Sliding invariants and classification of singular holomorphic foliations in the plane

    Get PDF
By introducing a new invariant called the set of slidings, we give a complete strict classification of the class of germs of non-dicritical holomorphic foliations in the plan whose Camacho-Sad indices are not rational. Moreover, we will show that, in this class, the new invariant is finitely determined. Consequently, the finite determination of the class of isoholonomic non-dicritical foliations and absolutely dicritical foliations that have the same Dulac maps are proved.Comment: 21 pages, 2 figur

This paper establishes mixed multiplicity formulas concerning the relationship between mixed multiplicities of modules and mixed multiplicities of rings via rank of modules

    Commuting foliations

The aim of this paper is to extend the notion of commutativity of vector fields to the category of singular foliations, using Nambu structures, i.e. integrable multi-vector fields. We will classify the relationship between singular foliations and Nambu structures, and show some basic results about commuting Nambu structures.Comment: New version, with a completely new section which clarifies the relationship between singular foliations and Nambu structures. The size of the paper has doubled from 10 to 20 page

Electrochemical treatment of industrial sulfidic spent caustic streams for sulfide removal and caustic recovery

Alkaline spent caustic streams (SCS) produced in the petrochemical and chemical manufacturing industry, contain high concentrations of reactive sulfide (HS-) and caustic soda (NaOH). Common treatment methods entail high operational costs while not recovering the possible resources that SCS contain. Here we studied the electrochemical treatment of SCS from a chemical manufacturing industry in an electrolysis cell, aiming at anodic HS- removal and cathodic NaOH, devoid of sulfide, recovery. Using a synthetic SCS we first evaluated the HS- oxidation product distribution over time, as well as the HS- removal and the NaOH recovery, as a function of current density. In a second step, we investigated the operational aspects of such treatment for the industrial SCS, under 300 A m(-2) fixed current density. In an electrolysis cell receiving 205 +/- 60 g S L-1 d(-1) HS- over 20 days of continuous operation, HS- was removed with a 38.0 +/- 7.7 % removal and similar to 80 % coulombic efficiency, with a concomitant recovery of a similar to 12 wt.% NaOH solution. The low cell voltage obtained (1.75 +/- 0.12 V), resulted in low energy requirements of 3.7 +/- 0.6 kW h kg(-1) S and 6.3 +/- 0.4 kW h kg(-1) NaOH and suggests techno-economic viability of this process

Knowledge Creation And Green Entrepreneurship: A Study Of Two Vietnamese Green Firms

This paper aims to advance the understanding and practice of knowledge-based management in Vietnam by studying two Vietnamese agricultural companies. It provides illustrative examples of how knowledge-based management, pursuing a vision that fosters creativity and innovation by employees, could ultimately fulfil the profitability objective of the business and at the same time add value to the community’s quality of life. Using the SECI model as the parameter for analysis, we found that knowledge creation processes were affected by a combination of leadership, teamwork and Ba, corporate culture, and human resource management. Our conclusion emphasises the need for future research to further examine the practice of knowledge-based management in cross-industry segments in Vietnam and in other countries with similar conditions
