The Turkish interest groups in Brussels
The Europeanisation approach covers a very broad spectrum, and the notion has been blurred by the extensive use that has been made of it by academics. Visier's analysis of Turkish interest groups in Brussels serves to highlight a gap between the currently problematic Turkey-EU membership process and the successful integration of these groups in the EU political arena in Brussels. By focusing on both the socialisation processes of Turkish interest groups' members and the collective trajectories of these groups, this chapter takes a fresh approach to the Europeanisation process. Ultimately, the analysis demonstrates that if we are to understand the role played by of these social actors it is necessary to look beyond institutional relationships between the EU and Turkey and the accession process alone. Research has to take into account national, international and transnational variables and study how they overlap
This paper analyses the politicization process in France of Turkey’s EU bid. In 2002 the President of the Convention on the future of Europe, V. Giscard d’Estaing, was one of the first leaders to take a strong political stand against Turkey’s EU bid. The first part of the paper demonstrates why and how this stand was an attempt to legitimize the European Union. The success of the first step of this politicization process is shown by the very strong impact in both European and French policies of V. Giscard d’Estaing’s claim. The second part of the paper covers French politicians’ use of the issue of Turkey’s EU bid. In 2004, several French politicians opposed Turkey’s EU bid in order to mobilize French citizens for the European elections. First considered as a tool because of its strong political power, the point of Turkey’s EU bid gradually vanished from the politicians’ strategies, to become an issue that they couldn’t manage as they wanted to. The issue rose not only as a resource but also as a handicap for French polity. The politicization process has also led to a particular framing of the issue which nowadays is still strong in French political polity and the public sphere
Turkey and the European Union: The sociology of engaged actors and of their contribution to the candidacy issue
At the current time, more and more is being written about relations between Turkey and the European Union, with the heated debate surrounding Turkey’s accession to the EU generating an abundance of articles and papers defending or condemning its candidacy. When considering the candidacy issue, scientific production mainly tends to use a description of the institutional history of the relationship between Turkey and the European Community as its starting point. Many works review the Turkish si..
empresa a escala 1:2.Visier Martín, A. (2016).
del lugar donde se desarrolla dicho deporte, es decir, junto a la playa;
Abstract: The dissertation of this project looks for an adaptive solution for the ephemeral
architecture to be applied into a coast equipment conceived as a surf school at
the Patos Beach, Nigrán Council in the southwest of Galicia. The field of
action is classified as rustic soil affected by the coast protection legislation
which restricts the building of any permanent structure and that is why one of
the main focus of this project lies on the adaptability of the ephemeral
architecture. As far as aquatic sports are concerned, there is a preference for
approaching a matter which poses a challenge when looking for solutions and
brand new architectural designs. The model for these sports activities is a
wooden structure working both as a cabin and dressing room and also as a
warehouse, and it should be located as near as possible to the place where
these sports are practiced, alongside the beach. The main idea is to promote
the practice of new sports activities which would lead to advocate for a healthy
lifestyle and encourage an ideal exploitation of nature. This should be done
through an optimal sports equipment that preserves the balance between the
functionality of these spaces and its environment and surroundings.
The main objectives are to determine the potential and possibilities of applying
ephemeral architecture on coast equipments through the evaluation of its
materials and structural systems of low environmental impact. The
identification of building references of coast equipments focused on emerging
aquatic sports would follow , and then, the subsequent development of a coast
sports equipment with ephemeral features of the assembly viability and
transport that would not affect the aesthetics and the impact of the
surroundings.
Throughout the methodology used , it is assessed a certain information that
makes it possible to apply judgment criterion based on building references and
to select and analyze certain architectural works before concluding with some
premises for the project.
The location of Patos beach is well known for having specific characteristics
for the practice of surf and similar sport disciplines, therefore, there is a huge
potential for a better exploitation of these kind of activities by getting the most
from a proper equipment on this location through the applied ephemeral
architecture.
Through this infrastructure and the applied techniques of the commercial
branch of the ephemeral architecture, we seek to encourage a healthy lifestyle
without incurring on excessive expenses. This way, it is introduced within the
architectural general discipline, a new modular multidimensional application of
the ephemeral architecture for its use in locations where the legislation does
not allow permanent structures
Commissioning of Building HVAC Systems for Improved Energy Performance: A Summary of Annex 40 Results
Annex 40 is an international research project which aims at developing,

commissioning, 4) approaches to use component as well as whole building
models to improve commissioning
Teachers and physicians are traditionally considered as prototypes of the category of profession, particularly because of their allegedly possessing a knowledge which is the universal, their tendency for general interest, and their autonomy.
