Nanocrystalline anatase aimed to be used as a photocatalyst for dye degradation processes in industrial effluents and has been prepared and investigated. Amorphous titania gel has been prepared using sol–gel process by slow hydrolysis of titanium n–butoxide. The prepared gel has been investigated using Fourier–Transformed Infra–Red Spectroscopy (FTIR), Powder X–ray Diffraction (PXRD), Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA), Thermo–Gravimetric Analysis (TGA), N2 gas adsorption–desorption isotherms and Diffuse Reflectance UV–Vis Spectroscopy (DRS). It was determined that the amorphous gel was comprised of non-hydrolyzed butoxy groups as well as hydroxyl groups bonded to titanium. The thermal evolution of gel is consisted of five steps: elimination of adsorbed water and butanol in temperature range between room temperature and 200 °C, decomposition and elimination of butoxy groups between 200 and 300°C. The crystallization of anatase centered at 404°C, transformation to rutile starting from 540 °C and oxidation of char and tar above 600°C. Thermal treatment of gel at 350 °C for 2 h yields with pure nanocrystalline anatase with average crystallite size of 13.2±0.2 nm, specific surface area of 65.48 m2 g–1 and bandgap, of 3.24 eV. The preliminary assessment of prepared catalyst photocatalytic activity was obtained through degradation process of methylene blue dye under UV light and the 99 % degradation of dye took place within 150 min

Individual Stochastic Screening for the Development of Computer Graphics

With the emergence of new tools and media, art and design have developed into digital computer-generated works. This article presents a sequence of creating art graphics because their original authors have not published the procedures. The goal is to discover the mathematics of an image and the programming libretto with the purpose of organizing a structural base of computer graphics. We will elaborate the procedures used to produce graphics known throughout the history of art, but that are nowadays also found in design and security graphics. The results are closely related graphics obtained by changing parameters that initiate them. The aim is to control the graphics, i.e. to use controlled stochastic to achieve desired solutions. Since the artists from the past have never published the procedures of screening methods, their ideas have remained “only” the works of art. In this article we will present the development of the algorithm that, more or less successfully, simulates those screening solutions. It has been proven that mathematically defined graphical elements serve as screening elements. New technological and mathematical solutions are introduced in the reproduction with individual screening elements to be used in printing

&nbsp

Enhancing Lean Manufacturing Utilizing Industry 4.0 Technologies: A Focus on Cyber-Physical Systems

The industry is a significant part of our economy, providing our material goods in a highly mechanized and automatized way. The industry has gone through three acknowledged revolutions, and now the industry is on the verge of the fourth industrial revolution as known as Industry 4.0. Industry 4.0 surfaced in the 21st century and has gained interest exponentially after 2016. However, the research on this topic is still in its early stages. Thus, this has been taken into account as the research is conducted on a more specific topic. Industry 4.0 composes of many different technologies, from which the main focus of this thesis' is on Cyber-Physical Systems and what they might offer to Lean Manufacturing. The aim of this thesis is also to provide basic knowledge of lean and Industry 4.0 in general so that it allows more profound exploring of Cyber-Physical Systems and helps to perceive the possibilities more extensively. This thesis also presents significant concerns regarding the use of Cyber-Physical Systems. Based on these topics, the conclusion can be formed to answer what possibilities Industry 4.0 offers. The main findings from this literature review prove that Industry 4.0 and Cyber-Physical Systems can offer a great variety of possibilities to Lean Manufacturing. As it is debated that Lean Manufacturing, as is, is reaching its limits, implementing Industry 4.0 technologies are becoming crucial to maintain competitive capability. Cyber-Physical Systems could offer enhancement through streamlining the manufacturing process, reducing waste and workload, and better deficit and abnormality detection, for example. As a contribution, this thesis provides information in a chronological order to provide extensive enough understanding and an answer to the research question

Parallel Motion Images in Visual and Near Infrared Spectrum

This paper presents parallel film recording of sunlight reflection from the same matter, in visual (V) and near infrared (Z) spectrum. We have designed a ZRGB-Motion GoPro video camera for parallel high quality motion recording in dual spectrum. Recorded are two parallel video twins, presenting different information in the grey area. The usage of extended reality in the infrared spectrum could be used in artistic as well as identification purposes. The scenography and costume designs give the technical solution in the making of a parallel motion image. The importance of parallel reproduction of motion images lies in the differences that create a new expanded space in communication design
