President Larry H. Dietz appointed the Campus Climate Task Force in the summer of 2016 to address the Campus Climate Assessment Report for Illinois State University. During the year-long working sessions, the Task Force heard from constituents across campus, and complied a series of short- and long-term suggestions. The Implementation Team began work in 2017, and continues to move forward with diversity and inclusion initiatives
Summaries of Mini-Grant Awards, 2018-2021
This document describes the projects funded by grants of up to $1,000 from 2018 to 2021 to support the design and development of programs, activities, and events inside and beyond the classroom that offer students opportunities to explore, discern, and act on their vocations. Funding came from a NetVUE Vocation across the Academy grant with support from the Council of Independent Colleges and Lilly Endowment.
Vocation may be defined as “Answering a call to discover one’s unique gifts and employ them in service for the common good in ways that are personally satisfying and bring meaning to one’s life” ( The Language of Vocation at the University of Dayton, 2017).
Vocation is central to UD\u27s institutional mission and a call for UD to become the University for the Common Good by preparing students to positively impact the world through servant-leadership. Grants could be used by students, faculty, and staff to develop creative approaches to supporting students’ vocational exploration and discernment
