The role of human resource practices and group norms in the retirement process.

The present study analyzed retirement intentions and behavior as part of a work role withdrawal process. We examined the influences of the organizational and group contexts in the process of work role exit by means of two sources of work role expectations: human resource practices and group norms. Three different types of human resource practices were taken into consideration: performance enhancement practices, retirement enhancement practices, and organizational pressures toward retirement. Furthermore, three types of retirement indicators were analyzed: age considering retirement for the first time, early retirement intentions, and retirement age. Hierarchical regression analyses were carried out on a sample of 270 retirees to test the hypotheses. Results showed that retirement enhancement practices and organizational pressures toward retirement predict all the retirement indicators. Moreover, group norms moderated the relationships between retirement enhancement practices and two out of the three outcomes: age considering retirement for the first time and retirement age. Overall, our findings showed that organizational and group contexts play an important role in the retirement process. Moreover, our results indicate an interaction between organizational and group factors in the work role exit process

Dice el dicho popular "no hables del perro hasta que no pases del cortijo", y en nuestra experiencia es totalmente válido; presentamos un relato que pretende contar lo que ha significado en la experiencia de los autores (matrimonio; enfermero él y pediatra ella) el paso por una enfermedad grave familiar (Linfoma de Hodgkin más autotransplante) y de cómo se ven diferentes las cosas según estés colocado en el lado de la barrera que es la salud y la profesión (lo uno), o en el de la enfermedad (lo otro).As a popular saying goes "don't count your eggs until they are hatched" in our experience this is absolutely true. We are presenting a story that tells what a serious illness (Hodgkin limphoma plus self-transplant) has meant for the authors (a married couple, he being a nurse and she a pediatrician) and how things are seen in a different way depending on which side of the barried you look at them from, health and the profession (one) or illness (the other)

Truly Satisfied With Your Retirement or Just Resigned? Pathways Toward Different Patterns of Retirement Satisfaction

The main aim of the present study was to explore different patterns of retirement satisfaction. Following the dynamic model of job satisfaction, we identify different retirement satisfaction forms. We also examined a set of antecedents of observed retirement satisfaction forms and their impact on psychological well-being. Using a sample of 270 Spanish retirees, cluster analytical results showed four retirement satisfaction forms. These were stabilized-progressive, resigned-stabilized, and resigned retirement satisfaction and constructive-fixated retirement dissatisfaction. Gender, retirement intentions, and voluntariness of retirement transition predicted retirement satisfaction forms. Finally, our findings showed that participants experiencing constructive-fixated retirement dissatisfaction reported lower psychological well-being compared with participants from stabilized-progressive and resigned-stabilized retirement satisfaction forms. These findings provide preliminary support for the study of retirement satisfaction from the dynamic perspective and call for more research on this issue. The findings could also imply the potential value of attending to retirement transition factors to achieve better adjustment to retirement

Elaboració d’una unitat didàctica sobre la instal·lació elèctrica d’un habitatge

Aquest treball presenta la unitat didàctica de la instal·lació elèctrica d’un habitatge, corresponent al temari de quart d’ESO segons el currículum. Per a comprendre millor el contingut teòric d’aquest tema, de vegades els llibres de text de l’assignatura de Tecnologies proposen realitzar maquetes de cases sobre les quals poder fer la seva instal·lació elèctrica. Però la realització d’aquestes maquetes necessita un bon nombre de sessions de taller. El present treball intenta donar solució a aquest problema, amb una proposta d’activitat que permet simular la instal·lació elèctrica d’un habitatge en molt poc temps i amb un pressupost econòmic molt reduït, a més de descriure també com fer la instal·lació elèctrica sobre la maqueta d’una casa. Per altra banda, en aquest estudi es tracta la diferència d’eficiència energètica entre la il·luminació amb bombetes incandescents i la il·luminació amb leds. I finalment, s’ofereix la possibilitat d’incorporar plaques fotovoltaiques com a sistema de generació d’energia per a la instal·lació elèctrica de maquetes de cases

En la crida del 2016 Arnau Tordera fa una lloança a l’art de cantar. Defensa la creació artística mitjançant el fet de cridar i d’alçar la veu per reivindicar allò que més estimemi valorem.
