted in Italy. In this paper we will concentrate on the main estimate of the financial flows through the study of official sources and try to take information from various data sources, and provide an evaluation of figures relative to the years between Unification and 1910, a period highly important for the Italian emigration to Brazil
Évolution historique et développements récents des politiques publiques en Italie
The aim of our research is to analyze the evolution of public policies in Italy. These policies are undergoing
profound changes in Italy and in Europe as a result of changes in the structure by sex and age of the population
and the social and economic consequences of these changes. Did the Italian policies take into account those
changes ? What has been the role played by the economic and institutional factors in the evolution of policies ?
The second objective of this research is to examine how the public policies adopted in Italy over the past forty
years have taken account of the changing role of men and women in society, both in the private sphere and in
society. Has the evolution of gender-related social relations linked to women’s higher level of education and
the increasing participation of women in the labor market involved more egalitarian or equality-oriented family
femmes
Simulations and comparisons of basic analog and digital circuit blocks employing Tunnel FETs and conventional FinFETs
NTRODUCTION \u2015 In the past decade the Tunnel Field Effect Transistor (TFET) relying on band-to-band tunneling (BTBT) has emerged as one of the most promising small slope FETs able to achieve a subthreshold swing (SS) below the room temperature 60 mV/dec limit of conventional MOSFET [1]. Many simulation studies attributed to TFETs the potential to outperform conventional MOSFETs in the ultra-low voltage domain (VDD < 0.4 V) in both analog [2-3] and digital [4-7] applications. However, only basic digital and analog circuits have been fabricated up to date, such as current mirrors [8] and inverter gates [9]. As for semiconductor materials, III-V hetero-structure TFETs may be able to achieve a sub-thermal SS in a wide current range and, at the same time, very competitive on currents [1], as demonstrated by a recently fabricated vertical InAs/GaAsSb/GaSb nanowire n-type TFETs [10]. The aim of this work is to benchmark a complementary III-V TFET technology platform against the mainstream FinFET reference, by considering basic building blocks of digital and analog applications. To this purpose, we selected a complementary III-V TFET technology platform designed and optimized using full quantum simulations in [11], where n- and p-type TFET pairs are realized in the same InAs/AlGaSb material system. The use of such devices allowed us to remove the excessively optimistic assumption of perfectly symmetric n- and p-type TFETs, very frequently embraced in previous simulation studies (e.g. in [2, 7]). We present circuit-level simulations performed on current mirrors and inverter-based logic blocks, which are identified as basic topologies representative of the analog and digital design realms, respectively. Similar benchmarking results for the same technology platforms have been obtained by focusing the comparison on more complicated circuit blocks [3], [5] and [6]
Food-Based dietary guidelines around the World: Eastern Mediterranean and Middle Eastern Countries
In Eastern Mediterranean countries, undernutrition and micronutrient deficiencies coexist with overnutrition-related diseases, such as obesity, heart disease, diabetes and cancer. Many Mediterranean countries have produced Food-Based Dietary Guidelines (FBDGs) to provide the general population with indications for healthy nutrition and lifestyles. This narrative review analyses Eastern Mediterranean countries' FBDGs and discusses their pictorial representations, food groupings and associated messages on healthy eating and behaviours. In 2012, both the WHO and the Arab Center for Nutrition developed specific dietary guidelines for Arab countries. In addition, seven countries, representing 29% of the Eastern Mediterranean Region population, designated their national FBDGs. At the moment several of these guidelines are available only in the English language. In summary, Eastern Mediterranean FBDGs mainly focus on food safety, not all are available in the local Arabic language, and they do not provide specific suggestions for the large number of foreign workers and migrants
Tourism and political economy for the Italian colonies during the interwar years
This paper examines some aspects of tourism for the Italian colonies during the interwar years by looking at some unpublished sources kept in the Historical Archive of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and at some ENIT (Italian Tourist Board) guides to produce an initial overview of the policies implemented for promoting and developing colonial territories
Andres Neumann’s Theatrical Archive. Sources for the history of contemporary performing arts
The paper, at the conclusion of the work conducted during the first year of the PhD course in Storia delle Arti e dello Spettacolo (History of Cinema, Music, Fine and Performing Arts) at the University of Florence, briefly describes the structure and content of the theatrical archive of Andres Neumann, preserved at the il Funaro Centro Culturale of Pistoia. The fund is a precious instrument of historiography, because it contains documents relating to the main plays of the international theatre of the last thirty years of the twentieth century. After having presented and discussed some examples of documentary types contained in the archive, in particular regarding Tadeusz Kantor and Anatoly Vasiliev, the paper illustrates the prospects for development of this research project
