Political Marketing: How Social Media influenced the 2008-2016 U.S. Presidential Elections and Best Practices Associated
Political marketing has become a growing facet of marketing that has infiltrated the campaigning of U.S. presidential elections. Within this cognate of marketing, social media has become a major component of predicting election outcomes starting with the 2008 U.S. presidential election. An analysis of the social media performance of candidates from the 2008 to 2016 U.S. presidential elections reveals how the power of social media can be harnessed to increase voter participation, connect voters to offline political activity, and engage voters with candidates on a more personal note. Social media political marketing should further emphasize the candidate’s brand and build followership through targeted messaging to desired segments. Social media continues to grow in use and bypass direct news sources; therefore, it must complement and create a dialogue with traditional media, as it will likely surpass it someday. To use social media effectively in political marketing, best practices are outlined in this paper with regards to content, engagement, security, platform selection, targeting, group membership environment creation, and display
The Relation of the Concept of the Function of the Analytical Psychologist and the Function of the Guru or Spiritual Guide of Hinduism
This paper attempts to relate institutions from two very different cultures. The institution of the analytical psychologist has developed in the Western world in the last sixty years. The institution of the Hindu guru or spiritual guide developed in the East several thousand years ago. Yet the two institutions have many similarities once superficial differences have been bridged. First, a modern Western psychologist must admit that psychology is not divided absolutely from philosophy and religion If they are viewed simply as expressions of the human psyche. The view that the science of psychology was only free to develop after it had cut itself free from philosophy holds an important truth, yet in meaningless within the more synthetic pattern of thinking typical in Asia. Secondly, there are difficulties or terminology, on both sides. The terminology or analytical psychology are often even to another school of psychology

Juniper utilization : issues of chemistry and management
Western juniper (Juniperus occidentalis) poses both a challenge and an opportunity for natural resource management in the rangelands of the northern Great Basin. The continued expansion of western juniper on the rangelands of the interior Northwest will likely continue as there are currently no practical options for returning this area to a pre-settlement state. Range managers face declining economic resources from both private and public funds to carry out development goals. Because economic resources are scarce, an efficient method of juniper management is needed to sustain both ecosystem function and economic use. One method of efficient management would be to develop economic incentives for land owners to extract marketable products from juniper woodlands. These products could then pay for, or reduce the cost of, management activities such as juniper removal and native plant restoration. A promising avenue for the development of such products is the extraction of natural oils from juniper trees. Research was executed to isolate and identify a potentially useful natural
compound from the heartwood of western juniper. This compound, Hinokiic acid, was previously unobserved in the heartwood oil of western juniper. Now that its presence has been confirmed, ideas for the possible uses of the oil can be explored. By itself, the development of new products from juniper cannot provide all of the tools needed for range managers to more efficiently manage this species. Methods to determine the possible outcomes of management activities on the juniper system would also be valuable. The juniper system is complex and
research into its natural functions is ongoing. With published data gathered through previous studies, an organizational and predictive population model was constructed for a hypothetical western juniper population. This is a first effort to
model such a plant population and is designed to serve as a basis for future study. Overall, this research provides an example of a framework for combining forest
product development with ecosystem management
Scenes
The first movement of scenes was written for the Sound Icon ensemble, thus the reason for the somewhat unusual instrumentation. They read the piece at Boston University on February 25, 2022. The title scenes comes from the idea that the motive found at the start of the piece is recontextualized throughout the work at different tempos, with varying dynamics, and with changing combinations of instruments. This can be related to the scenes in a play or movie where the actors remain the same but they are seen in various locations, with other characters, and with different lines. The second movement acts as an extension of this idea, taking another motive and recontextualizing it throughout
