Investments characteristics in infrastructure industry
The development of the infrastructure has always represented a major priority at the level of all actors implied in the economic-social activity, from public authorities to private organizations and even civil population. The particularities of the investment projects in the infrastructure attract a more and wider private organizations category which analyses the infrastructure differences as potential business opportunities. The present paper presents a series of particularities specific for the investments in the infrastructure sphere as well as the main attraction factor for the private companies.investments, efficiency, infrastructure

Role of Point-of-Care Testing in Reducing Time to Treatment Decision-Making in Urgency Patients: A Randomized Controlled Trial
Introduction: Shortening emergency department (ED) visit time can reduce ED crowding, morbidity and mortality, and improve patient satisfaction. Point-of-care testing (POCT) has the potential to decrease laboratory turnaround time, possibly leading to shorter time to decision-making and ED length of stay (LOS). We aimed to determine whether the implementation of POCT could reduce time to decision-making and ED LOS.Methods: We conducted a randomized control trial at the Urgency Room of Siriraj Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand. Patients triaged as level 3 or 4 were randomized to either the POCT or central laboratory testing (CLT) group. Primary outcomes were time to decision-making and ED LOS, which we compared using Mann-Whitney-Wilcoxon test. Results: We enrolled a total of 248 patients: 124 in the POCT and 124 in the CLT group. The median time from arrival to decision was significantly shorter in the POCT group (106.5 minutes (interquartile [IQR] 78.3-140) vs 204.5 minutes (IQR 165-244), p <0.001). The median ED LOS of the POCT group was also shorter (240 minutes (IQR 161.3-410) vs 395.5 minutes (IQR 278.5-641.3), p <0.001).Conclusion: Using a point-of-care testing system could decrease time to decision-making and ED LOS, which could in turn reduce ED crowding
I, River?: New materialism, riparian non-human agency and the scale of democratic reform
This article is a discussion of the “discourse on the unthinkable” surrounding potential future democratic engagements with rivers as non-human persons or natural objects. In the context of the Asia–Pacific region, this article suggests that the developments in material philosophy entitled “new materialism” are essential tools in the reconceptualisation of rivers as democratic entities but that local socio-historical conditions must also be taken into the account. In order to make its case, the article not only surveys the context for considering rivers as non-human persons in a juridical context but also discusses the new material context that assists modern democracies in the renegotiation of the demos that forms the body politic of democracy – often in the face of neoliberal exploitation and a legacy of extremes in instrumentalism. The article argues that the incorporation of water in the democratic project of enfranchisement is an essential exercise born of many Western beliefs and ideals but articulated uniquely at a regional and national level

Kata kunci: capital adequacy ratio, loan to deposit ratio, non-performing loan, .profitabilitas
Article Review: The Elusive Green Consumer: Authors: Katherine White, David J. Hardisty, and Rishad Habib Harvard Business Review, July - August 2019
Going green and sustainable has been a frustrating paradox to companies for decades. Consumers are often considered as the biggest hurdle to companies when going green and sustainable. Most consumers claim to be eco-friendly, but in actual fact their green consumption patterns are constrained by other priorities in life, reflecting an intention-action gap.
This article, “The Elusive Green Consumer” by White, K., Hardisty, D. J., & Habib, R. (2019) inspires readers of the Harvard Business Review with a comprehensive insight into green consumption and sustainable behavior throughout its 17 pages.
Altered CD94/NKG2A and perforin expression reduce the cytotoxic activity in malignant pleural effusions
CD94/NKG2A is an inhibitory receptor expressed by NK cells and cytotoxic lymphocytes and, upon activation by HLA-E, downregulates the cytolytic activities of these cells thus representing a tumour immune escape mechanism. This study was aimed at assessing whether cytotoxic lymphocytes (CD8+) and NK cells from malignant pleural effusions have a deregulated expression of CD94/NKG2A. The expression of membrane CD94/NKG2A and perforin was evaluated by flow-cytometry in CD8+ and NK cells from pleural effusions and autologous peripheral blood of cancer (n=19) and congestive heart failure (CHF) (n=11) patients. Intracellular CD94/NKG2A expression was evaluated by flow-cytometry in pleural effusion CD8+ and NK cells from cancer patients (n=10). Cytotoxic activity against cancer cells exerted by pleural and autologous peripheral blood T lymphocytes from cancer patients was assessed by flow-cytometry assay. Pleural CD8+ from cancer patients showed a reduced expression of membrane CD94/NKG2A and perforin when compared to autologous peripheral blood and CHF pleural effusions. Reduced numbers of NK cells were present in pleural effusions from both cancer and CHF patients. Pleural NK from cancer patients showed a reduced expression of membrane CD94/NKG2A and perforin when compared to autologous peripheral blood. Pleural T lymphocytes from cancer patients exhibited a reduced cytotoxic activity against cancer cells when compared to autologous peripheral blood T lymphocytes. The intracellular expression of CD94/NKG2A in CD8+ and NK cells from cancer patients was higher than membrane expression. In conclusion, this study provides compelling evidences of new mechanisms underlying the reduced host defence against cancer within the pleural space
