De gegevens zijn afkomstig uit een etnografisch onderzoek naar 16 patiënten met een ernstige beroerte in drie ziekenhuizen. Van elke casus bestaan verbatim uitgeschreven interviews en verbatim uitgeschreven familiegesprekken. Daarnaast bestaat er van elke casus een integrale casusbeschrijving. In deze beschrijvingen zijn alle uitgeschreven audiobestanden en notities van de observaties verwerkt tot één chronologisch verslag van de gebeurtenissen in die casus

Longitudinal Aging Study Amsterdam

Deze longitudinale studie bestudeert veranderingstrajecten in het functioneren van ouderen vanaf 55 jaar. Deelnemers worden elke drie jaar thuis bezocht door getrainde interviewers die gevalideerde vragenlijsten en lichamelijke en cognitieve tests afnemen. In 1992 is gestart met 3.107 deelnemers van 55-85-jarigen (cohort 1). In 2002 is aangevuld met een nieuw cohort van 1.002 55-64-jarigen (cohort 2). In 2012 zijn opnieuw 1.023 deelnemers toegevoegd (cohort 3). Vier functioneringscomponenten worden onderscheiden: fysieke, cognitieve, emotionele en sociale. De trajecten omvatten: voorspellers (biologisch, medisch, psychologisch, sociaal, omgeving), interacties en gevolgen (kwaliteit van het leven, zorggebruik, maatschappelijke participatie, sterfte) van veranderingen in functioneren

XingyiGuo/transTF-TWAS: TransTF-TWAS

<p>Transcriptome-wide association studies (TWAS) have been successful in identifying disease susceptibility genes by integrating cis-variants predicted gene expression with genome-wide association studies (GWAS) data, while trans-located variants for predicting gene expression remain largely unexplored. Here, we introduce transTF-TWAS, which incorporates transcription factor (TF)-linked trans-located variants to enhance model building. Using data from the Genotype-Tissue Expression project and extensive disease GWAS datasets, we demonstrate that transTF-TWAS approach significantly contributes to the discovery of disease risk genes.</p&gt

Advance Care Planning in de eerste lijn met de kwetsbare oudere patiënt en diens naasten

Wanneer zorgverleners op de hoogte zijn van voorkeuren voor zorg rond het levenseinde van oudere patiënten, kunnen ze naar deze kennis handelen. Advance Care Planning (ACP) is een hulpmiddel om te zorgen dat zorg aansluit bij de wensen en behoeften van de patiënt en diens naasten. Dit project bouwt voort op ervaringen met ACP in West Friesland waar verpleegkundigen en eerstverantwoordelijk verzorgenden van woonzorgcentra een eerste gesprek hebben met de bewoner (als opmaat voor ACP met de huisarts). Doelstellingen - De bestaande training en materialen bruikbaar maken voor zowel huisartsen praktijken als woonzorgcentra. - Het verkrijgen van inzicht in effecten en mogelijke verbeterpunten van (toepassing van) ACP. - Brede implementatie van ACP in Consortium Noord Holland en Flevoland bij positieve ervaringen. Resultaten Eindproducten zijn een draaiboek voor implementatie van ACP in de eerste lijn, een trainingsmodule voor ACP en een wetenschappelijke onderbouwing voor het gebruik van ACP in de eerste lijn. Mortality follow-back study on palliative care in the Dutch primary care setting

In this study we aimed to investigate the quality of palliative care in the primary care setting. In several GP-practices, we investigated files of patients who died during a follow-back period of one year. For those who died in the primary care setting, we asked the GPs, and any involved district nurses, to fill in questionnaires on the care provided, symptom management and the quality of life of the patient in the final three months.
