Anesthesia management of a parturient with meningioma underwent elective Cesarean section
oai:ojs.bjoa.ejournals.ca:article/152ABSTRACTThe occurrence of primary intracranial tumors in pregnancy is an extremely rare event. Symptoms of a brain tumor include nausea, vomiting, headache, visual disturbances and seizures which mimic symptoms of pregnancy-related hyperemesis or eclampsia. It is a well-established fact today that the technique of choice for elective cesarean section is regional anesthesia. However, in patients with intracranial hypertension and central nervous system infection, this technique should be avoided. General anesthesia poses high risks for pregnant patients. These patients have potentially difficult airways with delayed gastric emptying, which are factors increasing the possibility of pulmonary aspiration after general anesthetic induction. This paper aimed at reporting the anesthetic management of a parturient with intracranial hypertension due to meningioma submitted to elective cesarean section. This kind of surgery needs special attention and specific skill of the anesthesiologist

Ketamine: old drug, a new option
Unique properties and recent development in the areas of clinical properties of ketamine make this agent to be popular for a long time. This anesthetic agent has wide range of indications. Many areas of clinical application of ketamine are explored in many studies. However, not many clinicians are familiar with the wide range of clinical applications of ketamine. As time passes there are many new alternative use of ketamine, a well-established anesthetic agent. The analgesic profile of ketamine is explored to have more benefits, such as postoperative pain control and as preemptive analgesia. The other aspect, which has been studied extensively, is the neuroprotective profile of ketamine. The administration of ketamine is not associated with increased intracranial pressure if normocapnia is achieved, making it possible anesthetic for neurosurgery. The other areas to explore include the role of ketamine to prevent opioid-induced acute tolerance and treat major depressive disorder
Students' Attitudes towards the Use of Google Translate in Academic Writing Class
Google Translate (GT) is known as a very useful translating tool in this era. As an English Foreign Language Learner, writing becomes one of the language skills to be learned. The researcher wanted to observe how GT be used in writing class after the pandemic era. The study aimed to know students’ attitudes on the use of GT and it involved eight participants who had already taken an Academic Writing class and utilized GT for their writing assignments. Through interview questions and themes analysis, this study examines the use of GT on students' academic writing assignments. The findings highlight the students’ attitudes towards the benefits and downsides of using GT in academic writing. Compared with the previous study, this study showed that nowadays, many students become more dependent on the use of GT and it might happen because of the effect of online classes in the pandemic era. Educators should guide students in using GT effectively, striking a balance and emphasizing the development of independent writing skills. The findings also revealed some GT’s benefits and downsides also the frequency on how students use GT’s assistance. However, from this study, students and educators should become more aware through the use of GT in writing classes and make sure that they use GT’s help properly
Covıd-19: Fınancıal Spıllover To Emergıng Asıa’s Fınancıal Markets
This paper aims to investigate the role of China compared to the US in transmitting spillover to ASEAN-5 countries (or vice versa) during COVID-19 recession. It uses the DECO GARCH model of Engle & Kelly (2012) to see the dynamic correlation between indexes and the spillover index by Diebold and Yilmaz (2012) to describe the direction of spillover between countries. This paper analyzes daily return data on stock market indexes of China, the United States, and ASEAN-5 for the period 2016 to 2022. The findings demonstrate an increase in positive spillover correlation during the COVID-19 crisis between China and ASEAN-5 as well as US and ASEAN-5 albeit with lower pre crisis correlation level than China. US acts as a net transmitter (spillover to ASEAN-5 is higher than in the opposite direction), while China is a net receiver. The findings are beneficial to provide insight into Emerging Asia market’s connectedness, which in turn will be able to guide the hedging strategies and portfolio risk management of investment in the region

How Low Can We Go? A Double-Blinded Randomized Controlled Trial to Compare Bupivacaine 5 mg and Bupivacaine 7.5 mg for Spinal Anesthesia in Cesarean Delivery in Indonesian Population
Background: Maternal hypotension in cesarean delivery related to spinal anesthesia results in increasing morbidity of both mothers
and children. Studies show that low dose spinal anesthesia was able to prevent hypotension while providing adequate analgesia.
However, the dose used in those studies varies and this leaves the debate of the dose scheme of spinal anesthesia open.
Objectives: This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of 5mghyperbaric bupivacaine 0.5% and 25 mcg of fentanyl with 7.5mg
hyperbaric bupivacaine 0.5% and 25 mcg of fentanyl to prevent hypotension in spinal anesthesia for cesarean delivery.
Methods: This study was a double-blinded randomized controlled trial of 112 mothers undergoing cesarean delivery with spinal
anesthesia. The intervention group received 5mgbupivacaine and 25 mcg fentanyl. The comparison group received of 7.5mgbupivacaine
and 25 mcg fentanyl. The primary outcome was the incidence of hypotension. The adequacy of anesthesia, duration of
recovery from the motoric block, the quality of analgesia as perceived by patients and surgeons, and the side effects of anesthesia
were also recorded.
Results: There was no difference of effectiveness to prevent hypotension in both groups. The 7.5 mgdose provided better adequacy
of anesthesia as reflected in lower incidence of conversion into general anesthesia. More surgeons reported adequacy of relaxation
in the 7.5 mg dose. The 5 mg dose offered faster motoric recovery and fewer side effects.
Conclusions: The dose of 7.5 mg hyperbaric bupivacaine 0.5% and 25 mcg of fentanyl can be used as a prevention measure against
hypotension due to spinal anesthesia cesarean delivery
“ANALISIS PENGARUH THEORY OF PLANNED BEHAVIOR, NILAI YANG DIRASAKAN, DAN KESEDIAAN UNTUK MEMBAYAR TERHADAP PERILAKU PEMBELIAN KONSUMEN MELALUI MINAT BELI KONSUMEN SEBAGAI VARIABEL INTERVENING” (STUDI PADA KONSUMEN THE BODY SHOP di CITRALAND SEMARANG)
Green consumption by the community can be an effective way to minimize
negative impacts on the environment. Research related to consumer behavior in
consuming environmentally friendly products in developing countries such as
Indonesia is very little and rarely. Considering this, researchers in this study have
tried to understand consumer behavior to buy environmentally friendly products in
the context of developing countries such as Indonesia.
Based on the gaps phenomenon above, this study aims to analyze what factors
influence consumer purchasing behavior on environmentally friendly products.
And in this study using the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) variable and then
expanding the Theory of Planned Behavior using additional variables, namely
perceived value and willingness to pay and consumer buying intention as
intervening variables.
The population used in this study were female consumers of The Body Shop
who are domiciled in Semarang aged 20-60 years and purchased The Body Shop
products at the Citraland Semarang for more than 3 months. The number of
samples used in this study were 150 respondents. The method of data collection is
done through a questionnaire. This research uses Structural Equation Modeling
(SEM) analysis technique using AMOS 24.0 analysis tool.
The test results using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis
techniques indicate that the model is not in accordance with population data.
While the hypothesis testing shows that four hypotheses from six hypotheses can be
accepted and proven in this study, namely attitudes, subjective norms, and
willingness to pay affect consumer buying intention and consumer buying intention
influence consumer buying behavior. And the two hypotheses rejected in this study
are subjective norms and values that are assessed do not have an influence on
consumer buying interest
