Like Mother, Like Daughter
My motivation for this piece was to shed light on what it is like growing up with a heritage, knowing it from your experience and family, and yet, having people challenge you your whole life to prove it. No one questions my German, Irish, or Finnish ethnicity, but, since I don’t match the stereotype of a Native American, I am constantly challenged. The image on my painting depicts my twin sister, Indigo, the only one of us five kids to have blonde hair and blue eyes, from my mother’s mother and my father’s mother and father. Having a mother who was not my skin color, raised questions. This is an inevitable part of the multiracial (and also adoption, though this was not my case) experience. I have noticed over the years that even other natives can be prejudiced when it comes to native-only spaces, like pow wows, where there are competitions of different styles of dance. Picking the winner sometimes rests on who looks the best to represent the part, not necessarily based on dance skill
Arbonès, Miller i Nin
Henry Miller was Jordi Arbonès's favourite author, a fact reflected in the number and quality of his translations of this author. Arbonès's Catalan version of Black Spring (1970) was the first Miller title to be published in Spain. Later Catalan translations of Miller's key works, the «Tropics» were kept waiting by the censor until Spanish translations had already been published. Arbonès's translations of these books, at all events, created a tremendous impact in the world of Catalan letters. Arbonès also tried to introduce the Catalan reading public to some of Miller's lesser known works such as Time of the Assassins (1975) or The Colossus of Maroussi (1987). Arbonès knew Miller's work extremely well, and his finest translation was almost certainly the Catalan version of Sexus (1992), often considered to be Miller's masterpiece. Arbonès also wrote an interesting essay on Miller (1990) and several prologues to his own translations
tingkat stres.----------Stress is a being worried , anxious , tense and forth caused by the pressure physical and

70 % dance and 30 % gymnastic .Research aims to understand the descriptions of stress
before and after the programs zumba and impact of the program zumba to the decrease in
stress. The sample is who active zumba scheme which consist of 20 people with using a

Sample T Test and using SPSS software version 20 .The analysis result is yhr data
significance pretest test and posttest of p = 0.045.On the decision made based on the
hypothesis that shows significance ( p < 0.05 ) , so H0 rejected and the zumba program
has an influence for decreasing the level of student stress
Are portrait artists superior face recognizers? Limited impact of adult experience on face recognition ability.
Across two studies, we asked whether extensive experience in portrait art is associated with face recognition ability. In Study 1, 64 students completed a standardized face recognition test before and after completing a year-long art course that included substantial portraiture training. We found no evidence of an improvement in face recognition after training over and above what would be expected by practice alone. In Study 2, we investigated the possibility that more extensive experience might be needed for such advantages to emerge, by testing a cohort of expert portrait artists (N = 28), all of whom had many years of experience. In addition to memory for faces, we also explored memory for abstract art and for words in a paired-associate recognition test. The expert portrait artists performed similarly to a large, normative comparison sample on memory for faces and words, but showed a small advantage for abstract art. Taken together, our results converge with existing literature to suggest that there is relatively little plasticity in face recognition in adulthood, at which point our substantial everyday experience with faces may have pushed us to the limits of our capabilities

Declining object recognition performance in Semantic Dementia - a case for stored visual object representations
The role of the semantic system in recognising objects is a matter of debate. Connectionist theories argue that it is impossible for a participant to determine that an object is familiar to them without recourse to a semantic hub; localist theories state that accessing a stored representation of the visual features of the object is sufficient for recognition. We examine this issue through the longitudinal study of two cases of Semantic Dementia, a neurodegenerative disorder characterised by a progressive degradation of the semantic system. The cases in this paper do not conform to the "common" pattern of object recognition performance in Semantic Dementia described by Rogers et al (2004b), and show no systematic relationship between severity of semantic impairment and success in object decision. We argue that this data is inconsistent with the connectionist position but can be
easily reconciled with localist theories that propose stored structural descriptions of objects outside of the semantic system
Intranasal Inhalation of Oxytocin Improves Face Processing in Developmental Prosopagnosia
Developmental prosopagnosia (DP) is characterised by a severe, lifelong impairment in face recognition. Little work has attempted to improve face processing in these individuals, but intriguingly, recent evidence suggests oxytocin can improve face processing in both healthy participants and individuals with autism. This study examined whether oxytocin could also improve face processing in individuals with DP. Ten adults with the condition and 10 matched controls were tested using a randomized placebo-controlled double-blind within-subject experimental design (AB-BA). Each participant took part in two testing sessions where they inhaled 24IU of oxytocin or placebo spray and completed two face processing tests: one assessing face memory and the other face perception. Results showed main effects of both participant group and treatment condition in both face processing tests, but the two did not interact. Specifically, the performance of DP participants was significantly lower than control performance under both oxytocin and placebo conditions, but oxytocin improved processing to a similar extent in both groups
