Loop corrections for Kaluza-Klein AdS amplitudes
Recently we conjectured the four-point amplitude of graviton multiplets in
at one loop by exploiting the operator product
expansion of super Yang-Mills theory. Here we give the first
extension of those results to include Kaluza-Klein modes, obtaining the
amplitude for two graviton multiplets and two states of the first KK mode. Our
method again relies on resolving the large N degeneracy among a family of long
double-trace operators, for which we obtain explicit formulas for the leading
anomalous dimensions. Having constructed the one-loop amplitude we are able to
obtain a formula for the one-loop corrections to the anomalous dimensions of

Scaling of anisotropy flows in intermediate energy heavy ion collisions
Anisotropic flows (, and ) of light nuclear clusters are
studied by a nucleonic transport model in intermediate energy heavy ion
collisions. The number-of-nucleon scalings of the directed flow () and
elliptic flow () are demonstrated for light nuclear clusters. Moreover,
the ratios of of nuclear clusters show a constant value of 1/2
regardless of the transverse momentum. The above phenomena can be understood by
the coalescence mechanism in nucleonic level and are worthy to be explored in

Testing the meson cloud in the nucleon in Drell-Yan processes
We discuss the present status of the \bar u-\bar d asymmetry in the nucleon
and analize the quantities which are best suited to verify the asymmetry. We
find that the Drell-Yan asymmetry is the quantity insensitive to the valence
quark distributions and very sensitive to the flavour asymmetry of the sea. We
compare the prediction of the meson cloud model with different experimental
data including the Fermilab E772 data and recent data of the NA51 Collaboration
at CERN and make predictions for the planned Drell-Yan experiments.Comment: written in ReVTeX, 26 pages + 10 PS-figure
Parent formulation at the Lagrangian level
The recently proposed first-order parent formalism at the level of equations
of motion is specialized to the case of Lagrangian systems. It is shown that
for diffeomorphism-invariant theories the parent formulation takes the form of
an AKSZ-type sigma model. The proposed formulation can be also seen as a
Lagrangian version of the BV-BRST extension of the Vasiliev unfolded approach.
We also discuss its possible interpretation as a multidimensional
generalization of the Hamiltonian BFV--BRST formalism. The general construction
is illustrated by examples of (parametrized) mechanics, relativistic particle,

Concealed concern: Fathers' experience of having a child with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis
Despite increased research into families of chronically ill children, more needs to be known about the father’s experience. We address this issue through asking: ‘What is it like to be the father of a child with juvenile idiopathic arthritis?’ (JIA). Four members of eight families with an adolescent diagnosed with JIA, including seven fathers, were interviewed and transcripts analyzed using grounded theory. This study suggests that fathers of children with JIA experience several severe losses which are exacerbated through comparisons they make between their own situation and that of fathers of healthy children. In addition, the fathers faced several constraints which reduced their opportunities to communicate with their ill child through shared activities. Fathers appeared to conceal their distress by adopting strategies of denial and distraction however their adjustment was facilitated, to some extent, by social support. They could also develop greater acceptance of their situation over time as the care of their ill child became assimilated into family life and constraints upon their life gradually reduced through the increased maturity of their son or daughter with JIA. These findings have implications for healthcare professionals and voluntary organizations

Three-dimensional cephalometric evaluation of maxillary growth following in utero repair of cleft lip and alveolar-like defects in the mid-gestational sheep model
Objective: To evaluate maxillary growth following in utero repair of surgically created cleft lip and alveolar (CLA)-like defects by means of three-dimensional (3D) computer tomographic (CT) cephalometric analysis in the mid-gestational sheep model. Methods: In 12 sheep fetuses a unilateral CLA-like defect was created in utero (untreated control group: 4 fetuses). Four different bone grafts were used for the alveolar defect closure. After euthanasia, CT scans of the skulls of the fetuses, 3D re-constructions, and a 3D-CT cephalometric analysis were performed. Results: The comparisons between the operated and nonoperated skull sides as well as of the maxillary asymmetry among the experimental groups revealed no statistically significant differences of the 12 variables used. Conclusions: None of the surgical approaches used for the in utero correction of CLA-like defects seem to affect significantly postsurgical maxillary growth; however, when bone graft healing takes place, a tendency for almost normal maxillary growth can be observed. Gauge fields in (A)dS within the unfolded approach: algebraic aspects
It has recently been shown that generalized connections of the (A)dS space
symmetry algebra provide an effective geometric and algebraic framework for all
types of gauge fields in (A)dS, both for massless and partially-massless. The
equations of motion are equipped with a nilpotent operator called
whose cohomology groups correspond to the dynamically relevant quantities like
differential gauge parameters, dynamical fields, gauge invariant field
equations, Bianchi identities etc. In the paper the -cohomology is
computed for all gauge theories of this type and the field-theoretical
interpretation is discussed. In the simplest cases the -cohomology is

The Type Ia Supernova Rate in Redshift 0.5--0.9 Galaxy Clusters
Supernova (SN) rates are potentially powerful diagnostics of metal enrichment
and SN physics, particularly in galaxy clusters with their deep,
metal-retaining potentials and relatively simple star-formation histories. We
have carried out a survey for supernovae (SNe) in galaxy clusters, at a
redshift range 0.5<z<0.9, using the Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS) on the
Hubble Space Telescope. We reimaged a sample of 15 clusters that were
previously imaged by ACS, thus obtaining two to three epochs per cluster, in
which we discovered five likely cluster SNe, six possible cluster SNe Ia, two
hostless SN candidates, and several background and foreground events. Keck
spectra of the host galaxies were obtained to establish cluster membership. We
conducted detailed efficiency simulations, and measured the stellar
luminosities of the clusters using Subaru images. We derive a cluster SN rate
of 0.35 SNuB +0.17/-0.12 (statistical) \pm0.13 (classification) \pm0.01
(systematic) [where SNuB = SNe (100 yr 10^10 L_B_sun)^-1] and 0.112 SNuM
+0.055/-0.039 (statistical) \pm0.042 (classification) \pm0.005 (systematic)
[where SNuM = SNe (100 yr 10^10 M_sun)^-1]. As in previous measurements of
cluster SN rates, the uncertainties are dominated by small-number statistics.
The SN rate in this redshift bin is consistent with the SN rate in clusters at
lower redshifts (to within the uncertainties), and shows that there is, at
most, only a slight increase of cluster SN rate with increasing redshift. The
low and fairly constant SN Ia rate out to z~1 implies that the bulk of the iron
mass in clusters was already in place by z~1. The recently observed doubling of
iron abundances in the intracluster medium between z=1 and 0, if real, is
likely the result of redistribution of existing iron, rather than new
